Name: Program I // PI Faction: Anti-Virus Class: Brute Stage: 1 Place of Origin: CoreTech Washington, D.C. Creator: Elizabeth Nightingale Date Created: January 10, 2142 Color scheme: White, pink, and red Personality Don't look at me... // Betsy designed PI to be the exact opposite of Xabaras; as such she is extremely shy and has no confidence or charisma whatsoever. She frequently feels that she will never be able to live up to typical anti-virus standards, and even missions deemed successful by her peers she sees as failures. She has a difficult time interacting with other programs, especially other anti-viruses. Despite her almost crippling fear of social interaction, she is surprisingly good at her job, and though she may not yet believe in herself, Abraxas sees unlimited potential in this budding program. I'll do it! // As a compensation for her fear of communication, PI often volunteers to do tasks no one else will want to do. She has convinced herself that this is because she is working on breaking out of her shell, but really it's because she knows these types of tasks will guarantee her solitude. She is an enthusiastic worker when left to her own devices, and can complete missions quite quickly. You obviously don't know your own strength. // As a brute class anti-virus, she has almost limitless stamina and near Herculean strength. Or she will, once she reaches an advanced stage. As she is now, PI does have above-average endurance and power. And she seems to forget this frequently, leading to broken circuits and motherboards. Charming naivete... // PI is hopelessly naive and thinks there is good in everyone, even malware. She is convinced eradication is wrong: rather malware should be helped to see the error of their ways so they can reform and help other malicious software repent. She has the mindset of a Christian missionary confronted with "heathen" people; she can't see that malware are perfectly happy as they are and have no intention of changing. Abraxas hopes that her experiences in the virtual world will quickly dispell PI's delusions. I feel pretty, oh so pretty! // Although PI may be just a bit of coding, she was created female, and subscribes to a few choice female stereotypes. Because she's so shy, she sees physical appearance as a way to express herself. She loves clothes and makeup, and while Abraxas has tried to keep PI's spending tendencies in check, as PI grows she is likely to completely disregard Abraxas's advice.

PI was created as a replacement for Xabaras. Betsy had designed Abraxas and Xabaras to work as a team, and she could see Abraxas was not as efficient at malware eradication on her own. Therefore, she intended PI to be Abraxas's new companion; however she was able to correct previous mistakes in coding, making PI superior to her original counterparts. Unfortunately, Xabaras killed Betsy before PI could be finished. Abraxas discovered PI's coding in a locked file in one of Betsy's computers. Xabaras, his lack of finesse coupled with an inability to see the bigger picture, had neglected to go through any of Betsy's belongings after killing her. After careful consideration, Abraxas decided to train PI herself, as a sort of trump card in the fight with Xabaras she knows will come. PI remains unknown to Xabaras, and Abraxas plans to keep it that way. Because PI now has no creator, she reports directly to Abraxas for updates, and has come to see her as a big sister. PI longs to be like Abraxas, but lacks her confidence. However, she is determined to help in every way possible and to make Abraxas proud.

Name: Elizabeth Nightingale Sex: Female Age: 28 (deceased) Nationality: American Location at time of death: Washington, DC Appearance: 5'2", 130 lbs, brown, curly, shoulder-length hair, and brown eyes Elizabeth Nightingale came from a regular family in an ordinary suburb of Washington, DC. Everything about the first sixteen years of her life was irritatingly unextraordinary, until she discovered an underground malware board. In typical teenage fashion, she felt that her middle-class lifestyle was stifling and that her parents could never understand her, and so eased her frustration by creating viruses. They were harmless at first, more for amusement than anything. But as her knowledge and experience grew, her creations became more sinister, until one particular worm mutated and gained AI. Betsy tried to reverse the mutation, but the damage was done. In an unfortunate chain of events involving the American Government and powerful CoreTech anti-viral software, Betsy found herself in prison at the age of eighteen. Just when she thought her life was permanently ruined, a researcher from CoreTech approached her with an offer she couldn't refuse: he would get her released from prison if she agreed to come with him and join a cutting-edge anti-virus development team. The man had been tracking down the top malicious software programmers; after all, it takes a thief to catch a thief. Betsy worked at CoreTech for ten years before her untimely death. She was only twenty six when she created Abraxas and Xabaras, programs that catapulted her to international fame. After Xabaras's infection and subsequent defeat, Betsy spent 6 months developing a new program to accompany Abraxas on her missions. While Betsy's career continued to be highly publicized after the Xabaras mishap, she managed to keep PI's development a secret. She had been deeply upset by Xabaras's demise, and named this new program simply "Program I" in an effort to prevent emotional attachment. When Xabaras activated the virus that had attached itself to the organotechnology in her body, causing them to short-circuit, Betsy did not feel scared, or angry, or upset. She felt regret, deep regret for not doing more to save Xabaras. She knew her death was his right, payment for what had happened to him. And as she gazed upon her program one last time, she hoped that Abraxas would be able to do what she could not.
