We have a low member count, and even lower member activity. I heavily screen my member requests because over the years of practically living in Gaia guilds I realize that most people who request to join don't really care to join it, and I don't want people who don't care about our community, in it. I don't understand why they ask to join and then never post in the guild, because I've never done that. If I join a guild, it's because I want to join in the conversation. I also don't want to send out random requests because there are people who just accept it without really caring about the guild, too. I don't want 75 members if only 12 of them are going to post, ya know?
But... maybe that's a fault I have. Maybe if I accept everyone who wants to join (even if they don't respond to my PM) and send out random requests, allowing them to waive the request form, we'd have a bigger community.

well, I don't know. It's not like having the form has gotten us a lot of ppl who participate evil
Maybe accept them but warn everyone if they never post anything they will be dumped....

I think it's a good idea to get more people to join in any way possible because what you can do is every month (or so) go through the members and see who is active or not. Obviously, someone like me.. I want to do stuff but can't but I think I at least get in touch with you guys once a month or so. So, I think that's good. Also, sending a PM to them and reminding them they're in the guild is a good idea.
but I do like the idea of having a small group of active people. Makes it nice.

Obviously, someone like me.. I want to do stuff but can't but I think I at least get in touch with you guys once a month or so. So, I think that's good. Also, sending a PM to them and reminding them they're in the guild is a good idea. but I do like the idea of having a small group of active people. Makes it nice. I agree. And anyone who hasn't been active at all for a month should be contacted and reminded that this is a participation guild... and if they don't want to participate, they should quit. And by participate, I mean at least post occasionally in the forum. I realize people can't always make it to an event, but we have people that we never hear from at all. evil

hehe, well, that wasn't specifically aimed at you, actually I thought you had quit... Glad to see you are still with us, and I hope you'll participate in some of the holiday stuff. smile

As I mentioned to Diff, I've come into some seasonal work (Retail. Yum.), so I'm finding myself remarkably busy in all regards, at the moment. Combining that with trying to find time to see my daughter, the new fiasco that's arisen with zOMG! (and my obligations to support the game), and simply finding time to breathe, my schedule is unduely strapped this holiday season. gonk
Again, though, I'll certainly try to find some time to spend with you guys. I feel dreadful for abandoning you so, but sometimes everything else just doesn't want to cooperate... stressed
