Maia stood in the park, surrounded by the slightly pummeled snowmen from the snowball battle a few day prior. Tonight Maia was alone and she was glad for it because she was attempting to figure out something which confused her thoroughly.

"Sweet Harmony," she called out for the third time that night, allowing the music to fill her very being and watching with a grin as the lovely translucent music notes of her attack begin to form. The rush out to the snowman before her, surrounding it and being absorbed.

As soon as the attack ended Maia was awash with dizziness. So much so that she grabbed her head and stumble forward a few steps before tripping and landing on her knees in the snow.

She groaned and none to softly, holding her head and waiting for the dizziness to pass. This was annoying and she did not know why it was happening. She was only singing right, but then why was she dizzy, heavy, tired.

Scylla was out in the park for some reason; she did typically prefer to patrol the other parts of the city rather than the park, especially since there always seemed to be rumor of a battle there late at night. It was snowing, however, and there were few other places as aesthetically pleasing as the park at night, so she took her chances and moved out into the snow, listening to it crunch under her boots. Her fuku was hardly meant for winter combat, so she had her gloved hands rubbing along her exposed upper arms, sometimes rubbing her upper legs that were exposed to the cold winter air. She would really have to suggest winter suits should anyone ever ask her how the life of a Scout could be improved. Cold was inconvenient.

The black-haired young woman ducked a tree branch as she moved through the edge of the park, only to look up as she heard a voice. She pulled out her Senshi phone, clicking it open; there was, it seemed, a senshi in the area that she had met once before, probably at a senshi meeting. Scanned into her phone was Sailor Maia.

Alrighty. She flipped the phone back closed and moved quickly in the direction she'd heard the voice from. If a scout was fighting in the park- and it was a possibility- then she needed to scoot over that way quickly, while it was possible that another figure in the fight could make a difference.

The dizziness passed, but Maia's frustration with the situation did not. She jumped up swaying a bit, but catching herself. She stood still for several moment and at first it looked like she would just stand there fist balled with an angry look on her face, but then she moved.

She span and kicked the 'stomach' of the snowman, her foot going clean through and the snowman toppling over beside her. "Arrg," came a cry from her, "why is this happening?"

She took a few deep breaths before she decided to try once more. She thought any more than just once more would probably hurt her, but she didn't understand why, while she could use her attack it was effecting her in the way.

"Sweet Harmony," she cried the music once again filling her and spilling from her lips in sweet tones. The notes came and went flying, but without a target, for Maia had knocked over the snowman. The kept going several feet until they came into contact with a tree.

Maia swayed stumbling along like she had 10 beers to many at a wild party. The feeling was not nice and she felt like she would be sick in a moment. Frowning she fell over into the snow and just lay there.

"Sweet Harmony!" The name of the senshi's attack was audible, as was the note of annoyance. Scylla burst onto the scene in time to see- nothing, except for a redheaded senshi falling into the snow, face first. There were a few decimated snowmen, likely remnants of the 'brutal free for all' that she had heard so much about.

A quick check of the area showed no footprints, so Scylla moved over to the fallen senshi and knelt next to her, leaning over. "Hey!" she said it loudly before reaching out to touch her. "Sailor Maia, right?" she shook the girl very gently, grateful to at least see the puffs of her breath. What on earth had happened here?!

Maia flinched lightly at the touch of the other, but she had registered her name, so she did not jerk away. She opened her eyes and looked up to see another Sailor Scout, with tons of a hair. She groaned slightly and forced herself into a sitting position her hands doing instantly to her forehead and her eyes shutting once more against pressing dizziness.

"Yes, I am Sailor Maia, though I am not sure exactly who you are," she mumbled rubbing her temples for a moment. Sighing lightly she opened her eyes once more and looking to the other senshi, blinking a few time before shaking her head.

"I hope I did not worry you," she said as the dizziness finally subsided, "I was just uh training. I recently discovered my attack makes me dizzy, though I am starting to think it may be more a kin to being drunk. Never even been drunk did not want to know what it feels like."

"I'm Sailor Scylla." Thank goodness the girl was alright. She pulled out her own cellphone, waving it. "I scanned you, I guess, at the last big meeting, because I was able to see you with our nifty little GPS." She'd been scanning left and right like a maniac, so it wasn't strange that she'd gotten this girl caught up in it. "So who-" she started, but the girl was rubbing her temples like she'd a headache, and Scylla paused to scan the area politely.

She couldn't say no worries, in truth, but hearing that the girl had been training, all alone, in the middle of Deathtrap Park, she wasn't much inclined to say it anyway. "Never been drunk myself," she agreed, and stood from her crouch, holding out her hand to the other Scout. "Plan to, someday. not the hardcore kind of drunk, just the pleasantly tipsy kind. A friend told me once you have to do it once, just so you never forget yourself and do it again." She waited for the other senshi to take her hand, finally deciding to continue. "I don't think that you should train by yourself if your attack makes you dizzy, though. Especially not here." her tone was bland, deliberately so. "Don't you have a team?"

"Nice to meet you Scylla," she said taking the girls hand and getting to her feet, her dizziness fully subsided. "I think I shall stir clear of the alcohol. I do not have any real desire to be tipsy and one too many could become very bad. Not that I am actually old enough to drink anyway."

Maia stepped back looking down at her fuku and dusting of the snow. "Yes, I have a team," she answered Scylla's question, "but I often patrol alone. I am sue one or two them is near. As for training, I do not know a better place and I have to train."

She raised her head, her fuku now cleared of snow though still annoyingly damp, and gave Scylla a hard stare. "I do not wish a repeat performance of that little gloved hand in my chest. I have to be better." In her mind she added a he will pay, but did not voice this.
PostPosted: Sat Dec 11, 2010 10:56 pm

"I'm not arguing that you have to train," Scylla agreed. "Quite the contrary. But their is no wisdom in being alone in a place like this," she pointed around to the silent woods, the corpses of snowmen built and decimated by unnameable enemies (MAIA) "When your attack limits your capability to care for yourself." It rather was the pot calling the kettle black, Scylla reflected. Her own power did leave her a bit drained when she used it for too long; She had enjoyed the benefit of partnering with other senshi for a good long time, however, before she started on her own.

Maia dusted herself off, and Scylla smiled at her. "So tell me about this 'little gloved hand' you had in your chect." She said finally. "I find it safe to assume a member of the Negaverse is not your friend?" Nor mine, she wanted to add. She'd almost felt what it would be like, having a hand in her chest. Serandite had been seconds away. Some nights, Jada had nightmares of it, dreams which demonized the pink-haired girl and her bunny sidekick to unnatural proportions.

It was a small gesture that she offered Maia, nodding with her head to one of the small iron benches. It was covered in snow, but so was everything else around here. At least with the snow covering the back of Jada's thighs wouldn't' stick to the cold metal or something. Whoever had been in charge of giving her a skirt this short for her working clothes needed to be shot.

Lily looked around at the decimated snowman and nearly grinned. She had been in the wicked snowball battle, then had a battle in the same spot the next day and just moments before demolished a snowman. She knew it looked bad, but she'd actually given quite a helping hand to it. However, in realizing that she had to admit Scylla was right. "If you say so," she said, "but for now, unless you have a better place to train this is what I have. However next time I will endeavor to bring a teammate."

Her face took on a lighter expression for a moment happy to end the argument, but went hard at the thought of Wolframite's hand in her chest. At the jesture to sit Maia shook her head politely declining and remained standin. She sighed," His name is Wolframite. He dresses in black and green, boot much like mine albeit black, bows and a eye patch. We got into a fight and at first I had the upper hand because he is heavily affected by my attack, but then my attack made me dizzy and it went bad from there. I was lucky ... "

A snowball large about the size of Maia's head, whizzed past her face and she jumped back falling into the snow. She looked up to see the few remaining snowmen were alive and they were no Frosty's.

Her jaw dropped open and she just barely uttered, "Do you think maybe they are mad I kicked over a few of their friends.

"I'll see what I can find for you." Jada assured the other senshi. "I'd appreciate the teammate-finding too." She didn't want to stumble over a really cutely-dressed corpse next time she wandered into the park. "I know I'm not your mother, but I appreciate you listening to me offer my 'advice.'" It was one thing Jada could offer copiously. She was nosy, really, and stuck her nose in all sorts of places she probably wasn't wanted.

Listening to Maia talk about her experience with the Negaverse, however, made Scylla's face darken. Quite noticeably. "Wolframite, huh?" She might have had a run in with this one. "If he's the one I am thinking of, you were lucky. He has a youma serving him, a Knight with an attached lance instead of an arm. Wolframite wasn't directly going for my starseed though." Nope, at that point, she was pretty sure he was just going to kill her.

Actually, that left a question that she has never asked before. What happened to a Starseed when the person died before it was removed? How long did it take them to leave, after someone died? Could a senshi starseed be taken post-mortem and be used to power the enemy?

The sound of Maia thumping into the snow made her look up. Why had the girl decided to sit there? Jada had offered her a perfectly good seat next to herself, and she certainly didn't smell in this weath- a snowball took Scylla to the back of the head, and she felt her eyes cross. Son of a b- female dog. "Maybe." she offered the Senshi of Song. "See why this park sucks?"

Maia really did not mind the advice, she got it and gave it often. When she thought about it, if Europa knew what she was up to she be giving the same lecture.

Her comment of Wolframite recieved no reply, but they were also be stared down by youma snowmen poised to attack. Maia scrambled to her feet frowning slightly. She nodded at Scylla comment, but responded, "thats exactly why I am usually here."

She attempted to dodge a snowball, but recieved on right to her kidney and nearly feel over.

"Oww, darnit," she exclaimed clutching her side and looking to Scylla. She straighten herself up just in time to dodge yet another giant snowball.

She couldn't use her attack, but she knew it didn't make her useless. She headed for the nearest tree and was elated to find a thick branch fallen from the weight od the snow and grabbed it up.

"Please tell me you have an offense attack because in all honesty I am not to great at baseball," she said clutching the branch to swing at the next snowball that came her way.

Another snowball came hurtling at the girls, and the army of Frosties seemed to be growing. They weren't jolly, or happy, and they were unfortunately... not fairytales. Thump, thump, thump! Snowballs were flying at them, and Scylla hit the ground, mind whirling. This was ridiculous. (Unlike Maia, Jada was a cusser in Sailor form. Darnit was such a cute, ladylike word, compared to what was being yowled in the other senshi's head. This was not a cute, ladylike situation. This was a THE NEGAVERSE IS RUINING MY CHILDHOOD situation.) While on the ground, she watched the other senshi grab a branch, and start swinging. "Baseball?" Scylla finally asked, incredulous. "You're going to play baseball with them?" Them, them, how many snowmen were there out there?

Unlike Maia, Scylla did have an offensive attack; one that she was going to use very carefully. To be frank, she didn't know how giant tentacles were going to work on animated snow piles. To be more frank, she'd rather not die, with just a few days until the biggest gift-giving day of the year. "I have an offensive attack," Scylla told the other girl finally, crawling on elbows and knees over to the remains of a snow fort. "It may or may not be super effective." There was, in the end, only one way for the two of them to find out just how effective the Kraken was against a snowball.

The first snowball that came their way after Scylla focused was hit out of the field by a limb that exploded out of the snow. Well, not out of the field exactly, but it burst out of the snow and deflected one of the missiles- and took the head off of the snowman that threw it. Too bad that there were more, and the snowball it missed smashed into Scylla's temple as she peeked her head over the top of the forehead, making her eyes cross again.

At least some of her attack had looked impressive.

Lily frowned when she asked about baseball, but the thought was put out of her head as she was hit in the side with another snowball causing her to be knocked over. She groaned and picked herself up readying her stick to thwack the next in coming snowball.

Another snowball was sent flying toward her and she swung hard managing to hit the snowball with end of her stick and knocking the leg of random snowman number four. She grinned looking at Scylla momentarily to see the girls attack take the head off random snowman number two.

"Thats it," she shouted, "not baseball so much as target practice." She continued swinging her stick to fend off snowballs, but still managed to get hit and missed a couple. She barely saw Scylla get hit but shouted asking if she was okay while continue her swinging.

She frowned knowing she would be very bruised at the end of all this. It deepened as she worried about if the snowmen would stay down, the one she hit was still hopping and tossing snowballs.

"You know what I believe in, Sailor Maia?" Scylla couldn't help but scowl as she was ducking, trying to find some kind of cover, "Targets that can't hit back." She made her way over to Maia, already feeling herself bruising from the March of the Snowmen. The things were advancing on them steadily and not-too-slowly, and the senshi of the Kraken was more than slightly alarmed by the fact that the headless ones were still coming in their direction.

"Scylla's Hunger!" she snapped it almost defensively, and the ground under her and the other senshi rumbled, appendages rising on either side of the girls and smashing a hole in the wall of snow that was forming a circle around them. Really, were these youma going to bury them alive? Or would they be beaten to death by rock-hard snowballs first? Not a chance she'd go down like this.

The arms swung again, decapitating more snowmen, who each paused for a moment, then continued flinging projectiles. So, headlessness did nothing. That sucked (snow)balls. "How tired are you, exactly?" she asked the redhead wearily, hoping the other girl would say 'not very.'

Maia had to agree with Scylla that targets couldn't hit back were much preferred right along side targets that didnt move. Maia was a bit angry at the situation they were in. If she had not exhausted herself they would be knocking out targets that couldnt move or at least barely moved, but that wasnt the case and she could not help but to think this situation could have been more easily won if not avoided.

When asked if she was tired she faultered blinking at the other senshi only to be hit hard in the gut a by snowball and knocked clean off her feet. She groaned loudly tears forming in her eyes from the pain of the blow. She staggered to her feet and answered in truth barely ducking another snowball. "I think soon I will be running on adrenaline alone, but I can keep going for a while longer if that is what you are asking."

She made a grab for her stick a snowball flying past way to close to her head and jumping at the closest snowman to knock his legs from beneath him with a swing of her trusty stick.
