So far in the few days she had 'seperated' from Braum she had inherited her own pumpkin and was left alone to raise it. Sure she could hang out with Siddie or Shehk and hope they could help her, but they would be busy with their own kids. Rain also had a partnern and Sammy soon realized she was going to be hard pressed to find anyone to work with. Almost all the people she would want to work with had been in the class and paired with another student. Sure she could just 'ask around' but something told her that would be as good as randomly being paired; you wouldn't work well together.
So she sat to the side of the track alone cradling a lone pumpkin wrapped in a blanket as she watched other students run track. She really should have tried out but at this rate she wouldn't have the free time with Crickets project she feared.
She needed a partner, she needed a plan; she would get one she would have never expected.

Nuk was one of the few who hadn't been in the 'Emergency Sex-ed' class Cricket had instructed, having been conspiciously absent as soon as the word 'baby' had come into play (especially when 'making' hadn't followed it.) When it came to being a parent, even a 'just for a little while' parent, there was no way the skinwalker would be caught dead anywhere near where that was the assignment. As such, he'd spent much of the day slinking around under the main staircase, occasionally heading out to duck into Forms and Faces or the Cafeteria for a snack and overall avoiding pretty much anyone who might see and/or report him to Cricket. It was only after that he'd realized Shehk had been in the class, which had caused him great inner turmoil -- on one hand, he had no interest in playing daddy... but on the other, he did not at ALL like the idea of someone ELSE playing daddy to Shehk's mommy. (He was only glad that it had ended up being Claire who got to play 'daddy' -- not the worst candidate in the world, despite the whole stomach-mouth thing. Maybe he'd get some hot girl on girl action.)
He was still feeling a little iffy about it a few days later as he headed to the track, looking to burn off some excess energy when he noticed Sammy sitting by the side, looking much more forlorn than she usually did. Which was weird, because he'd gotten the feeling Sammy liked to run the track... perhaps it had something to do with the blanketed bulge resting in her lap. Tilting his head a bit, the skinwalker couldn't resist approaching after less than a mili-second's pause, shoving his hands in his pockets and sauntering over to stand next to her, peering down at his friend with a curious eye.
"Yo Zombie, how's it hanging?" he asked with genuine curiosity, crouching down on his haunches before rocking back to fully sit, getting a good glimpse at the pumpkin in the process. "You got one of those pumpkin-brats too, huh?"

Sammy continued to watch the students, the sound of shoes stomping plastic gravel of the track cheering and taunting one another like they always did. Her eyes followed each student in turn before slipping down to the bundle in her arms patting it gently. "Wonder if you'll like track and stuff whatever you are..." She looked back up not noticing the skinwalker, simply enjoying the weather and watching the students continue to run.
Glancing up she smiled for the first time since the class, "Sup Flea Bag, to be honest I've been better." She glanced down at the pumpkin holding it up a bit to let Nuk get a better glance with a nod. "Yeah, but my original Pumpkin was snatched up by Braum who I was paired with. He tried to convince me to cheat and switch partners against Crickets orders." She let out a sigh, Nuk would have maybe disproved, hell he probably would have cheated too to work with Shehk, then again he just flat out skipped the class. "I ended up ratting him out to Cricket so she gave me my own Pumpkin and now I'm stuck guarding it with no help. I can't ask Shehk or Siddie they both got paired up." Glancing at the pumpkin again she offered it to Nuk, "Mind holding it for a moment? Things made my legs numb sitting here so long."
