Negative Emissions- not just zero emissions- we're talking about actually producing healthy clean air! How's that for a car?

Great concept...but the technology is definitely not there for something like this yet.

Obviously the person who designed it doesn't know all that much about the concepts they were trying to put into effect as the photovoltaic cells are quite sparse apparently and probably won't do a whole lot, and the "wind turbines" on the rims are facing the wrong way and will probably generate more drag than usable energy.
Not the mention that CO2 abosrbing materials first have to have the CO2 that naturally occurs in them removed...and then it would quickly become saturated with water and CO2 again essentially being a giant waste of money and wouldn't actually do much good if any as a vehicle.

Better off with a golf cart with solar panels for a roof i bet.
Not trying to be a downer...just realistic.

Did you see the Mulch-burning car?

The Leaf's has a CO2-absorbing body. Its metal-organic framework (MOF) imitates photosynthesis, absorbing CO2 and water to generate an electric current and oxygen.

That is cool. Why stop at cars? Buildings, signs, everything, should incorporate that too.

Mulch or wood burning commonly called wood gas?
Yes i've seen several actually that i think are pretty awesome. There was a show on the history channel a short while ago..a few weeks maybe at most that was called apocalypse PA. The family was preparing for the potential of an apocalypse and one of the projects they undertook was the construction of a wood gas burning engine. So they took a pickup truck and put the woodgas generator and everything in the truck bed. They could burn wood, mulch, dried animal waste, just about anything and it would run the truck. You can also build a wood gas generator to provide all your electricity...just a matter of if you have enough wood or waste to burn all the time.

It's cool but impractical, the CO2 has to be removed from the materials to begin with and they clog up again after a certain amount of time. It doesn't really get rid of excess CO2 it just moves it around.

What's with the claim that it produces oxygen then?

I think that has something to do with the whole it absorbs water and CO2 thing...they don't really say the exact type of material or give a whole lot of information on it. But odds are i'm guessing some sort of chemical reaction process between the material and the CO2 and water it absorbs to produce electricity and oxygen. None the less if its absorbing CO2 and water...and its giving off oxygen what happens to all the carbon and hydrogen? It either goes off into the atmosphere...where it was to start with, or it sits in the material eventually clogging it up to the point where the reaction stops occuring because it is saturated with carbon.
