Castille always loved visiting the toy store. Maybe it was because she never really felt like she "grew up". Sure she "got older", but there was a difference between "getting older" and "growing up". Or maybe it was because she only really ever went to the toy store around Christmas, and that was her favorite time of year. For whatever reason, Castille LOVED toy stores, and today was no exception.
The store was packed when her father dropped her off in the snow. "I'll be back in an hour" he said, pulling away from the curb. Castille nodded and turned to face the large doors, and was caught immediately in the flow of rushed mothers and fathers pushing in. Once inside, her ears were blasted with the sounds of children, harried parents and Christmas music. The walls were covered in toys, books, games, everything a small child could want.
She perused the aisles lined with little cars, pausing to pick up one or two and turn them over thoughtfully. Finding nothing that caught her eye, she wandered to the next aisle, and decidedly avoided the pink covered, Barbie laced walkway. If she got Tyler a Barbie he would kill her! Little children ran underneath her feet, laughing and picking up toys. She smiled at them, and one girl paused, a stuffed monkey in her sticky grasp. Castille waved, and the girl waved back with a smile that revealed a few missing teeth. The monkey gave her an idea, and she walked toward the stuffed animal "zoo", which was really just a large wall of various animals. There she paused, looking over the different kinds, thinking.

Istas was looking over the stuffed zoo animals as well. Butter yellow eyes seemed thoughtful as she looked up and down the shelves. The nine year old then spotted what could only be described as the biggest teddy bear she'd ever seen.
Granted the only other bigger teddy bear there might be was the panda in the duck booth. The child with curly pigtails was standing on her tip toes trying to reach him. Finding the bear she wanted in a spot where she couldn't reach him she pouted slightly before noticing an older girl.
"Ohhh, excuse me." She said softly hands automatically clasping behind her back and giving a curious look towards the older girl. Hopefully she was nice.

Big or small? Fluffy or not? Cat or dog? her brain was filled with all kinds of questions. And it didn't help that she kept getting distracted by stuffed animals that she wanted! Castille picked up a tiger, turning over the arm length creature before putting it back with a sigh. 11 year olds were so hard to shop for!
"Ohhh, excuse me."
She looked over quickly, then down a bit to see a small girl with pig tails and warm yellow eyes. The eyes took her aback at first. She'd never seen anyone with that color before. She looked around herself and, seeing no adults, Castille smiled warmly and said "Were you talking to me?"

Istas smiled as she watched the other go through toys. Giving a slight giggle when she was noticed. "Yes ma'am." She said with a nod, her curls bouncing.
She pointed upwards towards the bear. "I was wondering if you could reach me that really big teddy bear." She looked up at it and then back to Castille, "I tried but I was too short to reach him on my own." The child explained.

She stared up at where the little girl was pointing and saw a GIANT teddy bear sitting on one of the upper shelves. "You mean this one?" she asked, reaching upward to grasp the bear's paw. She pulled at it, but he would not budge. "This bear is bigger than you are!" she said, tugging at it again. Something else was on top of it, she could see a bit of blue fur poking out. She tugged a third time.
And then the avalanche started. It began with a blue rabbit falling on Castille's head. Then came an absolute flood of fur, fluff and googly eyes raining down on both Castille and the little girl. She covered her head with her hands, hitting herself in the face with the large bear that started the whole ordeal.

"Yes Ma'am." Istas replied with a smile. She chuckled when the older girl said the bear was bigger than she was. Istas was watching the bear, "Um..." Before she could say anything the stuffed animals came tumbling down. She squeaked as the toys fell trying to save her head.
"Oh no..." She looked around at the mess when the toys finally stopped coming down. She was rubbing her head where a plastic nose had hit it rather hard, there was the starts of tears in the butter yellow eyes but she didn't seem to be actually crying. "Are you okay?"

She opened her eyes a minute later so see stuffed toys laying about both her and the girl. A sea of paws, feathers and fur. Many of the people in the store were staring, and she felt a blush creep into her cheeks. She laughed a little, then said "Yeah, I'm ok. But how angry do you think the people who work here are gonna be?" She looked at the giant bear in her hand, and gave it to the girl "Well anyway, I got the bear, so I guess it's mission accomplished!"
She began to pick up a few toys, throwing them in random shelves on the wall.

Istas was helping pick up the stuffed toys holding the giant bear in one arm. "I think they did that on purpose." She said softly as she tried to find places she could reach to put the critters.
She paused, "Thank you for getting it for me though." She gave the bear a soft squeeze as she put up the few toys she could. She was watching Castille curiously as the older girl was probably able to pick up more plush toys since she could reach higher places.

"On purpose?" she asked, looking back at the girl "You think?" Some of the toys were picked up, but many still lay on the ground. Castille sighed staring at them, not really wanting to pick them up at all...
"So where's your mom and dad? When I was your age I didn't get to wander around by myself in a busy store!" She sat on the floor near the wall, using a large penguin as a cushion, feeling her hair to make sure the side buns wer still intact after the falling toys attacked her.

Istas blinked, "Mom's picking up Christmas presents." She replied, with a pause, "I don't think she's that far away really." She looked around, not seeing Chi in any immediately visible aisles.
She shrugged, "It's possible... some of the kids at my school would've done something like that." She said softly, "Of course they couldn't reach up that high..."
She watched the other sit and lean on a large penguin.

"Man, I wish my mom would take me shopping when she was picking out presents! Then you could always sneak a peek.." she smiled mischievously. She looked back at the upper shelf. "It looks like something from my school would do too. So, we just have to look for someone between the age of seven and seventeen and we'll find the culprit!" Castille laughed then looked at the little girl.
"So what's your name?"

Istas chuckled, "They've all been wrapped." She said with a smile, she tilted her head up at the shelf. She giggled at the seven and seventeen comment, "Yeah! Maybe we should, someone could get hurt." She said arms wrapped around the stuffed bear she had.
She paused, "Istas, yours?" Her soft blue curls bounced as she tilted her head smiling.

Castille smiled, holding out her hand "I'm Castille. It's nice to meet you Istas."
She looked around and said, "Mine too. How long is it to Christmas? I hope to get some new stuff for my camera. Don't tell anyone but, " she shifted her eyes back and forth dramatically and said "But sometimes I like to shake my presents, just to see if I can guess!" She grinned mischievously at Istas.

Istas took the hand in return. "Nice to meet you Castille." The younger of the two said with a smile.
Seeming to ponder the question Istas paused, "It's too long." She said realizing it was only part of the way into the second week. She tilted her head at Castille as the older admitted to shaking their presents.
"W-wouldn't that break a camera?" She asked curiously looking slightly bewildered at the thought.

"There is a science to shaking presents." She said, picking up a box of Legos to demonstrate. "You have to carefully roll it end over end so it makes a little noise, but doesn't rattle it around so much that it breaks."
She rolled the box end over end slowly, and the Legos inside made a bit of noise, but not like the crashing that could be heard from other people throwing boxes into their carts.
Castille gave the box to Istas and said "Here, now you can practice!"
