Freyr wandered into the establishment wearing a curious expression and a slip of paper held in his hand that told of an address and a time he was supposed to be there. It was a bit of an odd phone call that the seven foot tall man had received but he took it as it came. He'd been advised not to go because it might be some sort of weird prank devised by some teen punk wanting to get their jollies off but still the large man arrived and found that it all seemed legit enough.
Despite past betrayals he still wanted to believe that there was good in this world and this didn't seem like anyplace where bad things happened. It was nice looking and hopefully people here were friendly and patient because he had questions.
As he wandered to the front desk he stood and waited to be addressed by someone, anyone.

He was greeted by a cheery little woman with poofy hair and big dark glasses, who popped her head up from a nap she'd been taking at the desk, which made her look very much like a rather bushy lion. Blinking forward, she realized her eyes were pointed at Freyr's chest and looked up at him through her black glasses.
"Oh, hi there! Did you have an appointment?"

He blinked as he tilted his head toward the person behind the desk. Freyr reached up and rubbed the back of his neck before he chuckled and responded, "I got this weird phone call telling me to come to this place at a certain time. I was just wonderin' if maybe ya'll got yer phone numbers mixed up...M'name is Freyr Asgrim by the way if that makes any difference..."
Maybe they meant to get someone else entirely and they just so happened to dial his number by mistake somehow.

Apoxi looked down at the list Kayen had left her of all visitors who might drop by. "No sir, your name's on the list. It seems you were selected to become a parent to one of our fabulous children. Congratulations I guess?"

Freyr opened his mouth then closed it and then reached up to tug at his beard in a thoughtful manner. He was on a list? How did he get on a list? He didn't remember signing up for anything like this. Then again he might have and forgotten?
"...This...list of yours. How did I get on it? Did you just pick random folk? And you're giving out kids? I don't...rightly understand." Freyr had every right to be at least a little perplexed. If she insisted that he signed up for it somehow then he'd go along with it, he was a man of his word, however if he was somehow selected by something else?
..He didn't know what he would do.
Probably adopt the kid anyhow since he had a soft spot for children.

Apoxi looked a little sheepish. "It's somewhat hard to explain. It's a sorta technological magical mix computer thing that just goes over the people in and around gaia and picks who would be really good as a Guardian and possible kid matches for them. I don't generally operate it so I don't understand it much." she explained, shrugging some.

The tall man tilted his head a bit and seemed to think about it. Chances were if he wasn't so open hearted and willing this probably could have gone terribly. Yet the man just smiled and let out a small chuckle, "Alright, I'll go for it."
Not like he had much choice in the matter perhaps.
"I'll adopt the child, I have a friend with a couple of her own...At least the kid won't get bored," Freyr said cheerfully.

Apoxi looked down at the list and suddenly smirked, "I think I know which of these possible kids will work for you, Freyr. Come on, I'll introduce you to the All Father," she said lightly, standing up and showing him down a hall towards some rooms.
At mixers, they almost never named the children. But some it was so hard to resist and when they hung around as long as they did, it was hard not to do so. And when they'd gotten a rather magically natured young one with an almost high and mighty attitude who needed to wear and eyepatch...the joke made itself. Plus Jillian had been studying mythology at the time and started calling him Odin anyway and at that point it stuck.
Opening the door into one of the room, Apoxi indicated a young and rather intelligent looking little one with...six hooved legs? He also had a mohawk that was more of a mane, extending down his back and over his hindquarters. "Freyr, meet Odin."

Freyr was baffled for the most part not about the fact that there was a kid that might be already lined up for him but the fact that he was called the 'All Father'. He moved to follow Apoxi quietly as he let out a small chuckle, "I haven't heard that since the tales my Granny used to tell me when I was a kid. Was one of the names for Odin wasn't it?"
He was a bit rusty with his lore but at least he tried.
His question was confirmed when the door opened and Apoxi spoke again after indicating the haughty looking child within it. Freyr blinked and then uttered a small laugh, "..He certainly does look the part!" he said in a fond tone, "I think I could handle him"
Odin just stared. The tall man certainly seemed strong though his choice of words were...a bit insulting. Nothing Odin couldn't fix.

Apoxi snickered a little. "Odin, this is Freyr. He will probably be taking you home. I need to go grab some forms for him but you introduce yourself, okay? Try to be civil." she teased, patting the boy's shoulder and heading out of the room.

Odin stared at Apoxi as she left. He took the teasing in stride and even allowed her to pat his shoulder. He was used to how the people in this place worked. Everything here was familiar and known and he liked that. The boy stared at the unknown before him as Freyr wandered a bit more into the room.
"What is it like?" Odin asked not specifying what 'it' was.
Freyr paused as he watched the boy, "It?"
The boy sighed a bit as if being put upon by someone that ought to know what he was talking about at all times, "Y'house. What is it like?"
The man tugged a bit at his beard before he responded, "Big, open, it has a pool on the outside. Sometimes other kids come over."
Odin raised an eyebrow, "Others?"
Freyr nodded, "A woman I know, she brings her children for me to watch over. I think you'd like them."
The boy moved to stand and wandered a bit closer to him, "We'll see," he replied. Odin paused a bit, "I like your name."
The man smiled a bit, "Thanks. Would you like to live with me? I'm sure you'd like it or at least grow to."
Odin blinked at the fact that he had a choice in the matter before he nodded, "...Please," the mixed boy said quietly. It wasn't that he had bad manners but he also didn't find reason to say 'please' for things around here mostly because he didn't need to. At least he knew of the word and what it meant.
Freyr grinned at the boy as he moved to lightly ruffle at the child's mohawk, "Alright then, Odin, your home is with me now."
With that settled the man moved to see if Apoxi would be returning soon with the forms she mentioned.

She had already arrived in the doorway with the forms for him, holding them out to Freyr but turning to look at Odin. "There are mixer pets available for children if you'd like to look for one. If not, you can another time."

Freyr had taken the forms from her with a bit of a smile, he felt a bit startled as she was there just as he was about to look for her. Lady was like a ninja! He held the forms and looked down at Odin, "Up to you kiddo. I don't mind if you come with a pet."
Odin paused a bit as he looked between the adults for a long moment, "...I can have a Mana Wyrm...?" There had been one that he was eyeballing for a bit.
The man had no idea what they were but he nodded, "Course. Consider it my welcoming home present."
The boy stared up at Apoxi now, "....Please," he said again as if forcing it out this time.

"Yeah come on, sweetie. I'll show you to where they are and you can snag it," she assured the boy and led him down another hallway to the mixer pet room. "We'll meet you at the front desk when your forms are done, Freyr."
The room where pets were kept was somewhat plain with little enclosures suited to the different types. The Mana Wyrms were kept in a special little box except for when they were being fed, but right now they were circling inside of it, looking about for people. The one Odin had been eying floated up to the front near one of the entrances and hovered there. It knew.
"Well, go ahead and reach in and grab it." Apoxi nudged the boy forward.

Freyr nodded a bit at Apoxi's instruction and simply wandered to the front desk where he could quietly fill in the forms and then waited for them to come meet him at the front.
Odin followed quietly feeling some actual excitement as he did so. He had a home and now he was getting a Mana Wyrm. For him this was a rather fantastic day! He stared into the box and then looked up at Apoxi as she nudged him. Odin nodded a bit as he moved forward toward the Mana Wyrm that had floated a bit toward the front, he reached a hand outward and without hesitation it moved to meet him. Grasping it gently he moved to hold it grinning openly and happily, "I know what I wanna name it. I wanna name it Nidhogg."
...Obviously Odin had been hanging around Jillian again.
The Mana Wyrm seemed happy with the name; the pair seemed to compliment each other wonderfully in both colors and attitude.
"I'm ready to go home now," Odin said up to Apoxi so that she could lead him back to his new parent.
