A week after he first set foot on Amityville's grounds, West was somewhat pleased to find that he had not only managed to attend class on a fairly regular basis, but he had participated in an extra-curricular activity as well. Yes, the play auditions had been labeled as mandatory, but surely mandatory didn't mean mandatory. There were always those who refused to bend to the rules, especially in Halloweentown.
What West was less pleased about was the small number of severely irksome animals that had found their way into his room. There was the knee-high flaming bull that insisted on sleeping at his feet each night, the pokey bluish-black thing that had proven too quick to stab, and this menace, this fail-dillo he was chasing right now. There were two of them, actually, the only difference between them being color, and no matter how hard West tried to get rid of them, they kept coming back. That didn't stop him from trying.
He might have let them be if they had only seen fit to defecate in his new boots. The boots could be replaced. It was the defecating everywhere else that wasn't going to fly.
"Gebback 'ere you bloody heapa craaap!" West bellowed. For creatures with such stubby legs, they sure could run, although, to be fair, these two had gotten a head start.
The trio raced through the halls and into the common area of the demon dorms, the armassum pattering along quietly and West making more than enough noise for all three of them.

Eyes closed, posture long ago forfeit to comfort, the marid was lounging on one of the couches situated in the demon common room within the dorms. Curled on her lap was Soen, her water scareon. He was purring softly, dainty paws kneading into her thigh as she stroked a finger between his ears. They'd been out for a walk that afternoon, wandering about the grounds and down by the swamp. Perhaps on the look out for G, but he'd been nowhere to be seen. As it was, once back in the dorms, she'd taken the first chance she got to sit down and relax.
Which had been going very well until someone started hollering angerly down the hall. And -that- was followed by thunderously loud footsteps. All of which proceeded a pair of stubby legged Armassum and a furious looking demon in.. pink?
Sleepy eyes snapped open, dark brows pinching curiously. Well, you don't see that everyday. Sitting up, Yaya pulled Soen more squarely into her lap, smoothing a palm down his back as he stirred in his sleep. For a moment or two she just watched the brightly colored boil dart about the room in pursuit of the little beasties. It was, after all, rather entertaining. But her curiosity eventually got the better of her.
"Excuse me?" She mused, the delicate point of her chin tilting to one side. "Why are you chasing those Armassum?"

West hadn't noticed the other demon until she had decided to address him, his attention wholly focused on the elusive pests he was attempting to throttle. When the marid did speak, West ground to a halt, his forward momentum slowed with the help of a frantic wave of his arms. The armassum pair stopped as well, though they were a good distance ahead of West, and once they were still they commenced whuffling at each other as if nothing was amiss.
"'Scuse me. They made m'roomuh Easterin' toilet!" He yelled the last word, removing an aqua moccasin and chucking it at the animals. They didn't seem to notice. When West's hand returned to his side, it was balled in a fist. "I'munna kill 'em." He grinned widely, the look in his eyes more manic than joyful. "'Less you wanna clean up the messfer 'me?" Those strange eyes narrowed as the corners of his lips relaxed back into their usual frown. He recognized this ghoul from somewhere, and since he had only been a handful of places throughout the school so far, it didn't take him long to figure out from where. He had auditioned for Amityville's annual play right after she had. As he recalled she was a decent singer, but it wasn't like he was going to tell her so.

Delicate brows twitched upward as the boil answered her question, vehemently and damn near incoherently. She could understand him, but only just. Though she supposed his reasons for going after the pair of whuffling beasties was justified. "Oh I see." Still, he was awfully angry. Angry enough that she felt his death threat upon the pair was more then idle venting. It made her sit up a little straighter, small hands smoothing over Soen's sides. Not as if she were worried, but more a matter of proximity.
"Clean? I don't think so." The flesh along the bridge of her nose pinched in distaste. She was watching him now with quite a bit of interest, the shadow of a smile setting in along the corners of her mouth. The marid was a mild, serene creature, generally devoid of such grand emotions of anger or excitement. But they interested her, drawing the dark haired ghoul like a moth to a flame, and the boil standing before her was a veritable wild fire.
A twitch of swimming eyes flicked over to the two armassum, lips pursing as she considered them. "Have you tried training them?" Her own pets were all very well behaved, but that had come with kindness and training. Somehow she figured the demon boil didn't often practice neither kindness nor patience.

"Hmm? West's attention had managed to stray in the short time it had taken Hadiyya to reply. He tiptoed forward while she was doing so, coming to a stop near his disobedient pets. They didn't move, somehow able to tell that the chase was over for the moment. "Train? But they'rent even mine. My room was nice'n'clean'n these things justarted showin' up without my bloody say so." He pushed at the green animal's hindquarters, yelling, "SIT!" at it as it flopped into an awkward seated position.
"Whatayou know 'bout it anyway? Issat thing trained?" he asked, gesturing sharply at the scareon in her lap.

Dark lips pursed as she watched him inching towards the armassum. They in turn regarded the pink haired demon with a complete lack of concern. Curious little beasties, they were. She'd slide to the edge of her seat, and in so doing managed to rouse the dozing scareon on her lap. He too was now watching the show. Sitting up in his mistress's lap so he could wrap his thick tail around his paws.
A single brow arched as he bellowed a command at the green critter and it actually followed it, more or less. "Maybe they weren't yours originally, but they certainly look like they belong to you now." Sh gestured with her hand at the sitting animal." And see? They look trainable to me." She smiled, a sweet up tilt of lips.
At his indication of Soen in her lap, Yaya blinked down at the little blue scareon. It responded with pointed yawn in West's direction. "Oh yes, Soen is very well behaved. Go and say hello." The last was directed at the water beasty, and he jumped from her lap to prance over to the avarice demon to sit squarely at his feet, "barking" up at him.

Well, this was just great. Agreeable not-pets, agreeable blue ghouls, agreeable barking cats - boring. West yawned, nearly in tandem with the scareon. "Guess so," he muttered. They certainly seemed to be behaving themselves, now that they had an audience at least.
He looked down at Soen before addressing the animal, his words spilling out faster and louder the longer he kept talking. "You. D'ya have a job er somethin'? D'ya do anythin' but sit 'round an' bark? Canyuh teach these two ta be all obedien'too?" He gave Soen a shallow, mocking bow, resisting the urge to kick at him. "Emperor Westus, at yer service. An' these're... Lor' Jerkwater n' Stench," he added, indicating the armassum, both of whom were now seated.

She noted the yawn. It tugged at the corners of her lips, a delicate smile that threatened to become a full on grin. She did her best to fend it off though, having gotten the impression that this was a boil that would not take kindly to being giggled at.
Of course if he kept interrogating her scareon as he was now it was going to be next to impossible not to laugh. Soen, for his part, was looking up at West with his little blue head tilting first one direction then the other. He did ask a semi valid questrion though, one to witch the marid could answer. "Actually, he just might be able to show your new pets a thing or two, West was it?" The smile she turned up to him was polite, charming, and just barely hid the amusement shining in her eyes.
"Animals can learn behaviors from other animals twice as fast as simply being taught by their masters. Unless of course said master could speak their language." Like Braum. He was a Raum with a bird form, and could very easily speak to his avian pets in their native tongue.

West glared at the demon as she spoke. Was that amusement? Was she laughing at him? His brows furrowed as he went from zero to furious, suddenly seconds away from screaming something inappropriate about her odor or parentage. He opened his mouth and took a sharp breath, but precisely at that moment the animal he had just aptly dubbed Stench let out a wheezy cough and deposited a drooly gift nugget into the slipper West had thrown at it. He sighed, his expression fading to one of mere distaste.
"Yeah. 'M West, who're you?" He curled his fingers into his palm, accidentally squeezing hard enough to draw blood, and extended the fist to Soen to sniff. Make nice. Behave. He hoped these two had the power to force his pets to fall in line because there was no way he was learning to speak armassum.

The menacing glare directed at her was met with a benign smile and gentle tip of her head. His anger was a near tangible thing, delicious in it's proximity and obvious manifestation in his features and frame. She'd never yet met someone whose emotions could roller coaster so seamlessly and at the drop of a hat. It was alluringly interesting, but if the avarice demon thought that his little angry display would pull a reaction from the djinn of fear, or perhaps her own anger, he would be sorely mistaken.
A wheeze of a cough pulled her attention to the duo of stumpy pets not far from them, and the appearance of the spit up nasty on the slipper was really just too much. Yaya tried to control herself, really she did, but that was the last straw, and the demon couldn't bring up fast enough to muffle the sudden burst of giggling laughter. That had been priceless.
Once the giggling was under control she she held a hand up to the boil in greeting. "West, it's nice to meet you. I'm Hadiyya." She could feel the anger in him washing out like waves. She'd have to keep this one close, he was far too much an emotional buffet not to.
As the fist was offered down to Soen, he leaned in to sniff it, offering a lick.

Once the scareon had acknowledged his presence, West abruptly straightened to his full height and moved closer, offering the opposite hand, the one that wasn't bleeding, to Hadiyya to shake.
"Ya'laugh a lot y'know," he said, gritting his teeth and doing an admirable job of pretending that her laughter wasn't directed at his own misfortune. "Things're only really funny when th'piss someone off." Oh, wait. He sneered, then muttered, "I guessyer doin' a good job then." Was that... respect... he felt? Maybe a little. Well, that sucked.

Soen trotted back over to his mistress after West had straightened, and he watched the boil as he too moved closer. Clearly keeping a protective watch over the peaceful demoness. Which was quite humorous when one stopped to wonder just what scareon intended on doing should anyone threaten the water djinn, being the size of an over ambitious Pomeranian.
"Do I?" She'd gotten her giggles under control and any remaining mirth was restricted to the twinkle in her eye and the slip up tilt of dark lips. She shook his hand before refolded her hands in her lap. "So does that mean I'm making you angry?" Was that just a touch of mockery in her tone? Probably not, considering the speaker, but it easily be construed as such if you didn't know her very well. Polite, reasonable tones were so often mistaken for insincere mockery these days.

"Maybe not," he admitted, considering her apparent stance on laughter for the second time. "Butit's in yer eyes. Th'laughin'." He didn't speak again for a minute or so. Instead he squatted near Lord Jerkwater and Stench and slapped his barfy slipper against the carpet, muttering incoherently. "Yeah'm mad. This's stupid. You're stupid." Surprisingly he wasn't speaking to the marid, his finger extended toward the armassum. The green one lifted a foot and used it to scratch behind its horn, then it snorted and started to wander off, back in the direction of West's room.
"Gebback here!" he sputtered. He stood, his foot jerking and stomping almost on its own, but he didn't give chase. "I'munna getta rope."

She gave another quite little chuckled, this time pressing the tips of her fingers against her lips as if to muffle the sound, though it wasn't all that loud to begin with. "Oh? Well, you have to admit, it is rather amusing." At least from her point of view. She could appreciate that he likely didn't find it as funny.
As one of the armassum rolled to his stubby feet and toddled off towards what she assumed had to be West's room, the ghoul was privy to another wave of sudden irritation. Delicious. "For a leash?" Had to be, unless he intended to hog tie the little beasts. Then again..
A sudden brilliant idea crossed the djinn's mind. A sly, wonderfully crafty idea. For an instant she wondered if perhaps it wasn't a little underhanded, but then went on to further wonder if she cared. She didn't.
"I have an idea." She leaned forward where she sat. Palms sliding over her knees to rest upon her shins. Probably showing off a good deal cleavage, though she wasn't really aware of it. "I could train them for you."

Momentarily sidetracked by the sudden appearance of alluring girlflesh (what, he was a guy), West's gaze flicked quickly from Yaya's chest back up to her face. His eyes narrowed and he muttered something about ghouls and distractions.
"Yeah'uh leash. Or maybe evena noose."
His expression smoothed ever so slightly at her offer of help. Surely there was a catch. She looked too sneaky to just be offering out of the goodness of her heart.
"Wassinnit fer you?"
