Sailor Themis returned to Earth in the exact same place where he had left it - the alley where he and countless other senshi had slain a youma. The dust was still all over his coat, ironically enough. There was now frost added to the mix.
He was alone, and he had no idea what time it was. He didn't even think to look at his phone - the second he recognized his surroundings, he leaped on the trash bin, and then to the roof, fleeing the scene in almost blind panic. He jumped carelessly, and in fact almost felt once or twice, but he couldn't care less. He needed some place familiar. Safe.
There was only one place he wished to be at the moment. It wasn't his, but Bell had given him her spare key not too long ago.
It was 5am when he finally made his way there, only remembering to drop his henshin in-extremis before he unlocked the door and made his not-so-silent way inside. The house was still and quiet. Maybe... maybe she wasn't back yet.
He didn't even make it to the stairs - he just let himself slide against the door until he was sitting on the ground, still shaking like if he had seen a ghost.
In truth, he had.

Bell had not easily fallen asleep that night. Even then once she did, it was not restful or deep. Even the subtle sound of the door being unlocked, and opened was enough to rouse her from her sleep. She sat up in bed and contemplated getting up to see what the noise was, for her worried mind hadn't registered it as the door. Eventually deciding to do so, her small bare feet hit the wooden floor quietly, and she pulled on a thin silken robe over her small night down. Her hair was free from its braid, wavy where it normally was braided, and tostled, but right now appearance was the least of her worries.
She didn't turn on the light as she made her way through the hall, and down the stairs. She didn't need to - both the light of the moon and streetlamps that filtered through the windows was enough to see by, as well as her eyes being adjusted to the low light by now. The closer she got to the door the more she began to think she had just been hearing things, until a slumped form at the base of the door met her eye. She thought she recognized that form. "Xavier?"

Usually, the sight of his very lovely girlfriend in a very lovely night grown would have probably have made him pretty happy. (Hey, he was a red-blooded straight male.) But that course of thinking kind of required him not being freaked straight out of his damn mind.
He was still shaking like a leaf, to be honest. There were many things he wanted to say, but nothing really came out.
He latched, though. Poor Bell.
"I-Im still me, am I ?" ...What kind of question was that ?

Bell kneeled next to her obviously spooked boyfriend, who hours earlier she was sure would be transported off to a utopia never to return again, and offered a warm, concerned, expression. She brushed back his hair and "shhh-ed" him.
"Yes, love, yes, it's alright. It's all alright, shh..."
What could have happened for him to be so rattled? Had Kurma set up the senshi? Had they not really been transported 'home' but into some elaborate, dangerous, trap? Or maybe it wasn't utopia they found...
"What happened?"

This would have been the place for a neat, logical explanation. Unfortunately for Bell, this wasn't going to be a neat, logical explaination.
"I went there, right ? To.... To Themis." He gluped, trying to make his voice stay even. "There was no one there. Everything was broken down... abandoned..." Utopia, this hadn't been.
"I found this large building... it kind of was like a triangular castle made of ice." It was a good thing that Bell had been there for the space bit, or she would have probably shipped him off to the nearest loony bin. "It was just as destroyed and barren as the rest... But then suddenly it wasn't, I just... started seeing s**t, and I saw myself in the ice, and I wasn't me. He hadn't seen much, but he'd seen enough to promptly conclusion-jump. "Then suddenly everything was destroyed and dead again, and I just... got the hell out of there." He hadn't been able to take it, not after seeing 'himself'.

So, that was why they had ended up on Earth. They had no where else to go. by that assumption everyone's name sake was destroyed, shattered, in ruin. Bell was glad she hadn't gone. She had been hoping for some place to finally call home. Some place she would be welcome with open arms and truly belong. To have that mental image, that hope, shattered...well, she'd probably of been in just as much a mess.
A hallucination? Or.. "Maybe....maybe it was a memory." Kurma had said that they needed to know who they really were. Maybe returning to their 'home' was suppose to trigger something. Memories.

"I don't know." He admitted. "s**t, I just don't..." He hadn't been sure what to expect, really, but he certainly hadn't expected something like THAT.
At least he seemed to be calming now that the source of his freakout was light years away - literally. Bell probably helped, as well, and he weakly pushed himself back into a standing position, careful not to accidentally push or hurt her in the process.
"I was just..." The words weren't coming. He frowned. "I didn't see... him very well." Some part of him refused to snap the figure he had seen as himself - but what else could have been reflected at him ? "...He had my eyes. No glasses. Really pale ice blue hair. That's all I really saw before the... memory went away."

Bell stood as well, and tried to be as understanding as she could. "It's a lot to take in so quick. I'm sure there's going to be a lot of freaked out senshi returning to Earth." And Bell could have easily been one of them. Maybe it was better that she didn't go. Xavier needed a calm source to air his experience to right now. It was awful, but she was a little glad that what he had found wasn't the paradise she'd envisioned. She wasn't going to voice her fears, however. She didn't need him feeling guilty on top of being freaked out.
"It's all okay now," She said, and with that Xavier would feel her hand slip in to his, and give a reassuring squeeze.

"Yeah, it's... over now." Unless he started having visions even here, which... he didn't really want to think about. He accepted his hand gladly, and the feel of her touch helped him calm.
"...If I was a senshi back then... I quite obviously failed my duty. There wasn't... many hints of what happened. Blasted off buildings. Dead trees. Chipped ice. Im not sure what it was." He didn't have Tallulah's deductive prowess, after all.
Maybe he was the unlucky one. Maybe everyone else wouldn't see the exact same thing he had seen - a world empty and broken. Maybe they would find thriving civilizations, maybe they could come back with knowledge that would help turn the tide. Maybe they'd succeed where he had failed.

"I think maybe that is why we were all incarnated here on Earth," Bell said, "It makes sense. Considering that that Kurma guy said when we met him." Bell would not have Xavier thinking himself a failure. Not then, not now. She wouldn't stand for it.
"What matters is that the earth doesn't meet the same fate. Alone we might not have been able to protect our own homes, but together, the earth will. not. fall. With you, me, and everyone else fighting, we can accomplish far more than we ever could have back then. The past doesn't matter. We have to live for now. For the future." She said this with intensity, but had a smile, none the less. her other hand cupped his cheek "No matter who you were, or what happened, I won't love you any less."

Maybe it was. Why else would they have been reborn in-masse on one single planet, roughly in the same timespan ? All the senshi he knew were roughly his age. Well, beside Hugbell, obviously.
Coincidence ? He wasn't sure if he even believed in coincidences anymore. Not after all this.
Her last sentence was just the think he'd been truly waiting for without really being aware that he was doing just that - but yet, as she said that... it felt like part of the weight that dragged him down had been lifted from him. "...Thanks." He finally said, leaning forward to kiss her cheek.
"Im sorry for barging in in... s**t, what time it is ?" Whoooooops.

"You didn't barge in - I gave you a key. You're welcome any time. Speaking of time, I have no idea. I think it was three when I finally got...some semblance of sleep..." Not that it mattered. He didn't have to work. Neither did she. Depending on what day of the week it was - and at this point Bell wasn't bothering to keep track anymore - he might of had school, but... Okay, she probably shouldn't be encouraging him to play hookie....

"....What day are we, again ?" Well, crap. He couldn't remember the last time he slept, that could be bad. How long had he spend on Themis ? No clue. Hopefully not days.
The fact that Bell hadn't gone to her own star never crossed his mind at all. Too much in too little time probably helped distract from that fact.
"Ngh, who cares." He suddenly decided. "Whatever day it is, I need some sleep before I go even more batshit than I am."

"I have no idea~" Bell answered with a bit of a laugh. It was sad, the days just continued to run one into the other. Luckily he decided he didn't really need to know.
"Well then," Bell took a few steps back, tugging him along with her. It was presumptuous of her, perhaps, to assume he'd be okay with staying here. However Bell didn't think he'd mind a repeat of his last sleepover. With him back in this world her mind would actually be able to get some rest. "let's get some rest."

Xavier really wasn't complaining. Now that the rush of his freaking out had died down, he wasn't sure he could have navigated his way home without running head first into a light pole. Or two.
And so he just followed her. This was for the best, anyway - he didn't want to be alone. Not right now.
