A group of close friends who've known each other since elementary school. Nothing can break them up, right? Wrong.
They've left the carefree life of swings and slides, the turbulence and angst of being a teenager and now settling into their lives as a young adult. This group of six best friends are going to learn the hard way about the toils of adulthood that will test their friendships more than they could ever imagine.
Inspiration for this roleplay from the song "Just Tonight" by The Pretty Reckless - if you are interested.
kso this is the worst intro ever, but you'll get a better idea of the plot in the characters to be posted shortly. kthxbai~

I'm usually a really horrible person who puts her rules in paragraph form. Fortunately, I'm lazy most of the time when it comes to rules so I won't waste too much of your time. =)
I really don't enjoy anime. If you're in this guild, then you already know that it's kind of hated, just a touch. So please, spare my eyes the use of anime for your character.
No stealing, no being a complete tool and decided to brutally slaughter everyone else in the roleplay for no reason. No cursing every other word - you'll make yourself sound stupid, really. It does. *nods*. No sex, either. Time skip that stuff and keep it off Gaia.
Make your posts pretty. Follow my skeleton to the letter for your profiles. Actually, they're hardly profiles. I actually hate having to read through profiles. Srry. I'm lazy. I know, I know. *hangs head in shame*. Just follow the skeleton, 'kay? He's dancing out the door so you'd better run after him fast!
Have a specific posting color for your characters speech and thoughts. Don't copy someone else's color. I already wear glasses, so don't blind me with neon yellow or something like that. Please use font sizes 10 or 11. They just look so much better.
There's no paragraph size or any posting regulations like that. Just give us something to work with. I'm sure we'd all prefer two paragraphs of actual content to ten posts of absolute crud.
I totally don't care what you label the PM you send to me for your character that you want. Anything you want, once I open it, I'll know what it's for anyway. blaugh
Hmm, I think that covers it. I'll add more and bold it if I need to put anything else here!

The entire group has decided to go out for a little trip to the city just outside of where they live. They have currently decided to take a bit of a stop at the city's mall to do a bit of shopping.
Jack is wondering if there is any possible way that Skylar knows about what had happened with he and Bella. Adam is trying to spend some quality time with Bella even though she seems a bit distracted. Alice and Cailen are having a conversation about their relationship and decide to try to give it another shot. Cailen receives a phone call from the people who he owes money regarding the threat against Bella.

 Beneath the prognostics of a cloudy day an old red and white dodge ram was humming silently down the road towards the Galleria Mall. Inside, sat Bella Legosi; her hair wafted about from the open window, and a pair of glasses hiding her expression from view. A recluse by nature, It was not ususual for Bella to go for a week at a time without talking to anyone; however, Bella had been even less talkative than usual...
Other than brief phone calls or text messages, Bella had not spoken to anyone in nearly a month face-to-face. If it wasn't painfully obvious that she was being especially withdrawn, Bella knew that if she didn't agree to visiting her friends today, it certainly would be. A quick visit to the doctor two weeks ago had sealed her suspicion, and now Bella found herself nearly two months pregnant. Sleeping with anyone blindly was never something Bella would do, and as she had no boyfriend, if her close friends Alice and Skylar found out about her predicament they would ask questions Bella would be unable to answer. What was she supposed to say? ' I'm sorry skylar...me and your boyfriend slept together.' It wasn't like it was something planned, but she had since begun to confront the matter and discovered a startling conclusion.She had feelings for Jack. Strong feelings. Love even. She wouldn't have let herself sleep with Jack if she didn't, and though telling Jack she was expecting over a text message had not been the kindest thing to do, she knew it was best to avoid meeting the man in person after what had happened...Hearing his voice forced bits and pieces of their night together to flash in her mind, and it was starting to become painful to think about him. Which raised another serious question that Bella was still unable to find an answer too...' What am I going to do?'
For a moment, Bella's eyes glanced at a flyer resting on the middle front seat. With a beautiful photograph of a colorful Conneticut autumn printed on the cover, Regal Leaves Bed and Breakfast/Resort had captured Bella's attention almost instantaneously. There was a well-noted hospital nearby that specialized in home-births and the scenery was indeed a bonus for her line of work. Bella being a photographer to cover the bills. If she...got away...for a few months, Perhaps she would finish that novel she had neglected to work on since finding out about her pregnancy. It was still an iffy subject to dwell on, and as Bella parked her truck in a parking spot beneath an elm tree, she stuffed the flyer back into the glove box before locking her car and walking inside. No doubt a few of her friends were already at the mall, but as she lived in the outskirts of town, her house was the farthest distance from the Galleria and it was understandable that she be a bit late.
An uncomfortable grumbling curled her lip at meeting her friends. ' How am I going to talk to Jack again? To look at him in a 'normal' way now...' Bella figured she would avoid him if at all possible. He hadn't made the effort to talk to her about the matter at hand yet, and until he was ready to discuss it, she did not want to press the matter. Ariving at the nearest Orange Julius, Bells thought she saw a few of her friends already there drinking smoothies, so she smiled; waved, and walked over to the counter to order herself a smoothie as well.

Jack meandered through the mall with his hands in his jean pockets. He really wasn't interested in buying anything. His mind was focused on one thing. As he passed by all the shops, he barely gave them a look. He looked down at his button-up plaid shirt he wore over his white t-shirt, then wondered if that really went together. He dressed and undressed about fifteen times before he had gone out the door. He had been trying to keep up with his medication, but there were so many things on his mind that occasionally he forgot. He knew if his mother knew, she would be screaming in his ear and shoving pills down his throat. He shook his head quickly and ducked into the bathroom down a small corridor. He looked down at his hands, they just felt dirty. Once the hot water turned on, Jack shoved his hands inside with handfuls of soap. He had gotten a ritual down. hot water, soap, lather, rinse, repeat. The repetition usually went on for about an hour. Jack let out a sigh as he splashed some water over his face. He looked up into the mirror and stared into his chocolate eyes. 'Stop this, she doesn't know, okay? She doesn't know.'. He worried what Skylar knew and didn't know. He felt bad, horrible in fact, for sleeping with another girl.
Since then he'd been thinking about why he'd done it, and if he really had feelings for Skylar. At the beginning, he did. They were genuine feelings, he cared for her a lot. And he still does. But knowing that he'd slept with another girl makes him think. Jack had always been, or tried to be, the nicest guy. He wanted to make everyone happy. Maybe it was this knack for making people happy that drove him to dating Skylar.
He walked out of the bathroom with his phone in his hand. He flipped it open and scrolled through his messages. He looked for a particular one, one about Bella. His stomach dropped at the news, he didn't know how to take it. He had been looking at the message for about a week now, he hadn't had the nerve to delete it. Just those two words: "I'm Pregnant". He shut the phone and shoved it in his pocket. He was going to keep it a secret for as long as he can, and as long as Bella does. He knew he was the father, he knew it was her first time that night.
It wasn't a crime of lust, he knew that, although there were a lot of lust filled thoughts that night. But being a girl's first time wasn't just a "one night stand", it meant something. Jack had lost his own virginity at a rather young age, and he wished he hadn't. He remembered making sure Bella was alright, making sure she was happy. He wanted it to be perfect, but why did he want it to be perfect with her? Why hadn't he felt he wanted things so perfect with Skylar? He trudged along the mall for a little while longer, unsure where his friends were.

One pretty little blonde being an ex girlfriend of his. Or more really, friends with benefits. That type of relationship had ended years ago, but Adam and Lydia were still good friends who communicated over text messages once in a blue moon. Only talking with Lydia and her friends to pass the time, Adam thought he saw a certain scruffy out of the corner of his eye and turned his body to better survey the situation. A cheerful light crossing his face, Adam turned to his friends and said:
" My friends are here, It was nice talking to you." before winking and running the few yards distance seperating him and Jack. Grinning at his friend, Adam didn't even think twice before batting the man on the back and punching him on the arm. Purposefully teasing the man's obsessive compulsion by tugging on the sleeve of his shirt to wrinkle it. With one eye still on the look-out for Bella, Adam kept his attention politely upon Jack as he unconsciously trailed his feet to match his friend's trudging little walk.
" Hey man, hows it going?" Assuming his friend's melancholy aura was due to him trying to tease him, Adam chuckled and smiled at his friend in-between glancing into store windows. Grumbling at how late Bella often was, Adam's mouth nearly grimaced in his impatience. Adam wasn't the type to usually sleep with close friends, but besides that night he had shared with Alice while she and Cailen were going through a tough time, he couldn't help being attracted to Bella. Having known Bella long enough to know her character, that she never pursued anyone and showed absolutely no interest in him. It made her a challenge. His inner wolf ran wild at the idea of getting Bella to go out on a date with him. Just coffee or dinner, a normal date for once; Ha! Never thought I'd see the day. Bella was an emotional statue, and nothing he ever said; besides jokes, ever seemed to shake her. Usually, Bella hardly ever texted him, but lately she hadn't even answered his phone calls. Nay, not an e-mail! Something was bothering Bells, or she was sick of him, either way; Adam intended to find out what it was.
Unable to keep an image of his night with Alice from flashing into his mind, Adam contemplated the reasons why he couldn't forget his night with her. Alice had been incredibly hurt that night, from another argument no less, and he had been just the friend she needed to hold her for a while. Adam hadn't meant for one thing to lead to another, but seeing his best friend so...vulnerable and helpless, he couldn't resist himself from giving her that first kiss. However, unlike Bella, he shut the emotional baggage deep down in an untouchable vault and tried to keep sex and emotions in different catagories altogether. Thinking about Alice pained him for some reason, and Adam turned his attention back to brighter prospects. Bella for example.
Only then glancing Bella besides the counter of Orange Julius, A bright grin took over his face and his entire body surged with excitement. ' Bells!' Never having made it a secret to Jack that he had taken a fancy to the 'stone-walled' brunette, Adam half folded his arm around Jack's back in the effort to force his incredibly -slow- friend to walk as fast as his own feet could fly across the whitewashed tile. Not even thinking about the consequences of shoving him, Jack, and Bella together; Adam put his hands in front of his mouth and yelled:
"HEY, BELLA!!!" from across the hallway before leaving his -slow- friend to walk his depressing pace and running down the hall in her direction.

Bella, lost in her thoughts, had just been starting to perk up emotionally at the thought of enjoying her orange and banana smoothie when a very framiliar voice shouted at her across the mall. Widening her eyes at hearing Adam Bella could not contain a small grimace from wiping away all remnants of a cheerful mood from her countenance. Gripping the styrofoam cup a little tighter, Bella hesitated turning around and giving away her disatisfaction; complete agony, at knowing Adam would be right at her toes any moment. He sometimes clung to her side like wall-paper, and being clung too was never a joy to contemplate. At least for Bella. ' How could this day get any worse?!' Putting on a mask of cheerful appreciation to hide her distaste from Adam, Bella turned around towards the sound of pounding feet, looked up from her cup, and lost all the color in her face.
'Jack!'
The widening of her eyes was inevitable, having not seen the man since...since that night. Quite akin to a deer in headlights, Bella had to tear her eyes away from the man and looked at her drink only to keep her eyes from looking back at him. Seeing Jack again rekindled all her earlier agony to such proportions that it felt like a dagger had been jammed into her chest. '...Oh...no....' Groaning inwardly, Bella took a very long sip of her orange and banana smoothy to have a legitimate reason not to speak. Her voice would no doubt be shaken and awkward, and Bella did not want to give away her panic...ahem, unease, by talking before she had gathered her composure.
Knowing it best to not snub Jack, as much as she secretly wanted to do, Bella smiled lightly with genuine warmth and waved a 'hello' before going back to pressing her mouth on the straw of her smoothie. Drinking from the straw once more in a manner very alike to a hamster sucking on it's water spigot. There was no sound induced by the action, but now; having greeted the man, Bella was unable to keep her eyes from pinning back on Jack. Only half glancing and waving at Adam, who Bella could care less about, she waited only a moment longer before glancing at the nearest store window to try and find a target to distract her eyes from absorbing Jack.

After purchasing a large soft pretzel soaked in some sort of semi-sweet glaze, Alice looked over her shoulder to see that Cailen was talking on his cell phone. He looked a bit dismayed but she didn't want to bother him while he was in the middle of a conversation. This wasn't something that surprised her to see; he often received phone calls that would put him in a terrible mood afterwards. At this point, Alice decided to just remain indifferent to the situation. All it ever did was cause arguments between the two of them. - As soon as Cailen had hung up from the conversation he had been having with whoever had called him, Alice noticed her boyfriend's expression fall quite quickly. After asking him numerous time what was wrong, he finally gave in and told her. Gambling debts. People wanted their money."Why don't you just stop gambling? Save your money and pay these people off?" Alice had suggested but Cailen had assured her there was nothing wrong.
Out of concern for her boyfriend's well being, Alice did not want to drop the issue. She was genuinely worried that he was developing a problem long before their conversation had taken place but now her suspicions were confirmed. This only caused the first of many arguments the two would have about the subject.
- Alice quickly pushed the memory out of her head. When it came to her relationship she knew it was best to just let him sort these things out for himself. It did not seem like things had gotten that bad yet, anyway. She turned her attention towards a few people standing together and noticed that they were the friends they were planning on meeting up with that day. Lately, everyone had seemed to be a little distant, so Alice was very glad they could all get together again like they used to do.
Walking over to the group, her heart skipped a beat when she saw him standing there: Adam. She took a deep breath in and tried not to think about what had happened the night she turned to him after a bad argument between she and Cailen. She really did not intend for what had happened to happen and she was sure that Adam had not intended on it either. It was a mistake. That's it. I'm not going to talk about it and neither is he. Cailen does not need to know. It meant absolutely nothing.While the last part was absolutely true - the night she spent with Adam was nothing more than a one-night stand - she really was unsure of how anyone would react if they found out. Adam wasn't exactly known for his exclusivity when it came to women, and Alice always had an "innocence" about her. She did not want people to think of her differently, and she absolutely did not want it to cause yet another argument with Cailen.
Pushing everything down inside, she smiled and greeted her friends. She bit her lip, always a nervous habit of hers when she realized that she wasn't entirely sure what else to say. The slight stretching of the skin on her face made her notice a tiny lump under her chin just off to the side. Odd... she pondered as her fingertips reached up to feel if there was anything actually there or not - and there was. Her left lymph node was slightly swollen. Oh, don't tell me that I'm getting an infection! she sighed.

He didn’t get why relationships had to be so complicated. Sure he wasn’t always the perfect boyfriend. She was pretty mad at him when he gambled away all the money he had for her last birthday present, but he didn’t mean it. He wanted to win more money so he could get her a better present, like maybe diamonds, but instead he lost it all. He wanted to be with her, but it was hard when they were always arguing. He couldn’t even remember what this last argument was about. He was going to say more, but when he looked over and saw her rubbing her temples he decided it be best to wait. She’ll come around eventually.
They continued to walk in silence and she even managed to give him a smile. He could hear the excitement in Alice’s voice as she asked to go get pretzels. He laughed at her happiness over such a simple thing. It was things like that that Cailen admired about Alice. “Whatever makes you happy” he said to her as she skipped over to the pretzel stand. He started to head out after her when his phone rang. “Hello?” he answered. “Where’s my money, man?” a gruff voice answered back. Cailen knew that voice, it was one he’d probably never forget.
It belonged to a man that he’d met at a casino about a week ago. Cailen was there, trying to hit it big time with the extra money he had from his last paycheck. Unfortunately he was unlucky again and had just lost all that money. He was about to leave when he noticed a man walking into the casino with a whole bunch of cash. Cailen watched as the man simply sat down at the nickel slots and started feeding the coins into the machine. Cailen sat down next to the man and introduced himself. “’Sup? The names Tony” he responded. “You must be new to the casino, I’ve never seen you before” Cailen started in with small talk. Eventually he found out that Tony had just gotten a divorce from his wife and got a good sum of cash from it. He was pretty bummed out about it and was there to relieve the stress. An emotional gambler. Cailen had seen them before, heck he was one himself sometimes. “I know a way you can at least triple what you got there” Cailen offered to the man. The man was hesitant at first, but then he gave in. “It’s called card counting” Cailen explained to Tony. Cailen had seen it in a movie before and wanted to try it out for himself. He practiced with his friends and every time it worked. Unfortunately Cailen never bothered to finish the movie and missed the end when they got caught.
Tony agreed handing over some money so Cailen could get in on the game as well. They headed over to the blackjack table and begun. Things were going great at first. Tony kept winning and the money kept coming in. The man was ready to quit when he had doubled what he came with, but Cailen wanted to keep going. They had a deal that Cailen would get a good percentage of the profit and he wanted the most he could get. That’s when things started to go downhill. A man in a suit came up to the table and asked to speak with Tony in private. The two went out of site and Cailen left the table. About a half hour later Cailen was waiting outside for Bella to come pick him up since he didn’t have his car. A large hand grabbed him from behind and shoved him against the wall. “YOU LOST ME ALL MY MONEY AND GOT ME BANNED FROM THE CASINO!” Tony yelled at Cailen. Cailen looked over to Tony’s bright red face and then up at the man holding him. He was twice the size of him and a lot meaner looking than Tony. “You better pay Tony here all the money you owe him, or else I’ll find you and I’ll destroy you” the man named Bruce said to him. Cailen nodded nervously, scared for his life. Then he heard a familiar voice call his name. It was Bella. In the most normal voice he could manage he called back to her “I’ll be right there Bella!” and looked up at the two guys. “You better pay me back, or we will find you” Tony said as Bruce let him go.
Cailen covered the mouth piece and called over to Alice. “You go ahead. I’ll be there in a minute!” Walking to a corner Cailen spoke into the phone. “How did you get this number?” he asked looking around nervously. “I have my ways. Do you have my money yet?” Tony asked. “Um no, not yet, but I’m working on it” Cailen responded his voice shaking. “You better, or else you’ll never see your precious sister Bella again” Tony answered. Before Cailen could respond, the other line went dead. Did he have Bella or was it an empty threat? Why did Bella have to be there? Why did Cailen have to tell this man that he was a twin? Cailen began to nervously sweat thinking of how he managed to get his sister in danger. He wanted to make sure she was alright. He opened his phone and sent her a message “Call me as soon as you get this”. He shut his phone and took a moment to gather himself together before heading back over to where Alice was. OOC:: Your post is perfect! It fits well with this one I think, sorry it's so long, I thought I should include the background story. Sorry it took so long, had to wait sign up for communtiy service after class today and the line was like a mile long.

Skylar had arrived at the mall awhile ago. She liked having a few minutes to herself to just be alone with her thoughts before she met up with the others. Nothing really seemed to catch her eye as she looked through the shops. Of course it wasn’t like that meant anything. She wasn’t really paying attention to the shops. She was more concerned with the people she was meeting up with. Of course she loved her friends. They were practically like family to her.
Sometimes Skylar felt a little out of place in the group. She was the newest member after all. Everyone else has been together years before she came along. She couldn’t help but wonder what it would be like if she weren’t in the picture anymore. The group probably would remain unchanged and just go back to the way they were before she came along. She knew she shouldn’t think about such things but Sky couldn’t help it at times. It was just something that popped in there every so often. She knew it had to deal with her own little insecurities that she would take care of on her own. There was no way that she would bring this up to any of her friends.
Her mindless wandering had led her to come across the very people she was at the mall to meet. She saw Bella, Adam, and Jack just a ways up. Jack had probably been the nicest to her when she first joined up with the group. It wasn’t long before she fell for him. It seemed like he returned her feelings and they had been together ever since. She really liked him. ”Hey guys.” She called over to them and then made her way over to where they stood.

Jack grimaced as Adam tugged on his clothes and patted him down. "Hey, Adam." It made him uncontrollably fix himself as he was dragged through the crowd to meet up with Bella. '..Bella..' His eyes caught hers, he saw her eyes light up in shock and he looked away. He felt like he was being blamed for some evil deed. He had already felt like a b*****d after sleeping with her, but getting her pregnant is the s**t cherry on top of the already s**t covered cake. His hands had shoved themselves back in his pockets self consciously. What else could go wrong in his life? It all began with OCD, and suddenly life decided to ******** him over even more. He didn't feel like himself. Jack looked up suddenly to see Alice join the group followed by Cailen (eventually). Everyone seemed to have something on their minds, something hidden behind their smiles.
Suddenly Skylar came into the group and he felt his lips curl into a smile. He couldn't help it, she was his girlfriend. Usually that happens when guys see those. He slipped over by her side and slung his arm around her hip. He had to keep cool and make sure everything was alright. He leaned forward to kiss her cheek. Jack had always been a slightly shorter guy, but it seemed simple for him to kiss her. "Hey Sky.."

Alice watched as the group continued to converse and was shortly thereafter joined by Skylar. Almost as soon as Skylar had joined the group of friends, Alice had decided to get close with the girl. She was incredibly happy to see her and Jack together. Alice figured that they made such a cute couple and it was clear that Jack definitely made Skylar quite happy. Something seemed a bit different today. It seemed almost like Jack wasn't quite his usual self when it came to his girlfriend. Shaking her head, Alice decided not to think anymore of it. She very often read too much into situations and she was very often wrong as well.
When Cailen came to join the group after his phone conversation, there was a slight hint of concern on his face; probably something only she would have been able to pick up on since she had spent so much time with him. A part of her wanted to pull him aside and ask him what was going on, to see if perhaps there was anything she could do to make things better. However, as soon as the thought formed in her mind, the other part of Alice screamed, Just leave it alone. Don't cause another argument!She let out a deep sigh. As much as she wanted to find out what was wrong with her boyfriend, she could not allow herself to mess up what the two of them had just put back together. Many, many times Alice had contemplated just leaving the relationship for good. It was growing apparent that Cailen really did have a problem with gambling; and what was worse was that he seemed to take no care to acknowledge the problem or try to fix it.
At first, Alice had been annoyed at all of the money that Cailen was wasting when he wasn't really winning anything. Soon, her annoyance changed into genuine concern, then back to frustration when the situation came up over and over again.
Breaking herself from her thoughts, Alice turned her attention back to her friends. Once again Adam was very obviously showing his interest in Bella. Alice tried to swallow the saliva in her mouth down her throat, however there seemed to be a bit of a lump forming that made this difficult. Come on, Adam. The girl's a virgin.Rather impulsively, Alice stepped forward and tugged on Adam's sleeve, motioning for him to follow her just far away enough that they could have some privacy from the rest of the group for a few moments.She wanted to talk to him about what she feared was going to happen to Bella if Adam tried to make a move. Of course, his attraction to Bella was not anything new; and Alice's concern was stemming more from her own guilt about her relationship than for Bella's well-being. "Let's go get something to eat," Alice was clearly lying, as she had just eaten the pretzel shortly before.

Yes, Adam knew how to have a good time once in a while, but Bella was not that kind of girl. Going into that store with her would permenantly kill whatever glimer of a shot he had at winning Bella, so he glanced at the store beside it. It was a 'fredericks of Hollywood', a fancy lingerè store. Adam cringed again and looked four stores down from that one just to avoid the possibility of seeing another dangerous store. Macy's Department Store was looking like a real slice of heaven at that point, and Adam decided to take that shot before they all decided to do something as a group and his window of oppotunity would be over.
" Hey Bells, My cousin is having a birthday party soon, and I don't have the slightest clue what to get her. Since she likes a lot of the things you have, I was hoping you could help me pick out something at Macy's?" It was only then that Adam felt a tug on his sleeve, and he turned to glance at whom it was. Seeing Alice there, with an odd expression of 'we need to talk' subtly showing on her face, Adam's eyes widened and for a second he entered serious reflection. ' She wants to talk about that night...s**t! Not now!' Answering Alice by softly, but perhaps rudely, fixing his ruffled shirt and shaking his head in a 'not now' mannerism, Adam turned his attention back to the target of his attention and eagerly awaited her answer as if it was his dying breath.
Feeling guilty already for his treatment of Alice, which he vowed to contemplate when he was alone and able to ponder it; it forced the subject at hand -Bella- to pop into his mind as the brief consideration of hurting Alice's feelings forced him to mull over the thought. ' Bella is a good girl, and I'm not trying to get into her pants...If I'm not feeling just lust for Bella...what am I feeling for Alice?' his mind saying: Don't go there, Adam shook his head and pretended Alice and their 'someday' unavoidable conversation was a world away as he watched Bella's face pale over once again. Something was on Bella's mind, and the sight of her unease irked him. ' She looks like she's in pain...' The second they were alone, if she accepted his offer to be alone, he was going to ask her. He doubted recieving an actual reply, but Bella was incapable of showing some sign of human emotion at any question. If he could, he would weasel it out of her or at least have something to chew on until the truth finally did come out.
