Embry was walking away from the Yasashii tribe. She had come to love the grounds as much as she loved the people that lived there, but she missed Boniface. She had met him before, and quite enjoyed his company. She had also promised to come back and visit him and had recently just gotten the time to do so.
Smiling to herself, she trudged through the mud liking the way her paws squished in it. She realized that she was still a kit at heart, and most likely would be her whole life but she just didn't care. It made her happy. Looking u she noticed that the trees were getting closer. Going by description alone, she was hoping that she would be able to find Boniface's forest without getting lost.
"Mm..." She looked to the side, "Boniface said there were a lot of trees in his forest..." She walked up to a tree and sniffed it, "Mm....i still don't smell the difference." She smiled wider, "I'll have to ask him to help me figure it out."

Boniface was slowly pacing through his forest home. It had been awhile since he'd heard from Embry, the vixen who showed him what stripes "looked" like. He'd made the offer for her to come visit him, since travel was especially difficult for the blind male. Since then he'd been patrolling the borders of his lands more regularly. Thus far no sign of Embry.
Boniface sighed and turned his face towards the wind to read the scents and hear what sounds it carried. He had been living on his own ever since he had become an adult, so he was very much used to being his own company. Still, it was nice to talk to others every once in awhile.
Hang on? Boniface sniffed at the wind curiously. The tinests of smiles spread on his face. Well, looked like he would be having company after all. From how faint the smell was she was far off still, but Boniface was almost positive it was Embry. He had a very good memory for scents and sounds.((Since Boni's blind my title suggests will all be about sight XD But what do you of "Tell me what you see" or "Close your eyes"?))

"La, la la la la......" She sang softly as she walked through the forest. It was amazing to her how peaceful it was. Usually, at least it had been her experience in the past, she ran into some sort of creature of prey like a wild boar or a mountain cat. But this place was surprising filled with the most colorful birds she had ever gazed upon.
She knew that she was supposed to be looking for her friend, but she couldn't help sparing a few minutes to sit and watch the birds. Life appeared to be so easy for them. Maybe that was just her impression though, no life was completely simple she reminded herself. Figuring it was time to continue moving, Embry stood up and walked deeper into the forest. "Boni!" She called. She thought of a nickname while she was away and wanted to see what he thought of it. She liked to give nicknames to all her friends.

Boniface's ears swiveled on his head. To most the sound might have been too far off and echoing to properly pinpoint, but it you removed all the trees and the occasional hill or rock in the way his face would have been pointing directly at Embry. He was glad to hear her voice, for it confirmed what he thought was her smell.
"Over here," he called out, attempting to control his shout so that it was loud enough to reach Embry but not so loud as to echo and confuse her as to where his position was. He would walk about to find her, but already he was at the limits of his territory and hesitant to go further. He was sure he could manage a slow walk without bumping into things, but he's rather Embry found him so they could navigate back onto safe ground.

Embry beamed as she heard his voice, "So I'm not lost then...." She giggled as she broke out into a slight jog so that she could get there faster. It would be good to see him again. She had loads of stories to tell him about her friends back at her tribe. They had all embraced her happily into the tribe, and for the first time in her life she felt like she had a real family.
Finally she broke through the last of the trees and looked around for a minute before seeing Boniface at the outskirts of another set of trees. "Boni!" She beamed and rushed over to him, thought seriously about tackling him to the ground but the decided against it because she didn't want to hurt him. "I find you."

Boniface chuckled. "Yes, indeed you did. Good to hear you again, Embry." Life certainly seemed to have been agreeing with his friend. He could hear the boundless energy in her voice and in the way the mood felt. It certainly felt like she was ready to run circles around him.

Embry beamed, her tail wagging. "It's good to see you again Boni...." She bounced up and down once, then sat on the ground to contain her excitement. "So i came to visit you like i promise....so now you have to give me a tour of your forest....You said if I ever came here you would show me around." She smiled, her tail swishing over the ground continuously.

Boni nodded, his calm energy quite a contrast with Embry's own. "That I did. Okay, let's get started on the tour." He shook out his thick coat and began picking his way through the trees. About ten feet in his pace picked up a bit, a normal walking speed now. It was clear from his body language he was more comfortable with this space.
"Anywhere in particular you want to start first, or just a general tour as we go walking?"

Embry smiled, "A general tour sounds good...." She sped up to match his pace. It still amazed her to see someone as calm and collected as Boni. He was the complete opposite of her most of the time. Half the time Embry could not contain her excitement, and there was Boni with a soft smile.
"You know Boni.....you should smile more often....you have a very nice smile."

"Ah, but I do smile a lot," Boniface said, his grin impish. "Usually there just aren't others around to see my smiles." His flick flicked out playfully and lightly brushed Embry's legs. With her as close as she was he couldn't miss. In his domain, where he knew every tree and every stone, he didn't mind the occasional run or dodge of a game. One couldn't be serious all the time, of course.
He paused for a moment, sniffing the air. "Ah. Embry, can you smell it? The maples are getting sweeter scents, like they do in the winter." For now it was only a marginal difference, but once snows his the ground the air would be filled with sweet maple and pine smells.

"Ahhh....well I'm not around all the time am I?" She teased, "Uh!" She giggled as she felt his tail brush across her legs, "Hey now...." She beamed as she whipped her tail around and attacked his tail back. Boni was playing with her. She laughed. Maybe he wasn't so calm and collected all the time, which was a good thing. You needed to act like a child once an awhile.
"Mm...." She lifted her head up and sniffed the air, "Mmmm...." She smirked, "I can..." she closed her eyes as she inhaled, "It makes me hungry..." She chuckled as she opened her eyes and looked at him.

Boniface nodded. "Sometimes it's nice to peel a bit of bark off the tree and just keep it in your mouth. It's quite sweet." It might even be sweet now, but he preferred to let it weather a bit for maximum effect. He started up walking again, twisting his head as though his eyes actually worked.
"We're still at the borders, so that's not much but trees. Tell me, what do they look like? I know they start losing their leaves at this point." He wondered how Embry would attempt to describe things. Some foxes tried to use colors or shapes, but for the most part Boniface didn't understand those. It was always an interesting challenge, to hear others describe the world and attempting to make sense of it.

"Describe the trees?" She looked at him, then sat on the ground and scratched the back of her head with her hind leg. She knew that he's been blind since birth so colors would be meaningless to him. "Well....I'm sure you've felt the trunk of the tree.....Here...." She nudged his paw over to touch it, "It's...ridged....and rough....Higher up.....there are smaller versions of the bark called branches.....because like the name they go off in all directions, ranging form any kind of lengths and widths...." She used her paw in the dirt to draw some shapes of branches. "And then the leaves....they're.....soft when they're alive...Here wait...."
She smiled and used her claws to climb the tree, "Here...." She came back down and set it on the ground for him to touch. "This leaf is still soft...but if it falls naturally it gets hard and crumbles to the touch...." She pawed over a dead leaf, "Usually trees have thousands upon thousands of these leaves at the top, but with winter the leaves die....so now there's just branches sticking out everywhere....Like this...." She drew a new picture of just a tree with branches.
"The trees look dead right now....but when spring rolls around.....oh....it can be the most beautiful thing in the world...." she smiled, "With leaves everywhere....all shapes and sizes..." She drew some of her favorites, "Does.....that help you at all?"

Boniface smiled reassuringly. "The pictures help give me some idea. I have no concept of what "thousands" look like, but I've listened to the wind dancing in the treetops and assumes that means a lot," he said, chuckling.
"The most I've been able to feel with my paws are small trees, saplings and such. They don't grow very often further in the forest. Less light, more trees stealing their nutrients I suppose. My territory borders the edge of the forest at a point though, and the saplings sometimes grow there."

"Yes....thousands are a lot....." She giggled, "Maybe if i take you out to a bigger forest one day i can show you how much that would be." She smiled and wrapped her tail around his, "Come on Boni....there is much more home to show me...." She closed her eyes and listened to the forest, "I imagine that you have some sort of body of water around here."
