Name: Connor Age: 18 Gender: Male
History: Connor isn't sure exactly who his parents were and to be truthful he doesn't much care, as far as he's concerned his foster family (A guard and his wife) are the only family who really matter. He was not the only child in the family, indeed the guard and his wife seemed had a handful of their own children before taking Connor in.
All in all Connor grew up with four older brothers, as the youngest, though not the only adopted, child in the family Connor grew up to develop a rather thick skin from all the sibling rivalry that went on as well as the intense desire to prove himself to his foster parents whose attentions were understandably spread somewhat thin. Connor didn't want to be just another one of their children..he wanted to be the stand out - the one they could look at and be proud of and he was willing to do almost anything to do it.
As a youth he was somewhat reckless, rarely turning down a dare or adventure that might earn him if not some recognition at least some attention from his parents, as he grew into a teen however his attentions turned to a more productive future, he considered and then discarded the idea of becoming a guard and turned his eyes to being a Dragonrider.
Of course just wanting to be a Dragonrider wasn't enough to actually become one but Connor was determined - he figured that there was a good chance he could be searched, his parents were likely prisoners and all the prisoners were Dragonriders. He reckoned that meant it ran in his blood and when he heard of the clutch he presented himself as a possible candidate.
Appearance:
Connor is what some women would call striking or memorable, he's not handsome in the typical sense as his features are just a touch to sharp. But his expressive hazel eyes and light brown curly hair seem to soften said features just enough to keep him from being deemed ugly and unattractive.
He's average in height and vain enough to keep his person tidy and in shape for the most part being seen in clean if well used clothing.
Personality: Connor seems to have one goal in life - to climb as far as he possibly can up the heirarchy on Nowhere Islands and he's pretty damn sure that he can get there. Confident in his abilities - perhaps a bit too confident at times, Connor tends to take an optomistic view of the world he lives in and he's sure it will only get better once he has a bit more clout and say so around here.
He's a meticulous worker, taking care that all details are seen to properly when questioned about this somewhat excessive tendency to make sure things are just so he'll tell the questioner that even the best plans can be ruined if someone overlooks some small but important detail - and thats a belief he'll stick to until the biter end. He's not above being a bit manipulative when it comes to people either - if it will help him further his goals and rise higher then he'll almost certainly try and make it happen - the rest of you be damned.
It's very rare that Connor will act without thinking about it first, he tends to be very deliberate and focused in every aspect, he's more then willing to play the 'brave' card when it comes to facing danger but he's pretty vigilent to make sure he dosen't get into a situation that would hamper him in the long run, which is likely why he never applied to be a white candidate - they're far to controversial - through he'll tell people it was because he wanted the deeper connection the other dragons offered.
Because he likes to plot and plan as many details as he possibly can Connor sometimes dosen't take well to swift wide sweeping changes to said plans...though he's wilng to be flexible if someone can point out to him why this new way is better then the one he'd figured out...and it better be a pretty convinceing argument too becaue of Connor dosen't see the value in the new plans he's as stubborn as a herdbeast about accepting change.
In reality Connor is a very self-aborbed individual, looking out for number one and movinghimself up the ladder is far more important to him then helping someone else advance..but he's not stupid and has realized that sometimes helping others now can come back to help him later. So he puts on a front od craing and 'doing the good deed' when useful people ask for assistence. This somewhat two faced front also extends to his interactions with people - while he might want to be gruff and is inwardly quite cynical he's learned that appearing to be pleasant gets him further in life.
That dosen't mean he wants to be pleasant or help however, which show up in his more reserved way of dealing with social events - quite honestly he'd prefer to pass on them thank you very much, he's found that spend to much time with others just means he winds up with more favors asked from his so called 'friends'. It's better to just avoid them and n** all that off at the pass, unless it's beneficial in some way for him to be there - then I wouldn't expect him to bother.
He's not very good at sharing either - in fact Connor is almost secretive when it comes to what he consider's 'important information', if you think he's going to tel you everything about him and everything he knows then you've had to much to drink - he can't be going about giving people a leg up on him, come on now...
Is this character being trained as a 'White Candidate'? No
