Going into Monday nights game between the 3-7 49ers and the 3-7 Cardinals, many people felt this was a lack luster game which is a let down to what a good Monday Night game should be, like oh I don't know... 9-2 Jets vs. 9-2 Patriots?

Well Monday night still had it's fair share of action. The 49ers get their biggest victory of the year trampling Arizona under foot 27-6, leading the way for the 49ers was Brian Westbrook. the 49ers had 261 total rushing yards, Westbrook accounted for 136 of them.

That is in part because the 49ers main offensive weapon, Frank Gore, suffered a hip injury in the first quarter, after gaining 52 yards rushing on the first drive alone. After the game it was announced that Frank Gore will be out for the rest of the season due to the broken hip. Meaning that if the 49ers intend to make a run for the NFC West division title, they'll have to do it with Westbrook and rookie Anthony Dixon carrying the load for their team.

On the other side of the ball the Arizona Cardinals stunk up the stadium not being able to do anything productive on offense, and allowing the 49ers to run all over their defense. At one point in the 4th quarter a camera man caught Derek Anderson and an offensive lineman for the Cardinals on the side lines smiling and potentially laughing while being down by 18 points. Many Cardinal fans were enraged by this, when reporters tried to ask Derek, (Respectfully) to put that conversation into context to try and clear his name and ease the rage of angry Cardinals fans, he literally blew up. Cursing up a storm defending how serious he is about his job as an NFL QB before storming away from his post game interview.

Though Arizona lost and most people have ruled them out of the playoff hunt, mathematically they are still alive in the NFC West race. The 49ers improve to an unimpressive 4-7, but are only one game behind the division leading Rams and Seahawks.

Thoughts, comments?

LoL, I know what you mean. I am sad to hear that Gore will miss the rest of the season, but glad we have Brian Westbrook there to take over as RB. I would be worried if it was all put on the shoulders of Anthony Dixon.
