A note
This RP is open to the lions who know Kiburi and wish to say goodbye. (mainly immediate family)

She stood by the waterhole as she had promised, pondering on her last moments before she would leave the pride and head out on her own. She'd be a rogue, a true rogue! Her heart sung and her eyes sparkled with excitement.

Yet amongst the joy was a deep and terrible sorrow.

Pictures of her family flittered behind her mind's eyes. Golden Mchele with his cute white nose. He was an amazing brother - though she had never told him so. She would miss him perhaps most out of all her family, maybe because she had spent the most time with him, playing games, talking and sharing secrets.

Then thoughts of her parents, the mother and father she adored. She was extremely proud of them and would never let anyone say a bad word about them. Sure they weren't a king of queen but they were strong, brave and wonderful! She idolised her parents and cherished them more than anything.

So why was she leaving them?

Because deep in her soul she craved adventure, she wanted to see the world with her own two eyes. She wanted to make her parents proud. Prove that she wasn't a weakling little pridelander. She had something to prove and until she had done just that she wouldn't return. How could she? She was a lionness of great pride and would never allow herself to return to her family with her tail between her legs.

No! She was Kiburi! Daught of Mahiri and Bakhti!

She lapped at the water momentarily and then turned her head up to gaze at the pinnacle of pride rock where she had left Rocky. She'd miss him too...

Then with a small sigh she lowered herself to the dusty ground and awaited her family.

Mchele had left Kib and his mother when they returned from their outing, Bakhti to go find her mate and Kib to go find Uumi. The older brother had simply waited where he was until he felt ready to go to the waterhole as his sister had asked.

But he wasn't ready and he didn't think he could be. He did try to rally his spirits so he would be able to give his sister a confident farewell and wish her luck. But it was a losing battle. Many days before this he had thought about her decision to go, ever since she'd first told him, and as the time grew closer the ache in his heart grew stronger. Now it was nearing a sharp stab, threatening to break through in a wave of tears. He didn't know how he would manage to come and say goodbye without that happening. All he knew was that he HAD to be there.

Arriving at the spot he pushed through the last clumps of grass and into the clearing. There was his sister, his pretty little sister who didn't have a mean bone in her body. His previously lowered eared perked up when he saw her and slowly he walked closer. "Kib... Kiburi..."

There was a deep thud each time Mahiri placed a heavy paw upon the dusty ground, small pools of dust rose around each chocolate covered mitt.

He had recently received the news that his own lovely daughter, his own beautiful daughter would be leaving the safe pride to venture out as a Rogue. This news had shocked him, and saddened him more so. Why would she want to leave? Though Mahiri didn't understand. He didn't understand that his daughter was obviously craving the adventure he had never really wanted.

He sighed deeply...

His scarlet eyes traced the scenery, filled with slight sadness, and tainted with pain. Shifting, they fell upon the figure of a pearl-coloured lion, his daughter. His eyes lit up quickly, followed by the light of curiousity, he padded towards her, with a sad smile.

"Hello Princess..."

Bakhti had her head half resting on Mahiri's side as they walked towards the waterhole. Her eyes were sad but they would change after all Kib wouldn't leave right? She would come to her senses and see how much this was hurting everyone else and stay?

The two reached the others, Bakhti rose her had and looked at Mchele, a smile crawling across her face. She didn't go to Kib, her mother instincts to give her children the same amount of attention always came into play and instead walked to Mchele and licked his head, nuzzling him slightly. He was a good boy, he was staying.

She looked over to Mahiri and Kib though said nothing. She just stayed with her son, her darling Mchele.

Kib's eyes snapped upon Mchele, her heart twisting in her chest even as her eyes trembled with a sheen of unshed tears. Oh it was her brother! Her only and dearest sibling! She had hoped he would arrive first!

She wasted no time in approaching him, moving to bury her face in the side of his neck and breathing in his scent as if to memorise it. "I'll miss you brother." She murmered so that only his ears could hear it, "I promise I'll be back, I promise!" She sounded so determined as if she was trying to make herself believe it at the same time. She couldn't die, not when she had to return to see her wonderful family. That alone gave her something to believe in, something to fight for.

She pulled away just in time to see the large bulk of her father moving towards them, his greeting a stab to her vulnerable heart. Princess....yes, she was his princess.

The tears welled further as she remained standing close to Mchele, seeking comfort from their closeness. "Papa!" She squeaked, her throat hoarse, "you came, you really came to say goodbye." She wished she could have something to remember her family by, turning to gaze at the water to catch a glimmer of her reflection. It was then that she realised she didn't need anything but the colour of fur to remember her dam and sire. and her sibling Her head was crowned with a white stripe that resembled her father's fur, and her golden paws and mask were the same colours of her mother and Mchele.

It was then that she noticed her mother and the smile that was present on her face! Oh trust mother to understand! She had been a rogue too so of course she'd realise the feelings that she was going through. She really didn't understand Bakhti's pain...her denial, simply taking it as a good sign.

"Mother..." Kib spoke softly, glancing around a moment, "is Danzi n-not coming?" She questioned her when the large golden lionness moved to nuzzle at Mchele.

The large lion was close to choking now, he stumbled on the few words he gave Kiburi, moving slightly closer. "Now, Princess... R-remember these last few things. Remember that no matter where you are, where you go, what you do, We will always love you Kiburi, even if you arent with us to hear the words, I want you to carry this knowlege in your heart, and do us proud...." He trailed off, giving her another sade smile, the layer of sheen in his own eyes formed tears, streaking slowly down his ivory and chocolate face.

The first tears of his adulthood. The first tears since the death of his mother. Was this another of lifes milestones? He shook his head, padding closer still to his daughter, raising his head to meet hers with a loving nuzzle that silently uttered the three words that ran through Mahiris mind.

He'd heard that Kiburi was leaving and that drew Danzi towards the group. In a way, he felt a bit like an outsider, but then... He still considered them all family. After all, Bakhti and taken him in, treated him like her own... And thus when he met Kiburi and Mchele, he'd thought of them as his little brother and little sister. He drew closer, looking quite clean for once since he'd gotten into the Pridelands. Wanted to look nice to see his sister off... They came into view amid the grass - Mainly, Mahiri and Kiburi were in view, since the peach lioness(When did she grow up so fast...?) and the white male stood out like that. The orange lion approached slowly, ears flicking towards the other lions.

Bakhti turned to see Danzi coming, "There you go Kib." She stayed back. SHe was refusing to say goodbye, why wont Kib come to her senses? She was getting seriously confused and looked at the others, a smile was on her face but it was a nervous smile. She had learnt long ago to hide her feelings and she had learnt to perfect it. She was now laying down on the ground watching the others, she wasn't happy for this.

Her brother received her with a warm nuzzling of his head against her's. "I'll miss you too Kiburi, I'll miss you so much." He closed his eyes as he leant his head against her, it helped control the ebb of tears that threatened. Nodding at her promise, he agreed. "Yes, come back to us Kib, one day."

They broke apart as the others came to give their farewells and Mchele was relieved to have his mother come close, giving a soft mew at his mother's tender lick on his head. Why wouldn't she say anything to his sister though?

Listening to their father speak and seeing the dampness in his own eyes too, Mchele began to feel the wet prickle at his ran down his cheeks as well. Though he set a sad smile on his face and for the moment kept his cries silent within. "Yes, Kib. We'll always love you. Please don't ever forget us..."

She was beginning to feel overwhelmed by the whole meeting, and it seemed more sureal than anything. Was she really leaving and was she really causing her family to have those sad faces? She had never wanted to cause pain to the ones she loved but it seemed that it had been impossible not to do so.

She accepted her father's words and nuzzled him in return, raising herself up so she could lick at his cheek in a lion-like kiss.

"Daddy, I love you too." Her voice trembled but it held true as she turned her eyes to the other approaching. Oh it was Danzi! She'd hoped that her biggest brother would come to say goodbye but feared he would not.

She skittered over to him, pressing herself against him and released a soft sigh. "Brother, I'm glad you came." The big orange lion was a great comfort to the pearly girl.

Then she turned to walk alongside him, joining their little gathering once more. "I'll never forget you Mchele, any of you." She turned to regard them all through her shimmering orbs. Her eyes held the tears for now but how long could she keep this up?

"Papa...I'll always remember what you told me, and I hope that when I return you'll be even more proud of me. I know that perhaps this isn't the wisest thing but I need to do this..." Then she turned sad eyes upon her mother who seemed to be taking this all very well.

"And mama...one day I want to become just like you, a brave lionness who can do anything she wants. I want to experience what you did as a rogue, understand what it truly is to have a family." She drew in a shaky breath, her first tear escaping and trembling down one furry cheek.

"And Danzi?" She turned lovingly to her large brother and gave him a small smile, "I know you were a rogue too and that you found safety with my mother. I just want to say that I'll always think of you as a brother. Always." For she loved him as much as any member of her family.

Then she turned slate-blue eyes upon her white-nosed sibling and she felt a shiver of pain lance through her being. Mchele...she would miss him so much. "Mmmchele." She added the little purr to his name as she often did, "I know you're not happy with me leaving, and I can't say I blame you. I just want you to know that just because we won't see each other each day doesn't mean you won't be in my mind...my heart."

She trailed off as another tear rolled down the side of her face, whiskers trembling as she sought to find more words and failed. Had she said everything but goodbye?

It appeared so.

The orange male nodded, going over and giving her the lion equivelant of a hug. "And I'll always think of you as my sister." He went and sat down, watching Kiburi. "I wish you luck... You're going into the rogue life with more chance than I would have had if I'd not found Mom." He chuckled. "You're certainly not a helpless little cub, after all."

Bakhti just watched her not wanting to say anything, it was her daughter and she was trying to be like her mother? Why? Bakhti's life had been searching for a home and Kib had a home but she was leaving to find it? It made no sense in the lionesses head so she just watched and held back the tears.
