dja ever read those later Little House on the Prairie books where she is a teacher? the author really did teach in a one room school, or her mom did, and those kids had to serious serious crap.

today it's more like "well, what do you say about that? share your feelings!"
and you learn next to nothing.

(especially moi since i avoided math and hard science)
