Hello, darlin’s,
look at your life,
now back to me,
now back at your life,
now back to me.
Sadly, yer life isn’t mine, but if yer willin’ ta take yer head out of yer arse and and make a wager, you could make yer life a whole lot better.
Look down, back up, where are you?
You’re in class and I’m offerin’ ya a one-way ticket from Dullsville.
What’s in your hand?
Back at me.
I have it, it’s a deck of cards or dice for that game you love.
Look again, the deck/dice is now silver pumpkin seeds.
Anythin’ is possible when you’re livin’ on the edge, ‘stead of being a busybody loser.
You know you wanna.
Now I’m a pony horse.

AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

User Image
Name: Kegan ó Conghaile (Pronounced: KEH-gan or KAY-gan O'Connolly)
Nicknames: K, Keggers, Pony-Boy (right there with you, Cel)
Gender: Male
Age: About 100 years old, give or take. He’s quite young for his race, however, and looks about 16.

Faction/Race: Monster; Pooka (sidhe aka fairy)

Personality:

Everything is within the presentation. Kegan is coming to Amityville High in hopes of building himself a reputation, and that means preserving his image at all costs. What is that image, you may ask? Nothing less than that of a total sleazeball. It is Kegan’s every intention to have you believe that he is shady, mysterious, and undeniably clever. His actions in public tend to fall along this line. He may not seem trustworthy, or even very polite, but he’s got confidence and the sort of swagger that can make one look twice. Are you in need of contraband? Kegan can probably get it for you (aka he can contact his friends back home to send it to him), for the right price. Or perhaps he has something for you that you never knew you wanted, much less ‘needed’, before. He’s a showman and a bit of a hustler - allow him to rope you in and you could end up anywhere.

Kegan can and will talk to everyone. He’s never met a stranger, and everyone’s a potential customer, if not a victim for his favorite hobby: practical jokes. After all, what’s life without a little fun? A little chaos? Generally, these acts of random amusement have a purpose set behind them, though it’s not always apparent or even fueled by a sound reason. They may be crude, childish things (planting Splodies in the right place seems to be his specialty) or rather involved (luring someone into a trap).

People who have met Kegan can say he’s friendly, even if he’s a bit of a boisterous jerk, and those who know him will say that he doesn’t seem very serious. He seems to flit around everywhere -clubs, social circles, individual ‘friends’- while giving away little and commiting to nothing. His morals seem shaky- he seems to accept the views of others far too easily, wearing an air of ease and nonchalance in the face of most situations. He offers few personal opinions. He is a compulsive liar and a chronic embellisher of the truth; a storyteller. In class, he will likely be something of a class clown, showing that, indeed, he is just insane enough to turn a trick for the sake of livening things up. It’s assumed he will have many a detention, which he may also attempt to usurp. No doubt, he is a troublemaker, because he’s bold and willing to challenge certain rules. Of course, there are a few things that govern this, particularly his motive as well as his audience. If no one’s watching, if there will be no impact, what’s the point?

Despite the front Kegan puts up, he is actually here, at Amityville, to learn. He is a hard worker, even if some of that work is dishonest or shady. While he seems random to everyone he meets, he does adhere to his own strict moral code, which is, simply, to do no REAL harm. Even if he’s willing to get a laugh by the expense of others, his goal is never to seriously injure anyone. For example, if Kegan got someone to gamble all of their silver away and ended up with a tear-faced student, he would give that money back. Seeing someone in pain, he will help them if he can (ex: lending his jacket to a soggy Elaphae after making the rat promise him a favor; the favor being a formality of his reputation), and will find ways of dissuading others from actions he dissaproves of, while still saving face. He would not hesitate to fight anyone he had to, but the thought of killing anyone revolts him. Kegan believes in himself and his abilities (which he tries to flaunt), so he is above cheating academically, and in fact works diligently on all requirements for his classes, in private. On his own, Kegan is almost entirely a different person, and very rarely lets this serious side of himself show. If anyone were to witness how compassionate he can be, he’d have to swear them to secrecy. He’s trying to build a reputation, after all.

Some of his talents include, but are not limited to: throwing his voice, playing the bagpipes (and he’s competent enough with any instrument, really; any Irish fae creature worth their salt is), getting along with any animal, holding his liquor, and conning you out of all your currency.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?

Lore and legends have long began to die from the human world’s beliefs. Once upon a time, faeries were creatures to be feared and worshipped, beings made from the magic between the worlds that very often meddled in the affairs of humans. Come the turn of technology and religion, most of these beings either died out or returned to their separate realm to retire til the end of days. Some of these creatures were not content with this veritable paradise and migrated to Halloween in search of a lifestyle that didn't involve picking flowers all day. Kegan was one of these such creatures, though he was an infant at the time and in the care of several hands.

He has never seen the Human World, nor the Otherworld of his kind, but he has heard many tales of them both and wishes to see them. Having no parents to speak of (for sidhe are more often borne of magic than flesh) Kegan was raised among his fellow immigrants in a neighborhood they founded for themselves. While his moral and general education did not suffer, he had no other Pooka to help him with his natural abilities. Going to Amityville is, quite simply, the shortcut to mastery as opposed to the long and traditional road of age. It was suggested to him by one of his older friends that he take advantage of the opportunity to learn Halloween's ways while he was still young. Apparently it was possible for fairy creatures to work with FEAR, since said friend already had a relative that was doing rather well for themselves.

Kegan had been running amuck all of his life, so a little discipline seemed entirely novel at the time. Why not? It also would give him a chance to represent himself however he wished while associating with other students, who came from all walks of life (or death). There could not be a better collection of targets.

Kegan would be interested in all classes, as he’s quite open to learning, but most importantly he would wish to be involved in Shadowcrafting.

He will probably be a member of every club that will accept him, but his attendence in such things may vary.

FEAR: Kegan’s FEAR takes the form of shadowed figures, usually duplicates of himself. When he taps this ability, Kegan seems to meld into shadow and split apart into several different beings. The opponent, or victim, is then left with a few different Kegans to contend with. Only one, however, will actually be solid, despite appearances. At the moment, Kegan can only hold and control up to three clones of himself. On top of using this tactic to confound an opponent, when he’s in one of his animal forms it is very possible that a victim would think they were being beset by a pack of creatures. At the moment, he cannot do more than make clones of himself (and sometimes even that can be mucked up). Kegan very affectionately reffers to this ability as The Keg Party.

Physical Description:
Eye Colour: Yellow
Hair Colour/Style: Black, long, and smooth. He pulls it back in a loose ponytail, low or at the base of his neck, and it falls to just beneath his shoulderblades. Messy, but short bangs. Light sideburns going on.
Skin Colour: A soft brown color.
Build: On the shorter side of average, but seems sturdy enough. (He's based on the fact that his other form is, indeed, a pony)
Clothing Style/Colours: For whatever reason, Kegan seems to like dressing like a bum, which isn't much of a style, really. General combination is slacks, shirt, suspenders, scarf, and jacket. Sounds respectable enough, really, but the clothes (especially the jacket) seem a little big on him and like they've been worn for years. Patches or holes in the elbows, fettered ends, etc. He'll only wear dark colors, with the exception of white. He wears a cap (either green plaid or black). (OOC Note: He's based off an English cabbie/groom with a bit of a 1920's flair)
Extra: Freckles a darker brown across his nose. A simple black eyepatch across his right eye. Black horse ears in the place of human ones.
References: A few

Strengths: Conversation, physically sturdy (can carry a good bit more than what he looks like he can), patience, kindness, generally astute, reads others well, can work with most animals, accepting, charismatic.

Weaknesses: Alcohol, gambling, self-conscious about his image, over-indulgent, comes off as flighty, prone to getting in over his head, rather short, prone to spite, almost helpless against begging and tears.

Natural Ability:

Shapeshifting - A Pooka may have many forms, including the horse, the eagle, the dog, a rabbit, or a humanoid. Kegan is very mainly the equine aspect of his race, and even in this form, he is stunted. He looks like a miniature horse (think Shetland pony), characterized by a long mane. His forelock tends to cover his missing eye. He also has some control over his other forms, but they're just as... embarrassing. In all animal forms, he has black fur and retains his yellow eyes.

There is nothing for me to nitpick at because Keegan sounds wonderfully rounded 8DDDD social but not obnoxiously so that makes interaction with him fun, interesting, and accessible! And there's still room for character growth and I love your intro post, NGL, I burst out laughing XDDDDD heart I really hope he gets enrolled soon *w*

Amg ty Huni heart It depends on your definition of 'obnoxious' as far as his social skills go. Kegan is prone to nose his way into your conversation on a whim, or sit at a stranger's table to chat them up before disappearing the moment one looks away. Some people don't like that sort of familiarity, and I imagine he seems to come off as arrogant, too.

Personally, I'd find him obnoxious when he photo-bombs someone Risky Business style. He's kind of a little punk.

But if you're talking about obnoxiously sweet and friendly, then yeahno, he is not that. He is not at all bouncy xD

He sounds great! You have a really well fleshed out profile.

He also seems like a lot of fun and I love pooka characters (and have experience playing against them in the past ^_^ )

Just out of curiosity.. how did he lose his eye?

Thanks ilu! And he has a different story for THAT every time he is asked wink It's questionable whether or not he lost the eye at all. As his player, however, I can tell you that it is, indeed, not there.

I couldn't find anything to crit! He looks perfect to me. The only question I had was how he lost his eye but you've already answered that! whee

He seems pretty awesome as he is, right around now. I'll just ask some questions that I think are interesting, although they might not be very crit-y, I suppose. ^^; So, on to the questions!

-- So, does Kegan act any differently around different genders? Like, is he more likely to prank a girl, etc? Is he a big flirt, and if so, to who?

-- Does Kegan want to establish actual friendships, or is he all business, so to speak?

-- When Kegan pranks someone, does he ever plan just in case the other student gets angry/violent/etc? Like, if he pranks some random student, does he prepare an escape or alibi just in case the student gets angry at the prank?

-- Kind of random, but does he have an Irish accent? :'D

Annnd, I think that's all I have for you at this point. If you want, you can crit my girl Quarria back for me? And if we both get our quests, I request RP with you at some point in time. (Like, I would definitely love to see him try pranking her...since she get's RAEGFACE-y. XD;; )

Also, super extremely off topic, but I have a question involving your Stationscary Beasts (Since I think they're awesome and an idea keeps flitting around my brain with one in it and I wanted to run it by you first to ask for permission.). Should I just PM you? XD;;;

Thanks for takin' the time out to have a look at Kegan! I'll answer your questions here in the order you asked 'em.

- Kegan recognizes that there is a difference between genders, socially and physically, so yes, there are some differences in how he treats and relates to them. Kegan is something of a d**k, but he is somewhat more gentle to the opposite gender as a general rule. He is not more or less likely to prank either gender, but if he’s pranking a male, it’s generally no holds barred, where he would have more rules with a female. For example, a female might find herself drenched in slime as she walks through her dorm room door, but she would probably not be subjected to a prank that could physically hurt her. Kegan sees males as a tougher breed in general, but he is subject to being proved wrong. Mostly pranks tend to be personalized in some way, so I’m just giving you a generalization. If this female happened to be a behemoth or someone who could dish it right back at him, the circumstances would probably change.

As to flirting, Kegan sees it as more of another means of teasing rather than a serious proposition/expression of interest. And it isn’t one of his favorite ones to use. So no, I would not say he is a big flirt. He’s more of a big jokster. If his goal is to fluster or anger someone, he is ready to flirt… with either gender. It is not a serious expression of his sexuality or interest.

- He genuinely would like to make friends, but he would carefully pick who he is actually close to, if that makes any sense.

- Always. If it’s worth planning a prank, it’s also worth planning your escape route in his mind. However, his plans are not always foolproof!

- He does have a lovely Irish lilt and he does regularly use Irish sayings! He knows some Gaelic. I wouldn’t say his dialect is strictly of that culture, however. He does take from Halloween’s slang sayings and I perceive his accent as sort of a mixture of his Irish/Scottish neighborhood and Halloween Town.

I will certainly take a look at your girly very soon, and would be happy to rp with you if they both do become reality.

As to the Stationscary Beast… I’m not really sure what you mean by questing? I didn’t think you could really quest for pre-existing pets, nor an Special Edition. I hope you are not asking me for a free pet. However, you are welcome to PM me with what you have in mind so that I can answer the details and not my assumptions.

I've sent you a question clarifying what I was going to ask you. ^^;
(Questing? Where did you get the word questing from? (I said I had a question. Not sure if you just did a quick-misread of that, or if I simply accidently implied something I didn't mean. XD;;; ))
