Mine, if you want a decent breakfast, you should wake up. Palisanth's gentle voice took a few moments to filter through her rider's mind, but when it did, the woman turned over the blink blearily up over at her dragon.
I was having such a nice dream, though, O'ri protested, righting herself somewhat reluctantly before having a good stretch.
Yes, yes. But what will you do when we start lessons, hmm? Then it will be back to getting up early! A pause, and the green whuffed with amusement. I look forward to waking the little ones. I bet some of them will be quite grumpy in the mornings.
And here I thought you were a nice dragon.
A short while later, O'ri was shuffling towards the kitchens, dressed and mostly awake, and definitely hungry.

This...was going to be one of those painful mornings. Eralie could already tell it would be painful from the moment she rolled over on her furs, her bones creaking and cracking beneath her as she rose to her feet and started towards the wash basin. A chill had settled over her despite the general warmth that radiated from the air and she rubbed at her arms, fingers dancing over faint scars that should have vanished with the passing of Turns. Today was most certainly going to be a painful day, and she needed to get herself moving if she didn't want to think about it. Think about her.
Washing and cleaning and fresh clothing came over her quickly, leaving the older woman to make her way to the kitchens with a body that wasn't really hungry but a pit in her stomach that commanded her for sustenance. Eralie would grab something quickly from the trays and be on her way outside before there was a chance of riders showing up and . . .well. She didn't want to continue on that route.
Of course though, just as it would happen, she came across a familiar face as she rounded the corner. She knew the woman, they worked together helping the young ones. She rode a green, if Eralie wasn't mistaken.
"O'ri. Good morning."
A polite greeting was in order but that was it. Maybe the other woman would leave Eralie to her grief.

Caught mid-yawn, O'ri quickly covered her mouth and did her best to straighten up and look aware and attentive even if she wasn't quite there yet in actuality. Oh, it was Eralie! One of the other new Weyrlingmasters - and just as notable, a...former greenrider. How anyone could manage to go on after losing their dragon was impossible to imagine, and then not just continuing on in the Weyr, with constant reminders, but going on to teach young riders...
O'ri carefully kept her thoughts out of her expression, which remained bright. "Morning, Eralie! How're you today?"

"Awake and moving. The cold's a bit hard on my joints but what can I say? Old age catches up with people faster than most of us think it can."
Eralie forced a smile onto her face despite the creases that graced her forehead and she reached back to rub her shoulder. Obviously they would have to speak with one another now, seeing as O'ri was friendlier in the morning that the former rider would have assumed. Most people were just too grumpy and went about their business of eating before they attempted to be social.
"Shall we get something to eat then? I'm pretty sure the crowds will gather and we'll be stuck sitting amongst children if we don't hurry. Nothing quite like being surrounded by Weyrbrats first thing in the morning."
