Scenery:

This training session shall take place on Earth. An abandoned city stands somewhere in Europe with skyscrapers that stretch ever upward. The living must have left this desolate place years and years ago, evident by both the moss and vines that now climb the sides of building. Judging by the placement of the sun the time is just past noon or so, the scent of rusting iron being all but drowned out by the wonderful scent of nature.

Kido being trained for:

Bakudo: 61, 62, 63
Hado: 63

Looking around one could see the allure to this place. It presented the beauty of both nature and humanity. Architecture from both the sentient and not mixing together to form something unseen before by anyone that didn't specifically seek out such places. Amongst the roof tops sat Lerato, cross-legged with his eyes closed as he soaked up the sun. It felt good to let the warmth soak in, to let the stress float away in bliss. "This is nice." He mummbled to himself. Next to him he could hear the soft cooing of pigeons with a singular dove amongst them. The wild life of this place was agreeing with him; even his zanpukato seemed incline to agree. "I bet Captain Shiboo won't expect me to ask for training in a place like this." He laughed. The past few times he had asked the Sereitei's most skilled kido user to train him the places were deep in the wilderness. Looking around he couldn't help but wonder what caused all the people to leave the city. It was as if one day they all decided that it would be best to just up and leave. He looked over at a few pigeons that had landed next to him, "You guys wouldn't have any idea, would you?" He asked before rolling his eyes. "Of course not." He said to himself, slightly embarressed at the thought that the animals might actually be able to understand him. "I'm glad he wasn't here to see that..." He sighed, waiting for the Captain to arrive.

The captain had perched himself on top of the tallest building in the city. "If humans keep things up soon most of the city will look like this." The captain sighed as he looked below him to check on if Lerato had noticed him yet. The young shinigami was sitting on a lower rooftop then Yamoto, and normally would be able to feel the captain presence, but the captain had lowered his spiritual pressure to almost nothing as to not disturb the natural serenity of his surroundings. "Still nothing ehh. Well we increase his reiatsu detection skills later, but for now I guess it is time to train." Yamoto stood up and yawned a little. "Damn reports keeping me up till god hours of the night."

Yamoto leapt of the building and fell to level of where Lerato was at. "You know instead of worrying about pigeons you should focus on detecting reiatsu signatures, but more of that later." Yamoto looked around to see what he could use for target. "Well damn I thought there at least be something. but I guess not. Good thing I thought ahead. Hikari Geeto. (Light Gate) A rather large circle of light appeared in front of the captain and to which the captain immediately stepped into disappearing from the area. After a few moment several wooden dummy came flying out of the gate and soon followed Yamoto. "I should do that more often, it would clear up my office in no time." The captain began to set up each dummy one at a time a very great distance from one another. "Now than shall we begin?"

"Alright Bakudo 61, one of my personal favorites. The key to this spell is reiatsu concentration, you have to focus your reiatsu in six different places at once and each place is rather far away from you. I'll demonstrate one rod at a time." Yamoto held up his right finger and pointed it towards the right of the dummy. Almost instantly you could see visible reiatsu in the air. Yamoto continued to do this until there were six reiatsu rods surrounding the target. "Now this technique would be useless if you had to do it this slow, but unfortunately that is how you have to learn. ""Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six. Bakudo 61. Six Rods Prison of Light."

As soon as Yamoto said the incantation the reiatsu surrounding the dummy glowed a bright yellow and almost instantly slammed into the wooden figure. "If they get trapped in this, it is over."

Lerato smiled and looked up at him. "Five buildings in front of me, three to the left. Approximately seventeen stories up?" He asked as he stood. He was giving the position at which he was able to tell there was someone with reiatsu though it was fickle, hidden for some unknown reason. He man stopped and stretched allowing his back to pop and snap as the Captain opened up a portal into his office. "That's odd. I don't recall ever hearing about that kido while at the academy..." He pondered to himself whether or not he was over looking one. "The thing is, Captain," he stopped, looking down at the birds as he explained, "you can never trust a bird to have the common curtisy that a shinigami has. While I'm sure you could have attacked me, I don't think you would have. A pigeon on the other hand would sooner s**t on you then eat some seed you've spread out for it." With a quick nod he told the captain he was ready and took up a stance beside him, concentrating on both the incantation the man used as well as the shape and structure that the kido took before the spell hit full force.

Reiatsu concentration. The same thing that made binding spells dangerous also made them the most difficult sometimes. Even with one such as Suspending Star that allowed someone to push as much reiatsu as necessary it was a difficult manuever and now he was being asked to split his concentration once again; this time into six points instead of five. Carefully he picked six spots around his intended target, imagining them to be the lines that divided a hexagon into triangles, one forming from each vertice. After a few seconds the image in his mind came into view for all to see, six thin sheets of slightly opaque energy around his target. "Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six. Bakudo #61, Six Rods Prison of Light." Once he had recited the incantation to the spell the thin layers of energy thickened and started to glow with a yellow light, slamming into the dummy with an audible thunk. Soon after they made contact though the bright yellow glow of the reiatsu started to flicker, pulsing like a strobe light until all six of the beams exploded sending a wave of energy in all directions.

"Well that didn't go as planned." He mummbled. His concentration, though sound, wasn't enough to keep all six beams stable and once one had started to break down the rest followed. "That's what I get for trying to conjure them all at the same time already." He rubbed the back of his neck, the smoke around the dummy clearing slowly with the gentle breeze that swept through the city streets.

Once the wind had blown away the smoke the two men could set eyes upon the target and observe the damage that had been done to it. Slightly charred on the outside it appeared to be fine for the most part, a few spots having splintered by the force of the explosion. Rolling his eyes he readied his stance once again, this time raising his finger just as the Captain had instructed him to do. Starting again he concentrated on six more points, and then pointed to each of them in turn; top left, bottom right, middle left, middle right, bottom left to top right. The way that he moved his finger made it look like he was drawing a giant six-pointed star in the air. Once he had conjured all six beams of opaque light he let them fade away, dropping his finger. Closing his eyes he let the image remain in his head, picturing the outcome he wanted. Then, one by one, they came back. Fade and emerge, fade and emerge; he made it almost like a game until he was able to bring them to life and keep them stable within only a few seconds. "Carriage of Thunder. Bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six. Bakudo #61, Six Rods Prison of Light." The yellow energy solidified once more, much more stable then the first time around. A loud crack sounded as the wood of the dummy split down the middle in two spots.

"So these six beams of light are supposed to incapacitate someone, eh? Seems like they'd just give you a nasty gut ache." He laughed, thinking about how unsuspecting some of the kido were. To think that six beams of energy could keep someone's entire body from moving was both strange and invigorating. "Hey Captain Shiboo, have you ever used this on someone who tried to interrupt a dance of yours?" He laughed, imagining the man trapping his competition before they had a chance to move on his woman.

"Very good. I had confidence that you could use the spell. Now for something a little less challenging. This next spell is effective when trying to capture fast moving enemies or rogue Shinigami. To start one must shape the reiatsu into a long rod that they will hold in there dominate hand. However there must be alot of reiatsu in this rod shape because the spell splits this single rod into many in order to pin the target down and increase your chances of hitting him if he is moving."

Yamoto smiled as he raised his right hand over his head. "Forming the shape of the rod should be fairly simple for you seeing a s reiatsu manipulation is one of your strong points." Yamoto looked at his target which was a wooden dummy about 20 yards away. "Bakudo 62. Hundred Steps Fence." The reiatsu in Yamoto hand materialized into a long purple Hexagon prism rod. The captain threw the rod at his target. Half way threw the flight the single rod exploded into about 20 smaller rods. The 20 objects rained collided with the wooden dummy some hitting the dummy penetrating the entire 4 of wooden that coincided with the normal thickness of a male human. The force of the hit cause the wooden holding the dummy up to break making the structure fall to the ground trapping the body further. "Now the spell works best when fired from above the target or when the in a large sturdy structure behind the target such as a wall." Yamoto smiled as a he found a large wall that a dummy was placed in front of. Yamoto indicated that the wall was now what Lerato now aiming for. "You goal is to pin the dummy to that wall."

Lerato beamed, teeth flashing in the sun as he listened to the compliment. 'A strong suit? I guess so.' The more he thought on the matter the more he realized that he had indeed been getting better at controlling his reiatsu. "I wouldn't really call it a strong point yet.." Lerato had an idea as he watched the rods Yamoto had created plunge into the dummy and the wall behind it. 'I wonder...' Holding his left hand out in front of him he concentrated on a four foot line just under his palm. A second after his reiatsu peaked, a light blue-ish hexagon shaped rod solidified. "It's so light." Spinning the rod around like a miniature staff he chuckled. After a few minutes of spinning the spell around he stopped and turned towards another dummy. "Alright, I think I'm ready." Rolling his shoulders back he split his stance. "Have you ever thought that maybe these spells influenced the formation of sports? Just look at the similarities between some of them. Abolishing Flames and discus, Hundred Steps Fence and the javelin. There has to be some sort of relation."

"Bakudo #62, Hundred Steps Fence." Taking a hop and a step the rod was sent flying forward like a bullet from a gun before splitting into twenty identical rods. The resulting noise reminded him of hail the size of baseballs raining down upon the earth. Looking up he smiled, mentally patting himself on the back. "I guess five out of twenty isn't that bad." He looked between his teacher and the dummy that would have now been ensnared had it been alive. A few seconds later another 'thunk' sounded and the wooden figure which had been wobbling finally fell to the ground. "I think we need a bit more power though..." He laughed, readying him self for the next onslaught of power that would cascade through his body.

And an onslaught it was. He let his reiatsu bubble up around him until there were small tendrils licking their way around his hands trying to make their way up his wrists. Once again he focused, this time allowing the energy to turn opaque and slightly blue before allowing it to concentrate into a six foot long rod. This time the rod felt slightly heavier, perhaps two pounds in total. "This oughta do it. Bakudo #62, Hundred Steps Fence." His smile had become wicked, frighteningly cold in just a fraction of a second. Picking another target about the same distance away he thought about how hard he'd have to hit it to make it go careening into the wall behind it. He tossed the rod up and down in his hand a few times before lurching forward, throwing the spell in much the same way one would throw a spear. After five yards the single rod split into forty. Another five yards and each rod doubled. Another five yards and one last splitting session as a small group of rods once again doubled to form an even hundred. In the last five yards before his target the rods spread out, covering a larger area than before. With a collection of loud 'thunk's the target was lifted into the air before being slammed against the wall not far from it. Seven rods of glowing white-blue energy stuck the wooden dummy to the wall, the rest clustering themselves within ten yards in any direction of it.

Panting, Lerato dropped to his knees. "No... wonder..." He leaned forward, bracing himself with his right arm. "No wonder... you didn't show... the full strength..." Pushing up so he was resting on his knees he did the best he could to smile. "Well, he's pinned." The resulting laughter came out as a mix between a chuckle and a hacking cough. Forcing himself up he turned to look at his teacher and gave him a quick nod which was supposed to say something along the lines of, 'So, how was that?' Regaining control of his breathing he waited, popping his neck until the next spell was taught.

"Excellent work, now it is time for the next kido. This kido should be fairly easy master as it only an enhanced version of bakudo 4." Yamoto pointed to a dummy that was quite close to them. You must focus your reiatsu around the dummy arms and chest area. Once you do that the spell will work." Yamoto smiled as his eyes concentrated on the wooden structure in front of him. The captain formed his reiatsu in a cylinder shape around the dummy and began to strengthen the reiatsu. "Bakudo 63 Locking Bondage Stripes." The chains of reiatsu suddenly began to wrap around the dummy locking what would be his arm to the side of his chest. "Alright well that is the basics of it , now you try."

"An enhanced version of Crawling Rope, huh? This could be fun." For a brief moment images of pranks scrolled through his head, as well as a memory of his kidou instructed explaining to the class why they couldn't be taught such techniques until they were older. "They always have to take the fun out of life, don't they..." He grumbled, imagining Zaine's reaction had he awaken to find himself bound, and the ensuing rants about missing class. "Ah well, it was probably for the best." Lerato stood up and moved to the side of Captain Shiboo, waiting for instruction as to how the bakudou should be performed. His instruction from a single short sentence, and a very slight movement. Nodding silently Lerato picked out a dummy and turned to it, preparing himself.

"...focus your reiatsu around the dummy's arms and chest area." He repeated the sentence to himself, and raised his hand towards the dummy. He watched as the thick yellow rope spun around the wooden figure in his head, imagining every little detail as he gathered his energy. "Bakudou #63, Locking Bondage Stripes." Conjuring the thick belts of energy was indeed easy. He smiled once he closed his hand into a fist, watching the ropes of energy wrap around his target with ease. "Not bad." He chuckled, turning his head slightly to the left so he could look over at his trainer. "So? I guess that leaves hadou 63, huh?"

Yamoto looked for the nearest wooden dummy around and soon found it. "Ah there you area." The captain pointed his right hand at the dummy and supported his wrist with his left hand. "Remember to support what ever wrist you are firing with when it comes to this kido and some others." Yamoto began to build up reiatsu in his right hand, soon the reiatsu could be could be physically seen by anyone in the area. "Sprinkled on the bones of the beast! Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring. Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle. Hado 63. Thunder Roar Cannon." The spell exploded out of Yamoto hand rocketing towards the intended target. The massive wave of yellow energy engulfed the wooden dummy completely destroying it. "Alright your turn."

Lerato stood in awe of the display. Such power. Such destruction. It was remarkable that anything could really contain that much power without being a massive spectacle. "Alright, your turn." The words actually caught him by surprise, forcing him to look around as if the captain was instructing someone else at the same time. While he was looking around he realized how stupid he looked and promptly tried to make it seem like he was casually looking for another dummy to practice on. Finding one slight to their right he jogged over to it and picked it up. It wasn't until he was about half way back, however, that he felt a sudden jerk at his mind, memories flashing through his head over and over. 'Right... better not make the same mistake with this one...' He thought to himself. Taking a sharp right he jogged to the very end of the roof top. "This better be far enough..." The thought about this hadou going wrong chilled him to his very bones.

As he jogged back he gave Yamoto the thumbs up, but as he passed he gave him a small warning. "You might want to be prepared to protect yourself..." The captain might not have seen his previous attempts with electrical based kidou, but the knowledge of his zanpukatou alone should have gave him an idea of what exactly could go wrong. Once Lerato was on the far end of the roof top he turned around and lined up. Bracing his wrist with his other hand he began to collect his energy into a dense yellow ball. Already he could feel the power being drawn out with ease. "Sprinkled on the bones of the beast. Sharp tower, red crystal, steel ring." As he recited the incantation he could feel the hairs on the back of his neck and arms stand up. "Move and become the wind, stop and become the calm. The sound of warring spears fills the empty castle. Hadou #63, Thunder Roar Cannon." The energy flooded his system as he finished the spell, causing a massive wave of yellow energy to obliterate not only the dummy, but the ground under it's path, and the spot directly behind his target on the adjacent building. Swallowing hard Lerato walked back to his trainer, all to aware that his wave of energy was easily twice as powerful as what a Vice Captain should be able to muster.
