Dubhe was, if possible, even more exuberant than usual. The hunting lesson -- his first ever hunting lesson -- had left him feeling pumped and hyper, and he had no way to really take out his enthusiasm. Well, sure, he could wrestle with his brother, but that wasn't fun enough. They wrestled all the time and he knew all his moves already! Dubhe needed a challenge!
Half-skipping with ill-contained excitement, the dark-colored pup made his way back toward the dens, hoping to catch one of his siblings around. His sisters weren't usually his favorite playmates, but they could prove amusing sometimes, and at least it'd shake things up. Besides, he wanted to do some bragging about what an awesome day he'd had, to someone who hadn't been there.
He stopped a little ways from the den and barked excitedly for somebody to come play with him!

The time at the shrine had been interesting, her mind felt more open now than ever before and she looked forward to going there again to learn more about the spirits that dwelt within as well as spending more time with her grandfather. The fact that Dia and Kuri had been less than enthusiastic about the whole thing didn't matter so much now. She had returned to the den not to sleep no she would sleep later but to think on all that she had learned today. The call of her brother brought her out of her thoughts and Pegasus rose to her paws.
Slipping out from the den she looked upon Dubhe. Well my he looked happy, perhaps the hunting lesson went well. She smiled a bit as she padded towards him. "Your training went well?"

He nodded enthusiastically. "Yep!" His rump waggled with ill-contained enthusiasm, his whole body shaking with delight as he romped around her in a full-circle. He took a play stance, chest to the ground and haunches in the air, tail waving like a banner. "Jove says I'm a natural!"
Something playful and a little devilish gleamed in his violet eyes and he jumped without warning to pounce on her and n** at her ears.

"A natural huh?" While Pegasus wasn't a very negative wolf she found it hard to believe that her brother was a natural when it came to hunting already. Yes, the skill was something that all wolves knew, it was bred into them, but those skills needed time to develop and grow. Eventually she too would learn the finer details of hunting but for the time being Pegasus was quite content to learn more about the shrine and spirits with her grandfather, after all they were an important part of this pack as well.
"Well grandfather told us all about the shrine and the spirit that liv-" Her sentence was cut short as Budhe suddenly launched himself at her and she had no time to react. The small pup found herself bowled over with her brother on top and could feel him nipping at her ear. "Hey!" She barked and tried to wiggle away from him, but he was kind of heavy. So she playfully snapped at one of his paws that was resting near her head.

He was clearly completely uninterested in anything she had to say. Maybe because he thought that the spiritual aspects of the pack were stuffy and boring, or maybe just because she was a girl and thus automatically boring, or because it was his sister. Or maybe because he was just too hyper to sit around and listen to much of anything.
So he wasn't exactly apologetic about interrupting her story, and instead yelped playfully and tugged at her ear and pawed at her as she tried to n** him back. Feeling the onslaught of puppy teeth, he jumped off, falling into a crouch, butt wiggling and tail waving like a banner. "I'm such a natural," he declared, eyes gleaming intently, "that I'm gonna hunt YOU! Better start running!"

Once Dubhe was off of her Pegasus was able to roll back onto her feet and gave her body a good shake. She did not care for rough play all that much, especially after such a peaceful and calm visit to the shrine. That was where she belongs and she knew that even after only one visit. Yes, she would hunt and do other things that were expected of her for the pack, but her heart was with the shrine, her grandfather and the spirits. That was the path that she would take. So when Dubhe announced that she would be the next thing that he would hunt she was a little shocked.
Still, being a young pup she did still have a playful side. Barking playfully at her brother Pegasus hesitated for only a moment before turning around and racing off into the trees. She would let Dubhe hunt her, it would help her spend some of her energy and a little exercise never hurt anyone. It would leave her a lot less fidgety the next time she went to visit the shrine.

He gave her a bit of a head start -- it was only fair, after all -- before chasing after her with a certain wild abandon. He just had so much energy to get rid of, especially after having to be so still and calm while he was hunting with Jove. So if he was crashing after her like a crazed grizzly bear, and not stalking her with the grace and ease of the natural-born killer that he knew he was...well, sometimes you had to allow for such things.
He gave an intimidating little WOOF! before leaping forward, nipping at her heels, pawing at her tail as he chased after her. He had the playful-puppy equivalent of bloodlust, and at that moment could be satisfied with nothing less than wrestling her to the ground and nipping her all over until she cried for mercy.
So, with that intent in mind, he put on an extra thrust of speed and JUMPED! to bowl her over.

Pegasus ran as fast as her legs would carry her but she was no match for Dubhe's speed and persistence. But she tried. She tried hard to avoid the inevitable. All too soon though the reality of the situation came crashing to her - in the form of her brother landing on top of her. Pegasus let out a yelp as she tumbled across the ground with Dubhe.
"Dubhe!" She whined and tried to wiggled her body out from under his. While she couldn't be certain Pegasus had a bad feeling she would be sore and bruised come the morning, all thanks to Dubhe making her his play thing in this unfair game of hunt. "Get off of me!" She barked and nipped at whatever part was nearest to her teeth, though she couldn't see what part of him that was by the way she was pinned down on the ground.

"Hah!" he said, nipping her -- gently, but still rougher than she'd probably like -- tail wagging and looking totally triumphant. "Got you! Got yoooou!" He felt her teeth graze his chest as she tried to shove him off and he relented, after a moment, climbing off of her. He grinned. "You didn't have a chance!"

Geez Dughe was such a sore winner. It's not like she had even wanted to play his silly hunting game at all. She had wanted to tell him about her day at the shrine but he shrugged it off like it didn't matter at all. What he clearly didn't understand was that spirits were important to the pack, nearly as important as hunting as that kept the pack fed, but still important. "I didn't want to play" She pointed out as he climbed off her. Gathering her paws behind her Pegasus rose to her feet and gave her fur a shake. In truth she did want to play with her brother, just not the hunting game he had chosen.
"Can't we do something else?" Pegasus questioned him. Mainly sometime that doesn't involve me getting tackled to the ground for a third time today.

What did it matter if she didn't want to play? She'd still lost, and that was the important part! But, oh well. She was probably going to cry about it or something next time. He sighed dramatically, giving her a long-suffering look. "Fine," he said, flopping down to his haunches and looking over her skeptically. "What do you want to do?"

Pegasus pondered for a few moments on what they could do. Clearly Dubhe has no interest in hearing about the shrine or the spirits that grandfather had spoke to her about, so that was out of the question. "Well..." She tipped her head to the side in thought. She knew he just wanted to chase her and make her his prey, but that wasn't something she was really interested in. Still, now that she had been tackled by her brother a few times already she was in the mood to play, just to not let him make the first move. If she played this right they could both have fun, hopefully fun that didn't involve her getting completely beaten.
"Well grandfather well telling me about the different kinds of spirits." She began, hoping that he would fall for her trap of letting him think she was just going to do the boring lesson thing. "And they represent all kinds of things, like plants, and emotions and...surprise!" At that she leapt toward Dubhe, ready to tackle him to the ground and defeat him before he had a chance to defend himself.

Oh, here she goes again, he thought. Plants and emotions...how ridiculous, everybody knows plants don't have any emotions! But, he politely waited for her, his attentions trailing away to a bug crawling in the grass at her paws, and every movement it made and if he moved juuuuust right maybe he could ...."ACK!" He was on his back before he knew what had happened, his sister on top of him. "Hey!" He called, pawing at her. "No fair!" He scrambled to throw her off of him, totally embarrassed at having been defeated by a girl. But he couldn't help but grin a little, too. "That was a neat trick. But I won't fall for THAT one again."

She couldn't believe it, that actually worked! "Ha!" She laughed. "I totally got you!" Pegasus wasn't a wolf to normally rub things it but she couldn't help but be proud of herself for being so sneaky. Letting Dubhe get up she gave his a sly smile. "I bet you will fall for it again, I'll just need to wait a while before pulling it again." Giving her muscles a stretch Pegasus looked about. "So now what should we do? Wanna see if we can find anything interesting?" She was certain there was plenty of interesting things they could find, but chances were Dubhe would just want to roughhouse some more and while she had managed to sneak in that one small victory she didn't really feel like play fighting much more.

He gave her an appreciative side-long look. "Yeah, you got me," he admitted. Oh, he'd get her back...but he'd let her celebrate her victory for a minute first.
He considered her offer for a moment then, and nodded. "...Yeah, actually. Let's go explore. I want to practice tracking. And, hey...who knows. We could find some spirits, or something. Right?" He grinned. See? he was trying to show a little interest in her life! Sort of.
