The winter months seemed to be coming in a bit early. The day was young, but Akaaru couldn't tell just where the sun rest in the sky anymore. The clouds hung low, the chill in the air threatening snow for at least the mountain areas he had just come from.
He drew his wings to fold close against himself as quiet steps along a worn path brought him closer to the edge of the forest. It would be a good idea to find a nice place to rest for a while just in case the weather did turn unfavorable.

Aleeshanee just did not know how to take on the winter months. Her coat was not thick enough to take on the cooler air during the winter months. Winter made flying harder since it tended to get colder the higher up one goes. During this time, the mare settled flying below the clouds when she needed to get somewhere, and when it was too gusty, she would rest on land and find shelter behind the trees where the trunks of trees would better cover and protect her from the wind.
The tiny mare was investigating the forests, staying on the outskirts. She wanted to find resources and try to remember where they were so she could prepare for the scarcity of food and possibly free flowing water.
