A picturesque blonde reporter was adjusting her earpiece as she stood by the riverside, buffeted from the frigid wind of mid-December by her thick winter coat and scarf. It had not been her ideal place to be in the wee waking hours of that morning but the moment light had broken across the horizon, the assignment sheet from the news director had alighted on the mahogany desk that she’d had to lie, cheat, steal, and even break a few hearts to get. All Ada Roman had wanted was to get behind the Holy Grail that all anchors sought in some capacity, the one goal she was inching closer towards day by day. And Ada knew that a dead body was just the story to move her back another two steps without giving her a shot at that one step forward and into the anchor position on the A.M. News. The resentment seeped through every inch of her lines and wrinkles, however much they had been masked by a layer a foundation, and through the camera to the viewing public.

Hello, this is Ada Roman with News 3 and we’ve got breaking news regarding the discovery of a body in the river near the Route 8 Overpass. The police and the coroner’s office have broken their silence and released a very limited amount of information in regards to the circumstances in which the body was discovered and identifying information that may lead to a positive I.D. of the victim.

The camera cut to the river where divers were surfacing for breath and delving into the murky waters of the river that embraced the body that Ms. Roman was now reporting on. The camera panned slowly from left to right as a boat floated by, trawling the river for more clues as it went.

The police and the coroner’s office have described the body as belonging to a female about five feet and nine inches tall, average build, and weighing between 121 and 130 pounds. The woman is described as having reddish hair and a fresh burn mark. The coroner also indicated that the victim had been assaulted before her murder.

The camera had moved back to its focal point of Ada before moving to focus on the gaggle of local people gathering at the hill and staring down with great interest at the spectacle down at riverside.

The locals have been gathering ever since local fisherman Land R. Yost found the body in the early morning hours of yesterday’s fishing trip. Mr. Yost, could you describe to me exactly how you happened upon the body yesterday morning?

A gruff-looking mountain man moved a step closer to Ms. Roman, rubbing the plentiful gray mustache and beard on his face. The man had obviously seen many years and none had been too kind to him, but this looked like the biggest blow of all. Mr. Yost bowed his head a little and did his best not to let the camera get a glimpse of the shocked look in his eyes. He was ashamed of what he saw although he was completely innocent of the wicked fruits of crime he’d discovered.

Ms. Roman, I’d passed the overpass several hundred yards back when I remembered I left my lure box at the shore. I wasn’t in a rush so I did a U-Turn and headed towards the dip in the land by those rocks cause it’s an ideal spot to bring the boat aground. That’s when I saw her. I saw her by the rocks and I don’t ever want to see what I saw again. I ran up the bank of the river to where I left my lure box and called 911. I think what I saw will stick with me the rest of my days, Ms. Roman.

Thank you, Mr. Yost. We’ll get back to you, the News 3 Viewers when we have more information. My name is Ada Roman, News 3 reporter. It’s back to you, headquarters.

Landry is seen watching the news broadcast. He flips off the tv and slowly turns around, wearing the most disgusting grin imaginable.

"Tradgedy...the gift that keeps on giving. And it feels SO GOOD to give..."

Landry walks off screen out of his locker room, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of everyone unfortunate enough to witness it.
