Player list:
Sengdroma
Kaida

---------------------------

User Image

Kaida had been travelling for a while, her herd was due to join with another by marriage in a few seasons and the competitions for the strongest herd protector were to be held soon.... Kaida had tried to train with the others, but they had laughed and taunted her because she was female. That didn't mean she could win -if anything it made Kaida more determined to do just that. She would prove that gender had NOTHING to do with power and strength, nothing to do with ability or cunning.

No, Kaida was just as good if not better than any man.... she just needed to train first.

That was why she was here, wandering with the intention to fight and prove herself. She wasn't looking for a fight simply to destroy, or murder or steal, but to better herself... surely someone would understand.

Still, the journey was rough and her throat was starting to burn from her thirst. She looked ahead, the meadow she had wandered into was surrounded on two sides by trees... but... she squinted... yes, there was water... a lake or something similar not to far ahead.

With a smile and a skip in her step she redoubled her efforts and made her way to the cooling life given liquid. Everything would seem better after a drink..... right?

User ImageIt had been a few days now since Sengdroma had blessed the new foals into the ranks of the herd. She had watched them all, they had been filled with excitement and wonder. It made her think back to the days that her own children had been that age.. They seemed to have grown so fast. Sengdroma was enjoy the crisp breeze that blew thru the opening around the lake. Winter was moving in, the wind now held a bite to it as it passed.

Not far from the edge of the lake there were berry bushes, adorned with what would probably be the last of the berries until spring. She pulled them off a few at a time, enjoying the sweet juice within.

Suddenly, appearing in the distance, a bright blue figure making its way towards the lake. While Sengdroma did not mind sharing her herd's drinking hole with others, she was protective of them and casually checked out any newcomers to their lands.

Licking the last of the juice from her lips, she turned to walk towards the stranger, a nicker of greetings while she was still a safe distance away.

Kaida took the first mouthful of the cooling liquid, closing her eyes to savour the flavour and taste. This water tasted... different, sweeter some how than the water she was use to. She made a rough 'mmmmmm' sounds in the back of her throat before her ears turned and twisted at the introduction of a new sound.

Instinctively she turned.

Eyes landing on a grounded mare.... she cocked and eyebrow and was about to dismiss her to return to her drink when she noticed something. At first glance the mare seemed... plain, yet now she was looking -really looking- she noticed the well defined muscles that were clearly toned through some type of training below her pelt. A runner perhaps? Kaida wasn't stupid enough to believe everyone had such muscles through training. "Afternoon..." she said, taking a guess at the time. It wasn't as if time mattered to her, as long as she returned home before the full moon she would be fine.

Kaida clucked her tongue and turned around, folding her flutter wings delicatly to her sides. She supposed it could be interpretted as a viasble reminder that she wasn't grounded but the truth was it was an automatic responce that she often wasn't even aware of.

"Can I help you?" She asked at last, wondering why the mare had zoomed in on her..... sure there was no one else around but that didn't automatically make her a 'talk to me' target.

Thanks to training regularly with the protectors of her herd, she was indeed more toned than some were use to seeing mares. Sengdroma stopped a few yards away from the mare with a welcoming smile.

"Sengdroma, Miakodo herd." she took a moment to take in the mare. She looked like a fighter. Elegant, but a fighter none the less as she noted the weapon attached to her side. "This is our home, and you are a stranger..." Her voice didn't come out threatening, just merely stating the fact at hand. "As Alpha it is one of my duties to protect my herd, and so here we are."

The stranger was beautiful, very unique in every sense of the word. Sengdroma sensed no danger coming from the mare, but she would not simply turn her back and let her roam freely. "Your business here?"

Kaida felt slightly foolish, she hadn't even considered the concept that the land she was travelling on could possibly belong to a herd... she knew of herds of course, she was from one. And this mare was an alpha? Interesting. From Kaida's knowlegde there were many kinds of alpha's, some where maternal and gentle souls. Others were rough and ready, willing to fight to keep was was 'theres'... they were of course the two most popular ones, her own alpha was very maternal -it was part of the reason why mares were seen as mothers rather than fighters, and although she loved her alpha she couldn't help feeling a little jaded due to the struggles she experienced being a female wanting to take the path of a warrior.

She sighed. "My business is my own." She said, standing tall and taking a brief look around, again her eyes lingered on the well toned muscles of this Sengdroma's legs. Was she a warrior? Could she possible help her....

Kaida didn't dare believe it but with another sigh decided to risk it. "My name is Kaida and I am seeking a challenge. I wish to test my fighting skills in preparation for my herds champion battles." She would say no more, give away no more secrets of her herd. She was loyal and would not see them placed in danger because of her foolishness. Trust could kill if not given correctly.

"Welcome to our home, Kaida," she bobbed her head in greetings. She had been right, this mare was a fighter, and she had come looking for a challenge. Sengdroma had several protectors that she was sure would be willing to help in a spar, especially with such a beautiful mare. But then, she herself could also use a good spar now and again.

Her ears perked and her head tilted slightly, "We have several in our herd that could help you if you'd like. What type of challenge are you looking for?" she took a few more steps closer to the mare, closing the gap so that speaking became easier. "You could spar with one of our protectors or myself if you choose. Though there will be no weapons," she motioned to the sword at the mare's side.

Kaida listened, and as the mention of her sword came up she turned her head in suprise. Sure enough it was still there, Kaida never used it to fight, it was simply a symbol... it was a badge of honour in many ways, given to those who had proved their value at protecting the herd... but still she was not fully accepted within their ranks, she wondered if a female ever could.

With a sigh she shook her head; "I agree. This is not for fighting anyways, it is merely... symbolic of my status." Ok, so she had revealed something else... but nothing that would harm the herd, no locations or hiarachy. For all this alpha before her knew it was a sign that she was from a warrior herd, or maybe that she was from a royal line... there were many possibilities.

She turned and caught the buckled in her mouth before pulling. The sword and straps fell away easily and landed on the ground near the lake with a soft 'thud'. Slowly Kaida faced the alpha of this 'Miakoda' herd again, wondering who she should take up on for her kind offer. It wasn't every day you were offered a fight against another herd or alpha -especially one that was not allied. It made her wonder what secrets the other mare kept, was she a grounded but the rest of her more... kalonas or demons of somesort perhaps? Did such blood run through her own veins? Perhaps that was the truth about what Kaida was sensing around her.... something more than the average soquili.

Still, it would be rude not to take up her offer... and the sword was already off.... "I would rather enjoy a sparring match against you." She selected the alpha for two reasons. One) it was rare you got to challenge an alpha unless you wanted their possition -which Kaida didn't. Two) Kaida had never sparred against another female.... it would be an experience she would not soon forget.

Sengdroma listened as the mare explained, a smile crossed her face. She was glad to hear that it was not used for fighting, "It is a beautiful symbol. Would you like to lean it against the tree instead of letting it lie in the dirt?" she motioned towards some trees that were nearby. She would hate for the sword to gather muck during the match.

The Alpha bobbed her head in acceptance, she always enjoyed a good match up. This mare was fit and by her explination, she would be a skilled fighter if she was a protector of her herd as she stated.

"What are your rules?" she knew the rules of her own, but she would abide by the rules of this mare so that she could train in the fashion she needed.

Kaida nodded in agreement as she picked up her sword and ties before following Sengdroma to the tree. When there she placed it carefully down, she would clean and tend to it when she got home, knowing that it would be an easy task... especially with her herd to help. One could probably tell simply by looking at Kaida that she always took care in her appearance, that didn't mean she was against getting dirty or messed up -but she did like looking her best the first time she met someone. After all, first impressions spoke volumes.

As the alpha spoke of rules Kaida found herself slightly suprised, she was in the other mares herdlands... surely they would follow their rules? "Would you not prefer your own sparring rules? Given we are in your territory?" She cocked her head slightly to the side and watched... wondering if they sparred much here, or if she was simply being polite by offering to accept Kaida's rules over her own? Deciding she didn't wish to offend the mare and her generosity. "If it is your pleasure to use my rules. 1. No blows intended to do mame or damage the body perminatly, that includes death blows. 2. Any attacks to the head should only be taps -to prove the point rather than cause damage. 3. The first to fifteen points wins. Controlled attack using front or rear hoof technique: One point. Controlled slam to the body: Two points. Controlled kick or attack to the head: Three points. I believe that is it. Anything to add Alpha Sengdroma?" She asked, using the mares title as a sign of respect.

She nodded as the mare explained their rules, they were similiar to her own. A broad smile broke across her face as Kaida used her title when addressing her, "Please, Just Sengdroma. We are not so formal except in ceremony," she laughed and took a few steps out into the clearing.

She lowered her head for a moment then straightened herself to her proper stance. "Shall we begin?" her smiled dropped and her face was serious. Though sparring was more for technique, she still treated it as any competition.

Kaida nodded, a smile of her own covering he lips as she entered the larger space of the cleaning. She took in her surroundings in one clean sweep -the mare had the advantage when it came to the ground, it was likely Sengdroma knew every lump and bump, every hill and tree but Kaida would have to play it by here on that front. She could see the lake they had just been at, knew there was several trees behind her, and open space that eventually lead to a forest far behind Sengdroma. Interesting.

"Indeed." Was all she said before she leaped forward, closing ths distance swiftly with the aid of her small size, light bones and wings that caught the air and used it to her advantage.

Her target was to tap the other mare on the nose with her own.... hoping the suprise at her sudden attack would catch her off guard.

RNG:
1- Missed
2- Hit

((When we get further into the fight I will probably use the dice and have several options listed so feel free to do whatever method you wish. This was is just more of a hit or miss attack.))

The surprise attack worked, Sengdroma would have to keep a closer eye on this female. She was quicker than the males she was use to training with.

Quickly she recentered herself, for now she wanted to work on her own blocking. She could attack fine, but her blocking on her left side always worried her..it was her weak point in battle. She readied herself for the next attack, ready to move or block when the warrioress came at her.

1-Block
2-Miss

"Three." Keeping score. It was all Kaida said as she moved backwards and started to circle the mare, she could have shrunk but for some reason she saw that as cheating, she already had a physical advantage of her wings -nothing she could do about them, they were as natural as breathing for her... but it felt wrong to use her magic.

Deciding to attack the left side next she gave a quick slam with her rump before rebounding off. It was clear the mare had wanted to block but had failed in her attempt. "Five." She was a third of the way through, but Kaida was under the impression that like a snake watching and oberserving the mare before her was simply biding her time, calculating her attack... she would be cautious, not point letting a few points go to her head when all that mattered was the victory. She had lost to her herdmates before on fourteen points to fifteen... anything was possible. The fun had just begun.

She circled her prey once more... deciding what to do.

RNG:
1- Wait for Sengdroma to attack or make a move.
2- Move to Sengdromas left side again and attempt to attack but missed.
3- Move to Sengdromas left side again and attempt to attack and hit.
4- Go to make a quick tap to Sengdromas head and hit.
5- Go to make a quick tap to Sengdromas head and missed.
6- Make a move to slam Sengdroma and miss.

Sengdroma's eyes were fixed on the mare as she circled.. wait... wait... She saw as the mare moved towards her left, she refused to show an expression on her face that she was worried about that choice. As the mare moved in, Sengdroma quickly side stepped causing the mare to slide past her.

As the mare moved past, Sengdroma:

1- Lets her go without movement
2- Attempts to tap her shoulder with her nose, miss
3- Attempts to tap her shoulder with her nose, hit
4- Nips at the mare's rump, miss
5- n** at the mare's rump, hit
6- Lets her go without movement

"Five. Two." She said, classing the move as 'slam' since no hooves were used and the attack was not to Kaida's head. Time to stop playing games. Focused and determined she turned swiftly after Sengdroma's attack and moved for one of her own.

RNG:
1- Raises her hooves up to hit the mare on the rump. Misses.
2- Raises her hooves up to hit the mare on the rump. Hits.
3- Moved with a praticed speed and slams into Sengdroma pushing her backwards.
4- Used her wings to make dust rise around her in an effort to confuse Sengdroma.... then she moves to tap the mare on the rump. Misses.
5- Used her wings to make dust rise around her in an effort to confuse Sengdroma.... then she moves to tap the mare on the rump. Hits.
6- Moves closer to the lake..... a plan forming.
