I have no link to an article this time. I get all of my gaming news through the "Video Games" App on facebook. So I usually look it up on google and find the exact same article. No luck this time.
Well anyways...---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft's brand new internal Halo Studio 343 Industries is working on a Halo: Combat Evolved remake. This is according to the latest issue of Games Master magazine which reports that the remake could run on the Halo Reach engine and arrive ahead of a full Halo 3 sequel in 2012. If these details turn out to be legit a perfect release date would be next year on the original games 10th anniversary. As well as this when UK Xbox boss Stephen McGill was asked about a remake he seemed very much behind the idea saying; "I imagine it's a good idea". "I think some people want to go back to older games and see them revisited and I think a lot of developers want to see that too," So who is in favour of this happening and who feels they should just leave the game alone? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Being a huge Halo fan I would say I am in favor of this idea. That is, as long as they do not mess up the story, campaign or anything about the game. Upgraded graphics would not bother me.
Also, I would not mind paying $60 for a Halo: CE remake. Again...being a huge Halo fan I would be happy to be able to re-play this original on my Xbox 360. Brand new achievements and I could play an Xbox classic with my friends.
That is my opinion. Would others be willing to pay $60 for an old game?
Is this a good idea on Microsoft's part? It could either pull in more money or leave them with nothing.
Could this turn Bungie's epic classic into an annual game? Oh god please No.

To be honest, the missions in Halo:CE were more fun then Halo 2's missions. I would be great to c that game look awesome. I hope they don't change it to much. :/ Well a $60 4 a remake seems ok, but make it 50$ n ill buy it XD. I would love to c more blood in the remake since there was like none in Halo Reach. I guess we can all play Reach or Black Ops until it comes out. Let's all pray Bungie does good, no great, no awesome on this remake. XP

I have a project to do it. :/ Oh yea that makes perfect sense now I think about it, but u know, they can still mess up(The new Company).

Oh yeah. If they take the old games and completley screw up the campaign and destroy the story then there is really no other choice than to hate them. All they need to mess with are graphics and achievements. Leave everything else alone.

Well first off...I did say the company. New developer is 343 Industries. They worked on the other Halo games with Bungie (hence the 343 Guilty spark reference). And Bungie didn't screw up.
They signed a 10 year contract with Activision and are now working on a new series that will be on the 360 and Ps3.
Only thing is people have always associated Halo with Bungie. So I'm a bit worried about what Halo will turn out to be without Bungie at the Helm.

As Shindo said a lot of people would be pissed and that would not turn out well. Also since 343 worked on the other Halo games and there's people from Microsoft there who worked on the Halo games...I doubt they would want to screw it up either since they helped create the epicness that is Halo.

Only thing is I haven't heard of "Game Master" magazine until now so I'm not sure how reliable this source is. I know 343 is working on a new Halo game but I wouldn't trust that it's a Combat Evolved remake or a Halo 4 until they say so themselves. EDIT: And yet on the other hand Bungie released a statement a few months ago saying that the Halo 3 legendary ending was a cliffhanger and they would be the biggest jerks in the world to leave fans with a cliffhanger like that. So perhaps they left 343 Industries with that job? Makes sense to me.

Yea it's like bungie saying "Here, we gave u the stage, but if u screw it up, ur screwed." We all want to know wat happens to master chief n his new emenies, n wat the heck is on the next ring! n, well u get the point.

i halo 1 remake tha sounds intresting i hope its just a graphic update (not that i care about graphics but it helps make a good game) i just hope 343 studios dosnt ******** up halo but i dont think they will many of the peole who work there where former bungie emplyes

I'd assume a remake would include integrated XBox Live, updated graphics, and possibly forge and theater.
But I don't think I'd pay full price to buy the same game again. Maybe 40 or 50, but not 60. I can't really tell you what would convince me to get it for 60.
