Once one of the most prosperous villages with the largest military force in the world, the original village hidden in the mist has fallen into dismay. Ravaged by vandals and thrown into chaos, the village has been over run by a powerful new underground government and now is home for some of the most dangerous criminals in the shinobi world. The Water Country government likes to think of the location as just the Ruins of the Mist Village but it has quickly become known as the Village of Desolance.

(Mission 1: Garbage Pickup)Quote: Rank: D Garbage Pick up -Overview: The local garbage crew has been going on strike and a stream of endless complaints from citizens is mounting up on the Kage's desk. The pressure finally makes them snap and a mission falls upon your team to help alleviate some of the problem in hopes negotiations with the sanitary commission will come through soon. ---Step 1: You find you can use your Ninjutsu capabilities to clean up the garbage faster by burning it with fireballs, sweeping it into piles with bursts of wind, moving the earth beneath it, etc. It may not be the proper way to dispose of it... but you figure being a ninja means being creative. ...Count: 100 Lines ...Check: Attack Check (Seal Speed(x2) + Seal Speed Buff(x2) + Ninjutsu Jutsu Level + Jutsu Accuracy Buff + Item Accuracy Buff vs 150) (If you have no Ninjutsu Jutsu make the check none the less but with no Jutsu level or buffs included). ...Requirements: Failure of the Step 1 Check grants -1 point and -1 more for every 10 failed by, success grants +1point and +1 more for every 10 succeeded by. Once all 3 checks are figured out your total point value must be positive or you fail the mission and make a bigger mess than what you clean up. ......Rewards: -Success grants each participant +120 Ryo. Notes: May Complete 1 time. Kyu stepped into the disgusting cesspool that the village called the playground. Years of vandalism, ninja kids, and inclement weather left the play structures in disrepair and ruin. Kyu checked his D-Rank Mission Scroll. No, he didn't have to repair the structure today. Instead, he was just picking up the trash and litter. The shark-man lowered the scroll from his eyes, and scanned across the filthy playground. There were cigarette butts everywhere, weaved into the nasty grass and sewn into the pebble stone ground. Scraps of disintegrated paper were strewn all about, and bits of plastic were pretty common as well. Not surprisingly, the trash bin had been knocked over, and litter flowed from that as well. Kyu took a deep breath of the rank air and sighed, "Damn, today is going to be long... I need a plan... If I had more ninjutsu, I could flood the damn place, and watch as everything just flows away... However... I don't have that luxury, do I?" Kyu paused, and walked a few feet onto the playground. He began to dig up trash and throw it into the trash bag he was assigned. Piece by piece, he pulled up orange tobacco filters, strips of plastic, bits of paper, and even a shard of glass or two. Each piece of litter found its way into his trash back, and, over the period of an hour, he got a lot little bits of trash. Of course, this was all at the expense of his back muscles, his time, and his patience. When he finally straightened up, and surveyed his work, he became quickly disappointed. In this massive playground, he'd only taken care of a ten-by-ten zone. Beyond the clean and clear square, there were hundreds, no, thousands of trash-pieces. With his hand to his face, a weary and bored Kyuzaku sighed, "Damn this work. I've been training how long to do Chuunin Level missions? Why am I starting from scratch like every other Li, Wang, and Chang? Was all that training just so I could do this crap solo? Damn it..." Kyuzaku looked around at his commissioned community service, "What this place needs is a team. Not just one guy forced to work his a** off, a whole bunch of guys working together to make it look nice. Even one more guy would be a huge improvement!" "Wait! Why didn't I think of it before?" Kyuzaku ran away from the cruddy structure, and grabbed a pail of water, and carried it back posthaste. He plopped down the water, and made the tiger handseal, "Lets see how this works: Water Clone Jutsu!" The water pulled itself from the metal pail, and formed itself into a clear silhouette of Kyuzaku. The water then took full form, and recolored itself to match the Fish Man, complete with accessories and trash baggie. Now, with a second pair of hands, Kyuzaku announced, "Back to work!", then started picking up the trash with his second self. 31 lines

Kyu toiled away, grabbing each individual piece of trash off the ground. Meanwhile, his Water Clone did the same. As he plucked the litter from the ground, he began to realize that making a single water clone had no affect on his chakra level! Usually, making water clones is a chakra sucking jutsu, but maybe since I've only made one second-me, and because I've used it so much, it isn't draining anymore. With another five square feet of litter removed, Kyu found himself standing over the overturned trash barrel. As with the various litter in the ground, he picked up each piece one at a time, and put it in his quarter-full trash bag. In the pile were cans, food wrappers, a dirty lollipop or two, plastic cups, the remains of different kinds of fruit, an occasional bone, some cardboard, a broken bottle of whiskey, and some sort of garbage-substance that simply reeked. Just as he reached the end of the overturned garbage pail, he saw something at the far end. In the darkness at the end of the can, he saw something strange in the remaining garbage. Something with fur, and angry red eyes. A demonic screech came from inside the bin. Kyuzaku jumped backwards, and drew shuriken from his holster. His clone came in from behind with his own set, exclaiming, "What is it, bro?" "I dunno, go around back and give it a boot." The clone ran around behind the bin, and aimed his foot against the backside of the trashcan. He pulled back his leg, then with a drumlike boom, his foot connected with the plastic bin. The creature ran out of the can like a bat out of hell. Quick as a rabbit, and with fur that blended with the litter, it scooted out of Kyuzaku's sight, and into the face of water-clone-Kyu. With ferocious rage, it clawed away at water-clone-Kyu, until the clone exploded into a splash of water. As the furry beast fell to the ground, Kyu was finally able to see what it was. The little monster was simply a raccoon, scared out its little mind. However, this cornered animal was ready to fight for its life. Kyu had no interested in hunting coons, so when the little thing ran away, Kyu simply turned the bin back upright and put its lid on. He had to get back to work now, so Kyu walked over to the puddle, and formed the tiger handseal again. "Water Clone Jutsu!" The puddle formed his shape once more out of liquid water, then formed a skin mimicking his own. The clone saluted him, to which Kyu replied, "Back to work..." Together, they began picking up the trash once more. 61 lines

Kyu heard a noise as he picked up a few more cigarette butts and a condom (thankfully unused and still packaged!). Down the street, he sensed, were a group of kids. From the mix of high and low pitched giggles, he'd guess that they were a group of kids between 10 and 13. Chances are they were ninja academy students; most of the village kids were put into the program instead of regular schooling, regardless of natural talent. The group rounded the corner, and Kyu turned out to be right. A gang of five kids, all around the same age, each wearing some manner of the un-enforced trainee uniform. The pack leader wore a full mock-getup of the chuunin uniform, and had a pair of childish goggles on his forehead to make up for his lack of forehead protector. The leader was also smoking a butt. To Kyuzaku's disgust, it was the same brand as the ones he'd been picking up all day long. These were the trouble-makers that trashed the place. These kids were the source of the litter. Beneath his face-mask, Kyu bared his teeth, and mumbled, "They don't even know what kind of trouble they've caused me." His invisible snarl turned into an equally invisible grin, "I'll make them know." As the kids got closer, they noticed Kyu and the Water Clone picking up trash, "Hey lame-o, what do you think you're doing on our turf?" The shark boy stifled a laugh, "So kid, are all these cigarette butts yours? They sure look it." The kid laughed, and his pack of ne'er-do-wells laughed maniacally after, "Hell yea they are. I don't think you know who we are. We're the toughest and coolest kids at the Academy. You can tell, we all smoke, and we kick everyone's a**. We claimed this playground as ours months ago, and have been using it as our gang's headquarters since. You know, I don't think I said anyone could clean up here. Do you remember me saying they could?" The gang cackled, commenting, "No boss." or "Nuhuh." The boss kid pointed at Kyuzaku and yelled, "We want you out, or we're gonna beat you up like the kids at school!" Kyuzaku let out a short guffaw, then got into his Thresher Stance, "Try me." The kids ran in, brandishing kunai, shuriken, and their own fists. As they got close, Kyuzaku knocked away their weapons effortlessly with simple, open handed passes at their wrists. Before they even had the chance to grab them again, Kyuzaku swiftly danced around, and delivered one of his Thresher pounder attacks to them, leaving them on the ground aching and stunned. There were only four that attacked him, apparently the fifth leader-kid held back. The kid looked in awe that there could actually be a real ninja that would be a match for his group. The boy fell to his knees, and begged for forgiveness, "Please boss, don't hurt us, we're just kids, really! I'll do anything!" Kyuzaku grinned beneath his mask; saw a great opportunity in this... 88 lines

Kyuzaku stood back and watched the kids do his work for him. This was exactly what he was thinking about before. "One man doesn't can't make a community effort. Instead, a team is needed. A community beautification team is just as effective as a team of ninja, each person has a duty, and a weight to lift. Together, they use their skills to bring about change. Whether the job is cleaning or assassination, having a full fledged team makes the work easier." Kyuzaku sighed happily, then changed his tone to loud yelling, "Did you head that boys! TEAMWORK IS KEY TO SUCCESS! BUSHOU, DID YOU HEAR ME OVER THERE? YOU LOOK LIKE YOU'RE SLACKING!" Kyuzaku sighed again, and leaned on a post, "I remember being here as a kid. Me and the others used to have a lot of fun here... I played ninja and tag and stuff until... probobly until I was moved from the regular academy to special training. Such a shame to see it go to waste like this... One of these days, I'll come back here and fix up the entire place. I swear... Then..." Kyuzaku connected his index fingers and thumbs to make a rectangle. He peered through the middle like he was looking through a camera. Hh moved around the box, and stopped on an old ramen shop, "Sushi Shop goes there. I'll buy the lot and open it myself. Then I'll hire some bad-a** sushi-chef to make sushi for me. With the cash from there, I'll start fixing up the entire neighborhood... Benches... Shop-fronts... and I'll fix up the roads too! Hehe, just think: If being a ninja doesn't work out, I could be an entrepreneur slash urban planner." "Hey boss, who're talking to?" one of the kids said, "'Cuz I don't see anyone." Kyuzaku stared angrily at the kid, then the other four behind him, "What do you dummies think you're doing, don't you have work to do?" He then noticed his Water Clone standing behind them, "You too?! You all gotta finish up!" The kids then said, "But it is done!" Kyuzaku raised a fishy brow, and pushed past them to see the outcome. It was as they said, it looked great! The ground was clean, and not a cigarette butt was in sight! They'd even managed to find a trashed ash tray to put on the grounds for themselves! The shark-ninja was amazed, "Wow, great job guys. I'm really impressed. However..." He turned around, and stared at them with deadly intensity. His gaze made them quake in their ninja boots. "When I come back... If there is a single piece of litter on the ground... I'm coming for you!" His tone instantly changed to happy again. With excited eyes, he dispelled his clone, and said, "Well boys, see you around. And have a great day!" 113/100 lines Positive 16 Mission Points (MISSION COMPLETE)

Just as Kyuzaku was heading back to the Mission offices after his first D-Rank mission, he heard the screeching sound of a a hawk overhead. He looked up, and saw the circling bird of prey directly above. Suddenly, the bird dipped down, and dive bombed at Kyuzaku. Just before it would hit him, the falcon swooped up, and let a small cylindrical parcel fly into his chest. Kyuzaku fumbled with the object, then caught it. To his surprise, it was a Scroll covered in D's. Apparently, he was assigned a new mission! He opened up the paper scroll, and read over the instructions. His eyes gazed over the text, and he read it out loud, "Recently, a portion of the South Kirigakure Buddhist Temple collapsed simply due to age and lack of care. A reparation project has been initiated on the Temple by the Temple's Elder Monks. People in the community have come to their aid to refurbish the place, but they need more aid than simple villagers. It will be your job to do the dangerous parts, such as removing and replacing wooden beams, replacing rotten wood, working on the roof tiles, and any other jobs that would put the villagers or the monks in danger. Beware, many of the jobs you will be facing require perfect timing, or else the project may collapse and be in worse condition than before.... Great..." Kyuzaku rolled up the scroll, and set off for South Kirigakure, where his second second mission would take place.

Notes:May be completed 3 times Clunk clunk clunk, clang. Clunk clunk clunk, clang. Clunk clunk clunk clang. It had become a passionate rhythm in a small dojo for the last hour and a half. The dojo had only five visitors and they only came at the same time once a week, the rest of the week only three arrived, the trio alternating members each day and spending exactly only seven hours and twenty-three minutes within the facility. The members always entered from a back alley entrance that was sheltered from view, and they were always dressed in the same black cloak that covered their person from head to toe in complete darkness. The dojo itself was settled on the edge of the shopping district, nearing closer to the poorer section of the village. As such the outer appearance of the dojo was beaten down and pathetic, the wooden banner that once held it's name proudly barely hung off it's edge as the graffiti that was tacked all over it covered up what would have been the dojo's name. However, despite its gruff appearance on the outside, the facility was well maintained on the inside. The entrance was decorated with various large weapons that were more for show then actual combat or training, as their sizes were astronomically larger then their usable counter parts and had various designs that would prove nothing more then to be a huge target on a shinobi's person. At the entrance the floors were oak wood and the walls were made out of marble but as one would enter deeper and into the main body of the dojo, the wood became padded tiles and the walls were padded in the same fashion as institutional cells so that any impact would be almost instantly absorbed. Standing amongst the walls were racks of various weapons, ranging from long spears to short daggers, uniquely crafted crossbow, wires, kunais, and other traps to senbon, medical tools, and malicious bottles and potions; it was all there. Aside from that there were training dummies, pillars, and other larger utensils that filled the room for training. Clunk clunk clunk, clang. Clunk clunk clunk, clang. It was the only sound in the dojo, and for a moment it seemed as though that was also the only thing in the dojo as well. However the rhythm broke as the sound of thrashing rose through the room, a young man's body suddenly being hurdled into one of the training dummies that littered the room. Rolling a few feet across the floor with the dummy, the boy pushed its large frame off of his chest and pushed himself up quickly to his feet, his head raised with a kunai and his crimson red eyes searching the room slowly. For a long moment the boy stood there motionlessly, a few strands of his white blond hair swung down to the front of his face but outside of that there was no movement at all from him. And with a sudden duck, there was another body replacing the air that had been where the boy was standing a moment before. The body twisted in the air to kick at the boy's frame and with ease the leg made contact with his face, sending him once again flying through the room, stopping only as his frame touched the floor and rolled to a stop. The person caught their body weight on one hand and spun it around so their legs flung back to the floor before taking off in a dash towards the fallen boy. "That is enough. Training is over for today." Another figure had appeared in the way of the previous one that was charging the boy, with a nod the both of them flickered out of existence. A few seconds later, the boy would also rise, quickly fix the room and leave in the exact moment that made his stay there exactly seven hours and twenty-three minutes. A light sigh pushed pass Sai's lips, his bright blue eyes flickered this way and that on the streets, a misty white cloud floating around his lips each time he exhaled. It was another boring day in the gloomy world of Kirigakure. He was done with his training for the day, his brother was no where to be found yet again and his request to be placed on a team for missions was declined yet again. Shaking his head slightly, his hand streaming through his long head of hair as he did, Sai continued walking down the crowded street. With a bored huff, the boy took a turn down a less crowded side street as he contemplated what else he could do to pass time. He could always return to the academy and spend some time there reminiscing, but there wasn't much to reminisce, all the memories were of hard times and he had only spent a year in the facility before graduating and that was eleven years ago. He could barely remember the faces of the children that had been his classmates and it was just as hard to remember the faces of the teachers that taught him and his brother, but what else could be expected. After the death of his parents and being adopted by the Daiyamo, Sai and his brother had been removed from society for all purposes and means during the last eleven years. All they had been allowed to do was train, and train incessantly, why they were now being given the right to walk around the village again was beyond him but Sai didn't bother to question it. He wanted to know the reasoning behind it but he wanted to privilege more, and he unwilling to do anything that might end up costing him the privilege indefinitely. Regardless of that, he was out and about now but it still did him no good if there was nothing for him to do. "Get back here! Get back here you stinkin', no good brats!" The harsh voice of a woman broke Sai's thoughts as some commotion flared up some where behind him. "Somebody help! Help! Thieves!! They stole my merchandise! Somebody help, stop them! Thieves!!" The woman called out pleadingly, the harshness evaporating as it became more of a heaving sob. Spinning around on his heel, Sai sped towards the woman, his blue eyes bright with excitement of something finally to do. "Which way did they go?" He demanded from her fiercely. For a moment the woman respond but simply stared at the person before her in slight confusion. The boy was roughly 5'10 and so he easily towered over her, he was well built and was dressed in a gray vest and shirt that laid on top of an upper torso chain link. His shoulders were covered by large pads that adorned a red cross that matched with the one on his gloves and the pouch on the side of his waist. His lower half was covered with a large, ripped up piece of gray cloth that laid on top of free flowing pants that had v-cut openings at the waist. The boy had bright blue eyes that stood out due to the red lines that were drawn around his eyes, and to top it off he had spiky white blond hair that grew out and hung down his back and to his waist. It was a very shocking appearance to taken in all at once and it didn't help out that the temperature around his body was extremely cold. "They.. Uh, they... They went that way! Down the street, towards the shopping district" The woman stuttered out after finally regaining her wits, but Sai simply shook his head and sighed. It was too late, it was going to be neigh impossible to track them down at this rate. Whoever it was, was definitely already hiding and going through their pot. "Hn... They're gone. I'm sorry... When you get a chance, you should definitely report this in and request a mission to take care of this." The boy said, crossing his arms over his chest and nodding his head in a confirming manner before turning and walking away leaving the woman to stare after him bewildered at the strange interaction. The moment she regained herself, Sai was gone and she was left there in a rage over the stupid white haired boy and the group of vandals that just robbed her store. Sai sat lazily on the top of a telephone pole, his legs dangled below him as he kept himself propped up with his two hands firmly gripped onto the pole. For the last few hours the boy had been up there watching and waiting, his bright blue eyes scouring the village quietly in hopes of something to happen. Anything. But more specifically a robbery. While he had told the woman to report it in for a mission so a team of shinobi could take care of it, he had done that more in hopes of getting himself a mission without directly getting one. The woman had gotten robbed in the early portion of the morning, she would have plenty of time to put the mission in before noon, and if Sai would be able to find and capture the thieves, he would have completed the mission before the team assigned to it could even get a chance to organize, maybe even be assigned to the mission itself. It would be a great victory and his name would get a great start at meeting up with the standards that were left behind by his parents. It would even get his foot in for getting more missions for him and Sorain, it was a great plan and the only thing that was messing it up was those god forsaken robbers. They were no where to be seen. Sai sighed heavily, his eye brows furrowing in frustration as he did and his eyes glared at the village more ferociously then before. He just needed to be patient, they would show up eventually. They had too, they just had too... And logically they would too. There had been a new shop that being constructed in one of the more rougher parts of the village and it had just opened recently in the week and had yet to be touched, it was like a crowning jewel with fresh merchandise and it was in such a bad part of the village. It was as though it was screaming to be robbed and pilfered. Sai knew that he would if he was a thief, and that was what he was banking on, cause if they did try to rob the place... if they showed up and robbed the place, the boy would be on them before they even knew what was happening. It was an all too easy and simple plan, and the only hitch was Sai's patience... And it was winding down quickly, with no sign of stopping or slowing down either. 100 Lines

Sai yawned lightly, his hand raising up to attempt to rub the weariness from his eyes. It was well past noon and the burglars had yet to show themselves still. It was highly possible that they wouldn't show up either, despite how great the bait was they had already robbed one shop today, who was to say that they were going to rob another for the day. With a sigh, Sai brought his feet to the top of the pole before delicately pushing himself up to stand on the narrow top of the phone pole, his bright blue eyes gazing towards the misty horizon. Two more hours was all he was going to give this and then he would go... Well go anywhere but here, most likely home as there was truthfully little else for him to do in a world where he had no friends and the only family he had was no where to be found at all for the entire day. Shaking his head and the thoughts with it out of his head, Sai tilted foreword and began running down the base of the pole carefully, his arms held to either side of him to keep his balance as he gained speed with each step. Nearing the middle of the pole's base, he bent his knees more causing his upper half to tilt dangerously foreword before kicking off and flipping once in the air, the tips of his toes landing carefully on the edge of a near by building's ledge.
Looking over his shoulder slowly, Sai watched the crowd busy on by in the street below, completely unaware of his existence or the gymnastic performance he had just displayed. Though there were a few eyes on him, their existences were hidden from Sai's searching eyes, and soon they were back to whatever they were doing before as he was back to making his move.
Taking a few steps, Sai hopped off the ledge and continued to walk down the rooftop. He was currently standing on a block's worth of building tops packed together with only a few gaps here and there for the narrow alley ways that spiraled between them and formed a miniature maze. Bending over Sai picked up a small rock and held it in his hand, weighing it's weight and size in his palm before closing his fingers around it and feeling over it's grooves and pock holes. With a quiet 'ahem', the boy cleared his throat and continued walking across the roof, his fingers idly twirling and flicking the small rock between them in a little game. It was a simple game, flick the rock with a finger or two causing it to pop up a few centimeters and when it came back down flick it again, and continue the process without dropping the rock, with each passing flick the direction of the rock would sharply change making it more difficult to keep up with it at a steady pace as each flick would increase the momentum, and preforming tricks such as rolling your entire hand around the rock in mid air before flicking it again quickly only served to make keeping up more difficult. It was a childish game but it kept Sai entertained for the better part of his life, allowing the boorish minutes of hours in days to flicker by a little faster.
With a sigh, the boy flicked the rock up high in the air and caught it in the palm of his gloved hand. Curling his fingers around it, he turned his fist towards his face and inspected the minor cuts and bruises he had gained from playing the game with the rock, the skin cherry red with the smarting pains. Shrugging slightly Sai ignored the pain, allowing its existence to ebb away slowly as he turned to his eyes back to the store he had been staking out as he was now standing on the rooftop just across the street from it. 135 Lines

((100 vs 50 = 55%)) ((Taking the mission twice))
Sai grumbled loudly to himself as his bright blue eyes glared irritably at the new store that had yet to be bothered with at all in all the hours of the god forsaken day. Tightening his grip around the rock in his fist firmly, the boy wished for the strength to pulverize the stone into sand as his patience finally began to wore to its very end. He could have spent his entire day doing something else, anything else. Granted he didn't have anything actually in mind he might have just found something better to do then this bullshit event. All he had managed was to get was bed sores on his a** for sitting on that uncomfortably hard phone pole for so long and he did it for what? To find out that those bloody thieves weren't going to rob another store today... Shaking his head sadly, Sai turned his back to the shop and began to walk away from shop. Coincidentally as Sai left, the robbers came, sneaking their way out from the alley way that opened from the very building that the boy was standing on.
But Sai noticed none of this as he walked away frustrated at his day ill spent. He completely missed the crash of glass as the trio rampaged into the store and tossed things around, nor did he notice the yelp of the store owner calling for help when they first came in. In a few moments the owner was bashed over the head with a lamp, spiraling him into the shelf behind him and causing all the products there to topple over and bury him in an avalanche of metal and copper. Uncaring to his welfare one of the thieves walked over his body and emptied the cash register of all of its contents as the other two calmly walked up and down the aisles like normal customers, picking out the products that they liked the most and carrying it back to the front counter. Jokingly the first thief scanned the parcels and told them the price, the other two pretending to be a couple stepped back in aghast at the overwhelming price and at once got into a bickering fit that ended with various small parcels being thrown back and forth between the impostor shop owner and the impostor customers.
However the game came to a sudden end as a hefty metal object connected with the impostor customer pretending to be the wife, leaving the man hunched over in pain as he clasped his hand over his eye and cursed loudly. Worriedly, the two others rushed to his side trying to hold and ssh him quiet as they tried to pry his hand away to see his face. It was comedic to watch as the three grown men behaved like high school kids, the hurt one pushing away the one that hurt him as he tried to apologize and help out, all together forgetting that they were robbing a store, damaging property and assaulting the shop owner. After a few minutes of bickering and apologizing the trio were hugging each other and gathering their stuff in the plastic bags that were used for paying customers. With a chuckle, the three left, a moment later one returned to grab a lollipop that was offered for sale in the lower shelves at the counter, tapped the little bell that was on the counter top, flipped the sign on the door to say closed and closed the shop door before quickly running after his two friends.
All the while, Sai had found his way back down to the main streets walking amongst the crowd in an angry upset, his head tucked to his chest and his shoulders firmly poked out to knock away anyone that got in his way. He had wasted his entire day on nothing, completely and absolutely nothing. The thieves never came, and he couldn't see why he would think they why they would come at all in the first place. They had already robbed a store for the day, in the early bits of the morning, they didn't want to risk getting caught so of course they wouldn't show up again. Shoot they probably wouldn't be around for another week or two depending on how big their loot was from that store was. At once Sai growled loudly and slapped his hand to his forehead in frustration. He hadn't taken this entire event the correct way, he knew better then this. The first thing he should have done when he realized it was too late to chase after the thieves the first time, was to question the lady on their appearance and make a list of what they had stolen. At least this way he would have been able to spot them out before they got to their hideout or if they did, he'd be able to look around in the back alleyways to catch them selling the loot.
Growling, Sai spun on his heel and pushed his way through the crowd as he tried to make his way back to the first shop that had been robbed, surely he would be able to find out the information he needed there. Then he would be able to find the damn thieves no matter where they went. He could search for them on a daily basis, going from one part of the village to another and it would be his pet project until he finally caught them or an actual squad got to them. Hopefully though, he would be able to catch them before any squad did... It really was the only way he could imagine to get his foot in the door and force the Daiyamo to allow him and his brother to do more then just train, to do real missions and be a real help for his country. Rather then just being locked up for years upon years inside some stupid castle hidden from civilization... That wasn't what he wanted, nor was it what Sorain wanted. And he knew it wasn't what his parents wanted for them, it was the last thing they would want for them... To be locked up and forced into solitude for years on end, doing nothing but training and training and more training. If it wasn't training it was studying, reading various pieces of literature, training manuals, philosophy, history, battle plans, and the such. It had been interesting and fun in the beginning but now it had grown tedious and boring, rereading the same things so to memorize them, analyzing materials in different ways only felt like the same thing in different words, and despite the huge collection of new materials that only grew by the day, it still felt like the same thing. As though history only proved to repeat itself endlessly, so long as their was a government involved, they always did the same thing, the only difference may have been how they went about it and how long they were allowed to do it before another government replaced them and did it all over again.
Sai shook his head of the thoughts, they were not the type of thoughts that he needed at the moment, he would save those for his more idle time so he could analyze them and digest it before developing his own ideas and such. But right now... Right now he was on a mission, albeit not a real one and more of a pet project, but a mission in his mind nonetheless. And the current goal was to the question the lady that had been robbed earlier. "Ah! Excuse me, sorry." Sai muttered as he practically bulldozed a trio of guys carrying a bunch of bags, not stopping to help the one he knocked over Sai continued to run off to the store that was a few more blocks ahead.
The guy that was knocked over got up quickly and opened his mouth to curse Sai but was quickly hushed by one of his two friends. Helping the fallen guy regather his stuff, he pulled him by the arm and continued moving foreword, his head bent as he talked in a soft tone. "That guy... The one with the white hair. He's a shinobi. I don't know what he's playing at but I remember seeing him sitting on a telephone pole a couple blocks near that fat b*****d's shop that we just jacked. I also saw him walking around that street after we left it. And now he's here?" The guy said in his hush, hush tone, the other two guys staring at him with growing wide eyes. "You don't mean to say..." One began, "... He might be looking for us? Do you..." The second picked up but trailed off, beads of sweat running down his face despite the cool temperature. The idea that they may have been caught was making him paranoid and it was clearly beginning to show. "Relax..." The first man said, it was now obvious he was the leader of the group as he now tried to calm the two down, specifically the one that was beginning to hyperventilate, the gleaming mark where something metal him in the eye shining nastily as he did. "Look, the guy obviously doesn't recognize us and is in a rush to get some where. I'm only mentioning this so you guys can keep your guard up and eyes open. Don't draw too much attention to us, cause we don't need him to come snooping around us and what not. So... Just chill out and lets get back to the base." He said decisively, the other two nodding in agreement before continuing to follow him, both now some what more relaxed. 222 Lines

((100 vs 50))
Sai walked out of the store a few minutes later. his hand rubbing his chin softly as he sighed heavily. So the thieves were two girls in their mid twenties that had stolen expensive jewelry and perfumes from behind the front desk and ran away. The crash from before was the owner throwing a glass vase at them. It was the first time they had pulled this snatch and go in the store and at this point the owner knew their faces by heart. They were both around five foot five, had shoulder length black hair that they pulled black ski caps over, one had blue eyes while the other was green, the blue eyed one wore hideous black eyeliner with blue eyeshadow, and the other wore no make up but had a distinctive birth mark on her right eyebrow that was in the shape of a hook. The woman even knew that they hung around in the southeast part of the village, she suspected that they might live or sold their loot there.
A wide grin was plastered on Sai's lips as he ran from rooftop to rooftop, his bright blue eyes scanning the streets as he leaped over them to get to the next roof. He was about to close this damn mission right now, there was no way he was going to let those girls out of this grasps now that he knew where to find them and what they looked like. And damn well he was going to make sure that he hadn't wasted his entire day doing nothing but putting himself on a wild goose hunt.
Stopping at the edge of a rooftop, Sai took a long survey of the area he was in. It wasn't exactly rundown but it wasn't all that great either, definitely not a place he found hospitable. There were groups of people walking around everywhere... In fact there wasn't a single person not walking in a group. "Heh. Tough area.." The boy muttered to himself, his bright blue eyes still making their sweep of the streets in hopes of catching the girls on them by chance but it didn't take long to realize that they weren't out there. Sighing, Sai took a step foreword and dropped down to the street below, coming to a quiet land in front of a trio of guys. Turning his head to look at them, Sai's blue eyes glared at them intimidatingly so to ensure no bullshit came out of their mouths, "You three. You wouldn't possibly know where I can find these thiev-.." Before Sai could even finish his sentence, the guy to the right that had a swollen eye tossed his bags at Sai and ran away screaming, "YOU'LL NEVER TAKE ME!!!" The other three out of the desperation their partner put them in, likewise threw their bags at Sai and took off in run behind him.
The entire situation left Sai in a startled fit, the bizarreness of the event had yet to sink in completely. Were all the people in these type of areas as stereotypical as they were described? Fearful of authority and constantly paranoid that it was their turn to be taken away. Shaking his head, Sai took one of the bags that had been thrown at him and took a peek into their contents. They were all products from that store he had been staking out before, but he could have sworn no one had went there all day. In fact it had closed not that long after he left, he remembered that cause he had backtracked to get back to the first store and noticed the closed sign on it's door... With his teeth gritted tight and his eyes glaring on the fleeing targets, Sai took off after them with a speed that was all together not natural for a regular person, "GET BACK HERE YOU THIEVES!" Sai howled but at no avail as the trio just continued running, but it made little difference. Sai was soon upon them, grabbing the nearest two by the back of their necks and tossing them to the side, the both of them rolling constantly with increased speed until hitting the wall of an abandoned building loudly. They were soon joined by the last member as Sai caught up to him and sent him flying into the door of the old building. "So... You two are the thieves from that store, eh?" 260 Lines

The three guys were crawling and huddling next to each other tightly as Sai towered over them with a vicious smile, his gaze on them only until the door behind them opened to what should have been an abandoned building. "Who the hell is making so much noise out here?!" There were two girls standing at the doorway, glaring at the four guys that were outside the building. One had blue eyes with black eyeliner and blue eye shadow and the other was green eyed with a birthmark above her eye in the shape of a hook. They both had short black hair and were obviously in their twenties. The smile that stretched over Sai's face only curved more demonically as he glared at the two girls as well, "Jack pot.."
It was a hour later and Sai was resting quietly on the roof of his house, in his hands was a bundle of money that every so often he thumbed through happily. Today was a successful day, and surprisingly lucky. Who knew two sets of thieves would so welcomely fall right into his open arms? But he wasn't going to complain. Although one thing did bother him... When he had brought them in to collect his reward and get mission info onto his shinobi profile, it took them forever to locate his profile. It was a given that they would have a hard time seeing as he hadn't been active for eleven years but still, it seemed more like it never existed and when they did locate it there was something strange about the way the man had looked at him. Almost as if Sai wasn't supposed to be there and he had done something wrong by helping out... But Sai simply shrugged the thoughts out of his mind. Now all there was left to do was wait for his brother to show up and discuss their day's events, he was sure today he had the better story~

A cold chill fell over the area momentarily before instantly dispersing itself. Sorain stood with his arms folded into his sleeves, eyes closed, head facing down towards the roof that now served as a floor below his feet. "You seem to have been busy today brother" He said peacefully without moving a single muscle. Over the years Sorain had come to terms with his blindness, it no longer really served as all that much of a handicap, however old habits did in deed die hard, forcing him to keep some of his reserved ways although one thing that he did change was his innate need to turn his face towards people when he spoke. Sorain turned and took a seat, allowing his feet to dangle off of the edge of the roof over the ground. He took a deep breath, sucking in the scent and moistness of the air that always signaled to him that they were home in the mist village. A scent that over the years he had grown so used to that he could hardly imagine being in a place that did not have such a smell lingering in the air. Sorain sighed to himself, trying to imagine what this place must look like. It was where he grew up, it was the one place he had ever experienced any happiness, how desperately he wished that he could have seen it at least once.
Sorain leaned forward and began imagining the day everything had changed so desperatly for them. It was snowing then, the thought alone caused the skies above him to rain down illusionary snow all over the house, a subconscious effect that seemed to always happen when Sorain was at this house.

"Ya think?" Sai said in a soft chuckle, his body shifting to lean against his brother as he sat down next to him. It was a strange sight to see, the two of them were identical twins and the only difference between them was the clothes they wore, a slightly different hair style and the fact that Sorain was blind while Sai was not. "But before I get into it, tell me. What have you been up to all day? You didn't have any training scheduled today, so where have you been." He questioned his brother, his head leaning back so he could look at Sorain's face upside down.

Three sounds echoed through the air: The first was a repeating thunking noise. It sounded dull, with mild reverberation; wooden hammers on wooden structures. The second was sharp sound that went in and out like breath. After so many zings, the rhythmic sound would end, be followed by a hollow thunk, and a minute later, it would begin again. This sound came from a two man saw, slicing up several trunks being used for the project. The final sound was a rumble at first, but all at once, it would raise in volume, then go down. A sharp cry, then another low rumble, then a thud. This was the sound of people moving heavy trunks and beams for the temple.
Before he even made it up the hundreds of mossy, hand-laid stone stairs, he already knew this was a huge project. All of these sounds signaled its serious nature. Through the bamboo-lined torii gate, he saw sawhorses holding boards and tree trunks. Men with large saws cut the trees into useable cuts, then another team shaped them into practical beams. The next ground sanded them down with course grit, then after that, they were piled high to be used. This project took up the entire Temple courtyard. Any other space open was being used for sun-drying clay roof tiles for the massive hip and gable roof. From the way it looked, these tiles were made days or weeks ago, and were ready for use.
Kyuzaku walked across the courtyard and into the Temple, where he could clearly see the damage. There was a large puddle in the middle of the room from the regions common rainfall pouring through the fallen-in roof. Broken board and disintegrated wood sat at the center of the temple, wit a few shattered roof tiles mixed in on top like sprinkles on a cake. Volunteers picked up the mess, put what they could into wheelbarrows, and then wheeled out the trash to dispose of outside. Watching the cleanup was a well dressed geriatric of the Temple. As old and frail as he looked, the combination of hand-carved cane, snow-white Fu Manchu moustache, and thick, sturdy cloud-white eyebrows gave the impression that this man was of great importance and wisdom. Kyuzaku made a note to himself to treat him with great respect upon approach.
Beyond the frail old man was the stature of the the Temple's deity, Buddha himself. Now, this wasn't the 'fat' and jolly Buddha Kyuzaku had seen in food shops and restaurants, this was the Supreme Buddah. His granite face was soft, calm, and mildly effeminate. He had a dot on his forehead, and extended earlobes. The statue had curly hair formed into a topknot. Although the figure in the sculpture had flowing robes, it was clear that he had a supple, healthy body. He sat cross legged on his platform mount, and with his hands in a Buddhist meditation hand seal. All around on his platform were small lamps that both burned incense and light up the calm, stone benefactor.
A bird flew in from the crashed-in roof, and perched itself on the statue's shoulders. Following that bird came in three or four more white songbirds that took rest on his arms, and shoulders. Sunlight crept in from behind a cloud and in through the accidental skylight. The light fell upon the bird-bearing stature with incredible serenity. Kyuzaku, who never took any time to look into the religion, felt something strange. The massive statue was inspiring, especially in such transcendent lighting. Lost in the moment, he never noticed the old man from before making a move. In Kyuzaku's stunned condition, he had walked across the temple and next to the Hoshigaki, "You are the ninja sent to aid us in rebuilding, are you not?"
Kyuzaku nearly jumped out of his scales; he wasn't expecting the old man at all, "Oh, yes, I am, sir. My name is Kyuzaku Hoshigaki, and I'm at your service."
The old man nodded, "I see that you've seen the same light I have. This Temple mishap may actually be a blessing, don't you think? The way that the light shines down from above, and the way that it illuminates the shrine in this way... It's ideal for worship." The shark-ninja nodded, "Truly a masterpiece. But, sir, wouldn't that require us to change the layout of many of the pillars in the building? This temple is already under too much stress. Look at the ceiling, some of the wooden beams have begun to bow from the stress."
The old man smiled, showing off his lack of teeth. From beneath those catapillar-brows, he was calculating. After a short pause, he said, "Aha... But isn't that why we hired the Mist? Speak to the architect, as I already have. He will direct you to your first task."
