does anyone no the real reason why its bad to refreeze raw meat?
It depends where it thawed. If you had frozen meat and left it in the fridge for a day, it's not all that bad. But if you left it on a countertop and in thawed, or if you got it from the grocery store and it had already been frozen before you bought it, don't refreeze it. The bacterias grow while the meat thaws, and they are not killed in the freezer: it only slows down their growth. Which means taking out the meat and thawing it for the second time could leave you with lots of possibly dangerous bacterias, or enough for it to become dangerous before long. Either way, freezing meat twice also makes it loose quality, msotly with texture, because it breaks the cells.
