Carefully, a moss colored Ceryeni picked his way through the thick forest brush. It was a slow going process, with his antlers occasionally sticking in the low hanging branches of nearby trees and the many hidden holes that lay under hoof, waiting to catch the unwary passerby. Arden hurried on as fast as he could, hoping to reach his cave soon. It wasn't the ideal home, but it kept the rain and the wind out. He was also able to keep his many herbs dry. There was no where else that he wanted to be when a storm hit, and by the looks of the sky, one wasn't very far off.

Nokomis wasn't imagining things, the sky had turned ugly as she flew overhead a forest. The branches seemed to call to her, begging her to land safely, stubbornly she pressed on. The sky remained steadily silent, promisingly silent. 'Perhaps it will brush over, drops, but nothing more.' She thought, the thought was quickly disrupted by a flash of thunder and a strike of a bright bolt of lightning.
She was startled, but able to continue. This was not something unusual during flight. It was all about how one flew.

Arden had pressed onward as thick, fat, water drops began to fall from the ever darkening sky. The stallion quickly checked his surroundings. Not too far away he could hear the little stream that flowed past his cave. Good, he was almost home now. Perhaps he would spend the evening laying out these new herbs to dry. Unfortunately he hadn't collected as many as he had hoped. With the storm coming, he had headed for home as quickly as he could have.
Almost there, he could smell the familiar scent of his little clearing. It had taken him some time to find the perfect place and then clear it out, but it was well worth the work. From the forest he would enter a small clearing. There were a few berry bushes and a stream that ran through and then his cave on the far side. It stretched well back into a small mountain and he had plenty of shelter and protection from the elements. Arden was almost to the entrance when something caught his attention.
