Playing the Violin - Cerissé has been playing the violin since she was around 5 years old. And she's quite good at it, thank you SO much! The haunting strains and melodies that a violin can produce calm and soothe her when she's troubled and help to give her clarity of mind. Her most prized possession is a violin that has been passed down to her from her Great-Grandfather.
Composing - Though she keeps this fairly under wraps, Cerissé enjoys experimenting with writing her own tunes to play. Someday, she hopes to perform her own music in front of the world's notables. Hidden in the bottom drawer of her dresser are notebooks with crisply precise musical notations and half-composed songs.
Cross-Stitch - There is something about cross-stiching and embroidery that Cerissé finds soothing. Perhaps it is that is requires attention to detail. Perhaps it is how a small scrap of cloth can be transformed into a beautiful picture. Whatever her reasons (and she's not telling), Cerissé goes on weekly raids to the local craft stores for new threads and canvas and patterns. Her dorm room is decorated with various projects and she tends to give pieces away as presents to those she likes and admires.
Virtues:
Straightforward - Cerissé is not one to give you a comfortable answer because that's what you want to hear. No matter how unpleasant the news, she will always be the first to step up and lay it out on the table. No sugar-coating, no temporizing. She sees no need for prevarication in anything and gets annoyed when others are not equally straightforward with her. And while some might call her tactless or insensitive, she feels that it is much easier to move on and DO something if one has all the facts spread out for them up front. Sure, it might hurt a bit. But ultimately, the pain passes and people will do what needs to be done.
Quick on Her Mental Feet - As one might expect from a person who can both play and write pure music, Cerissé has more than a bit of intelligence hiding within her pretty head. She is never without a snappy comeback should one be needed and she is fairly adept at taking in a situation at a glance and forming a plan then and there to deal with it. While these plans may not always work at first, she is always ready to adjust and adapt as needed to make sure that she gets the outcome that gives the most benefits.
Nice and Accurate - Precise, organized and competent. These are just a few words that others have used to describe Cerissé. She keeps herself and her surroundings together and running like well-oiled clockwork. She is never less than completely put together with nary a lock of hair or stitch of clothing out of place. If you need an answer that she does not have, she will know precisely where to find it and lead the way.
Flaws:
Over-Hasty Decisions - While competent and mentally quick, there are times (and Cerissé prefers not to discuss them) where she misses a key element and makes a snap decision that threatens to bring down things around her. She's got a reputation to uphold and sometimes, well... she let's her knowledge of that reputation make those decisions rather than taking a few extra seconds to make sure of her facts. In point of fact, those snap judgments have lost her more than one friend because she didn't take the time to completely consider all the variables.
Contained - Cerissé is not a people person. Sure, there are some people that she likes, but you will rarely see her socializing even with them. No, she keeps herself to herself and as a consequence has developed a reputation of being cold, aloof, calculating and in general, a b***h. Cerissé lives behind a thick, tight shell of her own creation and it never breaks and only rarely cracks. If anyone else has ever figured out what goes on behind those shuttered green eyes of hers, they've never told.
She's Keeping Her Distance - Cerissé is proud and distant. And she likes it that way. She is also determined to give no more of herself to anyone or anything than absolutely necessary. Oh, she knows that she could expend a bit more effort and really shine, but why should she? As far as she is concerned, no one deserves that sort of effort from her. Only her love of music drives her to strive harder and truly throw herself whole-heartedly into anything. And since people are not music, well, there's no point in letting them in or giving them more than 95%.
