I've only been to one but I had a blast! Even dressed up and got someone's number out of it...heh...but...moving on-
The people at these things are so welcoming!! And there are so many things to do there... I was pleasently surprised n.n But it propelled me into watching more anime. I borrowed some from my friend after that and finished them rather quickly. ((Wolf's Rain and Black Cat are the only anime I've been able to finish, everything else I get addicted to have an overwhelming amount of episodes ))
So my questions to you are:
Have you been to one? Would you like to go?
Why would you like to go?
Would you dress up? As who//what??

I have been to a anime convention three times. Twice at sugicon and once at Ohayocon. I go with my anime club. I went to ohayocon and yanakee. This year I'm going in group outfit with my friends we're going as mages. I love to go shopping and seeing the pannels.

I've been to Kawaii Kon 2 times before. That guy who did Edward Elric in the dubbed American FMA was there the first time, and so was Stan Sakai. Don't know about the last one, all I can remember is Alt/Air.

Would you dress up? As who//what?? always want to dress up but i have yet to do it because i'm always worried about my weight... all though i'm not fat at all o.o but for next anime convention i want to try dressing up as Mai for Kanon. or Kurumi from my favorite manga Sundome! whee

I've been going to Anime Detour the past three years now. I dressed up the first time as my Gaia avi, the second year was as the Joker in the nurse outfit, and then this past year I didn't dress up...but next year (in April) I will! I will be Captain Jack Harkness from Torchwood. cool

We go to them regularly. My business revolves around cosplay, 70% of my income. MTAC (TN, not Canada) is our local haunt every year since '06. It would have been sooner but I was under the wrong impression as to what any of these kinds of conventions were like. He goes to AWA, but I miss it because I just get overloaded with commissions (Halloween in the next month and all), but I intend to make it next time. I went to BishieCon's first year. And for our honeymoon, we went to Anime South-- unfortunately it's last year. We want to start going to Dragon Con, but it's so close to AWA, that it gets voted out.
It's alot of fun on so many level. I like going to panels, meet new people, (selling s**t), contests, pictures, bands/raves, parties. There is always something to do. Unfortunately, there has been a falter in "quality" for MTAC over the last few times. They seem to be music oriented than anime oriented, focusing more on bands than anime panels. Last year, alot of stuff was either canceled or missed time because bands wouldn't finish on time or wouldn't clear a room after their conferences. The rave was postponed TWO hours because of a band. That's a good way to piss off 4000+ people. The year before they had a panel about pole dancing(!!??) that interfered with the both the yaoi and yuri panels, again, a good way to piss off at least 200+ people. This coming year, it is supposed to be band oriented (music themed), so hoping that the crew pulls their heads out of their asses, they might actually be able to set events up so bands don't interfere with panels. Aside from that, I really enjoy them. It's mostly the night-life that harbors complaints. But that was because most of the panels I attended didn't get interfered with. ...except them %&*!#s delayed the Iron Lolita Competiton!! scream
The first year, I didn't dress up as anything. I just went for one day to get a feel of the place. The next year, I was Belldandy (manga, casual; not the blue dress you always see). After that, I did Lolita and Goru styles (my husband was Goku). Then last year, I cross-played Vegeto (hubby was Goku). At BishieCon I dressed Lolita and Steampunk. At Anime South, I did Android 18 (again, hubby = Goku, there's a pattern here). Next time, I'm going to be a sexy-Pikachu and quite possibly Chichi, and I might grab my 80's fashions and pull a Belldandy out of it again.
I like going to depots too. They're really good if you want to get something you missed at a convention's dealer room. I get to fill my comic collections at times, especially Dark Horse stuff.

I went to my first one last year! It was a week before my birthday xD. Too bad I was sick though. Eh, anyways, I did dress up as Naruto from Naruto Shippuden, but then I got some stuff and switched to being Tobi XD. I'm hoping to go to my 2nd one this coming February ^^.

Sadly...I have never been to one. Though I'd really like to! If I went, I'd probably dress up as a Neko! I love Nekos! Or maybe a Kitsune....

No I have never been to one but I would love to go to one, because I really like anime and from what I've seen of them they are really fun looking. I would dress up if I could but I'm not sure who...I know my friend would dress up as Kagura from Inuyasha but I'm not sure about myself I'm not great at putting stuff together.

I've been to a couple. Went to New York anime festival 3 years in a row, for all three days all the time. surprised It's supper fun. I always dress up. I wear old halloween costumes and once my stitch Kigurumi but never again! It's wayy to hot to wear that thing at the convention. I want to to to Otakon in July. I know the scifi/anime club in my college is planing to go. I think it be a fun trip. And this year for the anime fest in NY, since they combined it with the nycomiccon I want to be a super hero. Either Poison ivy cuz shes hot, lol, or Phoenix because she's also hot and thats my nickname from my sorority. I have the hair for it now too. Yaa red hair.

Have you been to one? I've been going for a good 5-6 years
Would you like to go? I already have my reservations for two different cons this year smile
Why would you like to go? they are just as amazing as advertised if not more so
Would you dress up? As who//what?? yes, the only cosplays i currently have are an akatsuki cloak (with the right wig/makeup i could be just about any akatsuki member), and toshiro hitsugaya
