There is a path in the squad where there lies a dirt road, going along in a near-perfect straight line as multiple stones lie embedded beneath as it gives the ground pebble stone pathways. Grass is separated by this road as on each side lies a blossoming tree as the road is symmetrical with these trees as the pathway ends at a single tree that lies dead for some odd reason.

(( I forgot to ask you - what will the circumstances be for this training session? Will Kasen discover the new technique by chance, or will his Zanpaktou have been telling him to train for it? For now, I'll just pretend that this is a regular training match. ))
A soft thump disturbed the pebbles on the dirt track leading from the 10th Division perimeters; it appeared that Hinata had arrived... though was not currently focusing on her surroundings much. As was a daily occurrence, a ferocious battle between she and her Zanpaktou was raging around in her head, and, dreading the headaches that ensued, she was currently blocking out Harikaze's verbal abuse with all her mental strength. Consequently, she hadn't even registered that she had reached her destination, and instead carried on flash-stepping until she bashed into the dead tree at the end of the path.
"Idiot." The cruel syllables rang out, and with a cold snigger, Harikaze retreated.
Meanwhile, Hinata, sprawled unceremoniously across the ground where she had bounced off the tree, decided that she was in too much of a bad mood to get up, and so remained in that position until Kasen's arrival.

((Sort of both, basically Kasen knows only that his zanpakuto wants to teach him something, but more details of the technique would be told in subtle hints as the battle progresses))
The sound of wind was was drowned a bit as the sound of a cloak fluttered around as Kasen walked down the straight grounded aisle as he looked around to see the sun dimly glowing behind a cloud as he looked to his right to see an odd spiritual fire on his right shoulder while his left shoulder was surrounded in a dark aura emanating from it. "You said you were going to help me get stronger, Kaosu Sasori.." Kasen said quietly so nobody else would notice Kasen talking to the figures seen only by himself. "We are going to teach you, however you cannot learn simply by fighting us, you must push pass your own boundaries, and we are an extension of yourself. You must defeat someone who is higher to become stronger." Sasori told Kasen in her usual stinging tone as Kasen looked on to see something odd.
"Hinata?" Kasen asked as he looked to see his captain on the ground looking unprofessional as this was something out of the ordinary as he didn't expect to see her like this. "What are you doing?" He asked curiously as he squatted down a bit as he extended his right hand outward towards her. "Come on, I can't let you train me from down there, that might look ridiculous." Kasen said with a smile that couldn't be noticed as his cloak covered his mouth, however his tone should have spoken for him.

"Huh?" Hinata's eyes fazed into focus again and met the eyes of the very person she had been waiting for. Kasen crouched, looking politely puzzled and was stretching out a hand to help her up. Suddenly mindful of how ridiculous she must be looking, she shot up so quickly that she almost banged heads with her trainee in the process. Hastily sweeping the dirt off her haori, she addressed him.
"Ahem - sorry! Wasn't focusing. Right, let's get moving, then. Now, do you have any particular goals for this sparring match?" She began as was custom for a training session, drawing from the observation that her trainees usually concentrated harder when given a target. She sensed, from Kasen's reiatsu as he stood, a slight urgency to train and become stronger - more so than was usual. This was going to be an interesting match, especially as Harikaze refused to co-operate.

Kasen stepped back for a moment as Hinata almost bonked him on the noggin, and really he wouldn't want that since he came from the 4th Division's healing area a while ago and wouldn't like to be back for a while. Kasen looked at her as he thought for a moment as he thought about what his zanpakuto told him earlier, while the only goal indeed was for Kasen to spar with Hinata until he could figure out what this new power was, but he needed to give Hinata an answer. "Well, I would like to spar you with no Kido involved, me and my zanpakuto are going to face you together." Kasen shifted his cloak to reveal behind him was a second blade, a katana with a paw-print shaped guard and a purple hilt. "This is my second sword, I am also going to make sure that I don't use this, for this is merely a container of my own abilities." Kasen said as he took the katana out and threw it to the side at the base of a tree.
He took off his cloak as he tossed it aside to where he threw his katana, and if one would noticed, his playing cards were in there giving him no elemental powers of sorts until he and his zanpakuto required them. "Hinata, last time we met, we nearly tied out when you were a Vice-Captain, now here you stand before me as my captain. Let us hope both of us have truly improved since last time." Kasen said with a half-smile as he was exhausted a bit, however he had more than enough energy to spar and battle.

Hinata chuckled darkly, already resigning herself to the fact that she would have to fight without her Shikai for at least half of the battle, or whenever else Harikaze decided to get off her lazy backside.
"Haha... If I hadn't improved at all since the last time you sparred me, who would have ever promoted me?" The last part of this sentence was almost lost in the wind as she was gone in a flash, and for a few seconds, was untraceable. A flash of metal behind Kasen alerted of her presence -- her sword, blurring with the speed at which it was drawn was headed in a vicious slash across the back of Kasen's neck. No sooner had it passed, however, and Hinata was gone again, leaving only a sigh in the breeze as the sign she had ever been there.
Presently, she re-appeared, this time above her trainee, and slashed in an arc with her blade at the top of his head, before raining a complicated series of jabs and cuts down at him.

Kasen ducked a bit as the sheath of his zanpakuto had taken his place as he was now lower as he squat down close to his knees being near the ground. Kasen held his zanpakuto in his right hand as it raised swiftly as sparks met with their blades touching for a moment until they separated. Kasen brought his blade up the blunt side as he tried to avoid the attacks, with a few ripping his shihakusho at his shoulder, however he was to avoid the attacks themselves. "You seem to have become prideful, but beware."
Kasen began his counterattack as he thrust his blade upwards in swift stabs and arced slashes as he aimed for her stomach as he looked at his with an observant glare as he finished his barrage as he raised his blade in a swift thrust, however his blade slipped out of his hand as it was caught into his left had as it was raising itself as if an uppercut was being done.

"And it's not like you have no ego either," Hinata countered through the bombardment of hacks and slashes, "so that makes us even!" Laughing, she flipped back through the air onto her feet just as Kasen switched his blade to his other hand, and ducked the slash that he had sent in her direction. She then put a burst of energy into her Shunpo and travelled in a circle around him, making two after-images of herself which also raised their blades and slashed downwards from his head.
Knowing that this could hardly have fazed him (as he appeared to be serious about this battle, and a serious Kasen was a dangerous Kasen), she then proceeded to launch a ferocious kick at his shins. Then, using her momentum she hooked a foot around his left ankle, then flipped backwards whilst sweeping at his legs with her Zanpaktou - all of this meant to cause him to overbalance and fall.

Kasen looked to see the captain was gone from his sights as he noticed something out of his eye as he looked around himself. He saw something moving at a quick pace, and with that haori it became obvious Hinata was now encircled around him as he saw something following her when he saw it was another Hinata, as another followed that one as well. "She's fast enough to leave images of herself behind..." Kasen thought as this was bad as he saw the blade rise above the woman's side as it came down towards him. Giving few-to-none a moment to spare, he dropped to the ground as he saw a shimmering blade above himself as he then felt something coming at his legs.
A gasping pain came from his legs as he felt his shins being struck as he noticed Hinata had gotten closer, however she was now too close as his left ankle was now trapped as if in a fisherman's net. "Oh noes..." Kasen thought as he was pulled off his feet as he fell backwards with the sight of Hinata forcing him to fall. Reacting quickly, he shifted his body around as he stabbed his zanpakuto into the ground as he raised his legs above his body as he balanced himself out. "That was too close..." Kasen said as he was now inverted and upside-down as he was using his body to balance himself on his blade. Pushing upwards as his body dropped a bit, he raised his blade of the ground as he slashed upwards as he returned to standing position as he went upwards into the sky as the dust rose out spreading to create a curtain to shroud them.

Hinata, having been about to point her Zanpaktou at Kasen's neck, was forced to dodge as he balanced atop his sword, then aimed a slash at her which almost took off the edge of her haori sleeve. Resurfacing, she coughed as she inhaled the dust thrown up by Kasen's sudden leap into the air.
Being, of course, not egocentric at all, the first thing the Captain thought was: Ugh... damn. It's going to take ages to wash all of this dirt out of my hair. Then, concentrating again on the battle, she considered the screen of dust before her.
Fancy creating some wind so that this thing will clear up?
"Not really," came Harikaze's reply.
Suit yourself.
Bending, she too propelled herself into the air, shooting from the dust cloud and fumbling with something on her head. At first, it would appear that she was re-arranging her hair; upon closer inspection, her fingers were actually extracting the shuriken holding her pigtails up. With a blur of her arm she launched these projectiles at Kasen, one aimed squarely between his eyes, the other at the wrist of his sword arm, in order to at least give him an injury to think about.

Kasen descended a bit as he looked around at the dust cloud as he stayed on guard since Hinata was capable of anything as he noticed a shadow in the dust. "Looks like she's fixing her hair..What an odd time to do something like that..." Kasen thought as he noticed something come at him, he noticed it wasn't a large shadow so he guessed it couldn't be Hinata as he noticed another thing, it was coming quick. Kasen ducked as his body lurched downward as he noticed it was a shuriken as he looked down to see another one coming at him as it was aiming for his hand. Kasen lurched forward as he attempted to slash at the shuriken as the metal object clanged against his blade, sending it upward into his right shoulder as it wasn't fully deflected as Kasen felt the sharp stabbing pain entering his body.
"Aah...." Kasen groaned as he landed on the ground as the cloud dissipated as he looked at the bloody object in his shoulder as he looked at Hinata. Raising his left hand to take it out, he swiftly pulled away the shuriken as he dropped it onto the ground. "Well, that's surprising, never expected you to have a few of those..." Kasen said as he dropped his blade in his hand as he motioned it to turn as it came down as it rotated around his hand until Kasen was holding it once more. "What else are you hiding, Hinata-taichou...?" Kasen asked as he jumped backwards as he needed to create some distance as she was now in the air and with that, could be deadly.

"Hmm... oh yeah - well, I have throwing knives in my socks, daggers hidden up my sleeves and exploding satsumas in my sword sheath, so you better watch out!" Hinata grinned, though quickly sobered up. "But seriously, don't overlook things just because they look harmless. Your enemy really might have machine-gun earrings..." She winced at the recollection of that Sensei's annoying habit of tinkering with weapons to make them look normal; the large crate of hairpin-throwing stars had been a present from him, of course.
Hastily re-focusing on the battle, the Captain scrutinised Kasen, before shooting from the air towards him at blinding speed. She raised her Zanpaktou as if to strike, but before Kasen had a chance to parry, she flipped so that her feet were under her, and landed with one foot on the tip of his Zanpaktou.
Thank goodness Katana aren't double-edged.
"Idiot! What kind of poorly-planned circus stunt is that?!" Harikaze berated her.
Not listening, Hinata sprung up, off Kasen's blade and launched a spinning kick at his neck from point-blank range. She then used Shunpo to land herself a few metres away from him, before he retaliated.
"Are you going to release your Shikai for me, then? Then we'll have a real battle!" Unbeknownst to Kasen, this was directed at Harikaze as well.

Kasen looked around as she was beginning to wonder if she had weapons in her bra as well, however he needed to focus at the task at hand as he watched his captain descend and land on his blade before he could attack. "What are you-" Kasen began as he ducked as his hair felt a the shrug of her kick as he brought his upper body upwards as it sprung into place as he looked at Hinata. She shouted about releasing shikai, however Kasen wondered if he should as he consulted with his zanpakuto for a moment. "Will you let me unleash your abilities?" He asked as she peered at him for a moment until she gave him a single word. "Collide..." Kasen looked confused for a moment as he didn't understand until he pondered it for a while. "Understood..." He muttered as he shook his head as that was his reply. "I won't be doing anything of the sorts Hinata."
Kasen used shunpo to move forward as he moved towards Hinata's right side as he moved at a quick pace. Kasen positioned his blade outwards as he jumped towards Hinata, however his blade was positioned outwards to slice as he came by her. He also positioned himself so that he would be turned as he attacked as he swung his legs outward to kick at Hinata's side and jump off if the strike landed.

"Shikai? No way."
"Che. Double rejection... I'm such a loser," Hinata commented absent-mindedly, though was quickly brought back to reality by Kasen's fast-approaching Reiatsu. Her eyes flashed as he appeared before her, leaping, sword positioned to slice.
Blocking the first slash with the flat of her blade, the female Shinigami then heard a swoosh as Kasen's foot came whipping at her side. As her arm was already there, instead of dodging as was the sensible thing to do, she reflexively brought her wrist up to parry his kick. Her arm collided with his foot with a horrible crunch - although she had not felt any bones breaking, she was going to have one hell of a bruise the next morning. Plus, if not for the tightly-wrapped bandages she wore, her elbow would have popped out of its joint again.
Are you even going to attempt to heal me?
Her attempt at communication was met by another snide remark:
"Looks like foot is super-effective against wrist. And as an answer to your question: no."
"Oh, for goodness' sake..." Rolling her eyes, Hinata re-positioned herself in a defensive stance, anticipating Kasen's next attack.

Kasen felt his foot make the mark as the kick struck, however he had to continue or lose the combo that could be as Kasen pivoted his body towards Hinata. He swung his left leg downwards as he was facing outward towards Hinata's left as he brought his leg upwards to kick at the back of Hinata's head as he switched his blade into his left hand as he swung his blade in a backhand swing towards her chest as the double attacks were to continue to halt her. "I must not let her counter, or release her shikai..." Kasen thought as he continued on with the attack.
