Children of the Night

The Introduction:

It is the Night of the Full Moon, the Night of the Summer Equinox. Moonlight reaches the small clearing where an ancient cavern has been cleverly hidden for thousand of years. The way lies open, the cavern yawning open, ready to consume the fool who dares enter the 'tomb' of Acerbus Invisus, the so-called bringer of destruction by shamans past...


A shadow moves swiftly across the night, darting from one tree to another, silently -sneakily- making its way to the hidden cave...

The figure stops, and from beneath the folds of his cloak, the man (for it is surely a male human), hidden by darkness, reveals a sinisterly shining orb -blood red in color. The orb is pulsing, sensing the 'door' that it is key to.

The figure raises his hands up, high, almost as if offering the jewel to the cave (not unlike if he were at some holy shrine), and begins to mutter/chant the spell...

"Niger sol solis, Argentum luna,
Oriundus quibus quietus sepulchrum,
Effringo quas portas consisto Acerbus, itaque Fatum.
Producto produxi productum erga Acerbus aeternus eternus,
Quod expidio quietus phasma phasmatis.
Argentum sol solis, et Niger luna.*"

...The man's voice rose steadily, until he ended with a shout, and the orb shattered, the wind fled fiercely, determined to get away before true evil arose. Dark eyes glowed from the shadow of the cavern, as the wind roared, escaping, a scream pierced the air, and the air was still.

When the wind, once more, passed the clearing, only the blood-stained ground gave proof that a man once stood...


*Translation: Black Sun, Silver Moon,/Awaken from the sleeping tomb,/Break open the gates, of Dark, and Doom./Bring Light to Darkness Everlasting,/And Free the Slumbering Spirit [within]./Silver is the Sun, and Black, the Moon.

Children of the Night

The Story:

Over a Millenia of years ago, the first vampire was born; he came from the First Bat, who fell in love with a human, but as a First, he could not die from poison, sickness, or age, like the Council of Gods, and the other Firsts.

He married the human, who, unfortunately, was only human, and so would die in less than a century (the normal lifespan of a human at the time). But he was so in love with the woman -Leandra- that he went to the Gods and requested to become human, in turn, they granted the wish -on one condition -he would lose the beautiful silver fur/feather and dark liquid orbs that would have been passed down into generations of Bats after. He agreed.

Several years passed, the couple was happy, and they bore their first son. And to their surprise, their son could Change -could take on the form of the Bat- but unfortunately, a brown bat, one with bad sight and without the beauty of his precedesor. And as a gift, the gods gave Damion the gift of Metamorphosis, allowing him to become a bat when he wished, and thus the first 'Vampire' was born.

Now, a thousand years have passed, and over time, the meaning of Vampire struck fear into peoples' hearts, as a certain vampire, descendant of the First, grew evil -conceited. He believed that his kind was superior, and considered humans prey, like any other animal, and so the meaning of the 'Vampire' came to be. Fearful, the humans turned on them -and others, and creatures who were harmless as well as dangerous were either killed or sealed away. And, as was Damion, and Acerbus, for they did not know how to kill an 'immortal'.

Several thousand years more have passed, and humans have all but forgotten the tales of these mythical beings -forgotten the Truth- as the last of the Supernatural went into hiding...or died.

Now, Invisus has awoken, and seeks to eradicate all Humans. But Damion too, has been awakened, and must stop him before it is too late -before before mankind itself is destroyed...

And before all fall to the Darkness(/Evil) that is Acerbus Invisus...

The Roles & Rules:

Two sides now determine the fate of Mankind, and you must choose: Will you follow Acerbus, and the path Destruction? Or Damion, on the path to Salvation...?

Destruction:
You will follow Acerbus, whether for your own selfish reasons, or whether you just agree with him (maybe you are even loyal to him!); But whatever the reason, you have sided with Mankind's destruction, it doesn't matter whether you are a Vampire or not, but whether you are human. Destruction follows a Hierarchy, though, with Acerbus its ever present Dictator/King/whatever.

Of course, you may even be a double agent, not that it matters, the 'King' doesn't trust anyone anyways, everyone is a suspect. There is no one he can trust, no one, so beware...

Lest you are murdered by fellow comrade...

Salvation:
You follow whichever leader you follow, but there are rules, of course.

Yet in the end, you follow Damion, and whether you are friend or foe doesn't matter, all that matters now, is that you are loyal to your cause, for you may not even like humans, but you still help anyways -for whatever reasons, following someone, or being just a plain 'zen'-ist.

Sure, you might even be a double agent, but so what? It doesn't matter.... much.

For whatever reason you want to stop Acerbus, and so, the destruction of mankind as well. But beware, just because you are on the Good Team(/Side of Salvation) doesn't mean that you can't be tempted into the Darkness...

Decieved, by your darker side...

Rules

-- NO GODMODDING! I am teh God/Goddess of this Roleplay! >D (Not to mention that I is Guild Captain =P)
-- CANONS! PM profiles with Character Name/Position (if you are also making an OC)
-- ESA! PM profiles with the subject "Last Defense" as well as 'rank' if your character has one!
-- AWRA! PM profiles with the subject "Final Demise" as well as 'rank' if, as said with ESA members you have one. MAKE SURE YOU MENTION IF SAID CHARACTER IS A DOUBLE-CROSSER/SPY!
-- HUMANS! Remember! Humans can only join ESA! Unless they are 'other'/innocents.
-- AGE LIMITS! Well, actually, there are none =P So far... but if things get ridiculous I WILL add this!
-- PROFILES MUST BE SENT VIA PM! I will tell you if it's accepted, and where to put the profile! All profiles will go in the Characters/Info Thread that will be made specifically for this Roleplay!
