Ryuken, sometimes called Ryu for short. A Lucario; in many ways just another Pokemon. But in the wide expanse of our world, the exceptional rarely stand out. He...was exceptional. The greatest among an elite trainer's Pokemon. His trainer? Topher Skelver of the PWF Elite 4.
He often went off on his own, for exercise, for meditation. It was his alone time, he was solitary, he needed it. Restless, rash, independent. In many ways, his trainer's opposite. Yet they share a strong bond.

The Team Nightwalker uprising, a horrible event. Ryuken hated all that came from it. All except one thing, it was an excuse to fight. Something he loved, something he felt he was born for. He thought himself a protector, always fighting for others.

He was running, fast. No, beyond fast, He was using Extremespeed. He had heard a scream. Not a human scream, a Pokemon's cry. The island was slowly dying, the Nightwalkers were destroying everything. His walks had become something more like a patrol. This was a perfect example. As he dashed up to where this heart wrenching sound had come from he saw Nightwalkers. They were grunts, the lowest of the low. Brainwashed people from the village. He had learned by this point that there were two things that snapped them out of this. Severe physical pain, and severe emotional pain. He was great at reading auras and understanding emotions, not so much at manipulating them. So his method for snapping them out of it. Severe pain. Toph probably wouldn't approve, but oh well. He quickly realized what was going on. It was a Ninetails, and her babies. They were attempting a very forceful capture of them.

His mind went back to Stardust, Rishiki's Ninetails. She was his best friend, well...his best non human friend. Sometimes he saw her a little differently, maybe as a potential mate, but he'd never shown it. Out of all the Pokemon on the island, he spent more time with her. She understood him, and he understood her. This Ninetails reminded him so much of her. He felt a rage, maybe even a hatred...building inside him. Yelling out he slammed his legs into the ground with a massive force. The surrounding rock walls along the Highlands seemed as though they would crumble to the ground. An Earthquake attack, not directed toward the Nightwalkers or their Pokemon. Just a threat. They turned to look at the Lucario. He stared right into the eyes of one of the men in front of him.

"Back away from the Ninetails and her kits or you WILL regret it!" The man laughed a little. "One Pokemon thinks he can stop four armed men and eight other Pokemon?" Ryuken chuckled slightly. "No, I'm gonna do more than just stop you." Hurting people, unfortunately...is one of those things that becomes easier the more you do it. Right now, it wouldn't be hard at all. The man pulled up a handgun, bad move...he would pay for it. He fired a shot, intended to pierce Ryuken's skull. The Lucario spun out of the way and caught the bullet in his hand. A simple feat for him. He continued his twist and released the bullet, sending it right into the man's foot. Effectively redirecting the projectile's flight path with his bare hand. It burned a bit, but the pain was definitely minor compared to that his target was feeling. The fully grown man cried out as tears formed in his eyes. But it was only for a second. The roundhouse kick that collided with the side of his skull shut him up pretty quickly. With that another man charged forward, a blade at the ready. Ryu quickly threw his forepaw up, blocking the blade with a spike. He swiftly kicked the man in the groin. Screaming out, the man collapsed to the ground. He wouldn't be back up any time soon. The Lucario almost felt bad for hitting him there, but the fact that the man drew a weapon on him...made him feel a bit better.

One of the other men called out "Kill him!" Well, now it was time to try, he had 10 enemies after him at once. He made quick work of the two approaching men, human's were easy to take down. Performing a backhand lariat on one, he hoped the gash his spike left on his arm wasn't TO bad. The guy was smart to TRY and block it. The other one, he kicked squarely in the face. A few teeth and some blood had let him know that the man was in much pain...not that the screams were bad indicators. They would be thankful for this later. At least it would possibly help them break free from the Nightwalker's control.

As for the Pokemon, they might be a tougher fight. Pokemon usually were more dangerous in a fight. And that most definitely was the word for this. This wasn't a battle, it was a fight, plane and simple. The Pokemon charged him, he didn't budge. He quickly sent a few of the weaker ones off in different direction, after a hard kick, punch, or throw. Mightyena, Fearow, Gliscor, among others. All poorly trained; all uncontious. But there left standing, an Ursaring, a Banette, and Zangoose. They all three stood alone, waiting to see if the others would charge, would they rush him together? He doubted it, they looked like true warriors, they would want a fair fight.

The Banette was first, it faded to nothingness; or so it seemed. Ryuken followed it's aura, THERE. A Dark Pulse later and it was out. "Peh, Pathetic!" The Ursaring cried out as it charged him, he leaps into the air. The fighting type delivers a roundhouse, and a massive paw comes up to catch it. "Oh.." Ryuken didn't finish his line, he slammed hard into the wall of rock. As he slowly stood up, he was catching his breath. The Ursaring's slam attack, it had knocked his breath away. The powerful bear Pokemon cried out as threw it's head back. It's muscles seemed to expand, Bulk Up. Now the massive beast was charging him. Ryuken sprang up, leaping off of it's head. He launched himself high into the air, charging an Aura Sphere as he somersaulted. Finally he launched it as he righted himself. He landed, sliding backward on his feet. The Ursaring threw up it's arms. Not enough, the blast sent it unconscious against the rock wall.

The Aura Pokemon barely had time to react. He didn't notice it coming until a millisecond before contact. The Sword Dance enhanced claws of the Zangoose. He kicked it firmly in the gut as he ducked under it's claws. It staggered back a bit...but that was is. It seemed relatively unscathed. The aura from this one...was different, it was evil. It was possessed, by a spirit of some sort. It would fight much harder. Ryuken struck a fighting pose, yelling out as he lifted his foot into the air. A blue aura surrounded him, eventually bringing a blue flame to engulf his raised hind paw. He disappeared in a blinding fury of Blaze Kicks. Blue flames danced through the air. Met by glowing claws. Those looking on could not see much of anything. Eventually, a Crush Claw attack slammed into the Lucario's side. He slid and tumbled along the ground as the Zangoose gave chase. In a split second of total paw contact on the ground, Ryuken sprang up. Dashing along the side of the rocky ledge. It was nothing to move along a wall, his aura could hold him to it. What he didn't expect was the Zangoose to follow him. It chased him right along the rocks. "How the...!? He turned to see the Zangoose's eyes glowing with evil. The Lucario sprang out into the open air, twisting his body as he flew away from the ledge. The Zangoose gave chase, leaping out after him. He caught the normal type by it's paw and spun with it's momentum. After a moment, he managed to plant his feet against it. That was all he need, the two slammed hard into the ground. Ryuken was standing atop his enemy. The Zangoose squalled in pain, sliding across the rocky terrain. It was silenced when it slammed headlong into a large bolder, sending Ryuken flipping over it to land safely on his feet. Unfortunately for the Lucario, a rock flew up and split his lip as his feet slammed into the ground..

He scanned the auras quickly. "Wait, no!" He yelled out. One of the men he fought earlier, he was conscious, and he had gotten the gun. The man was aiming at the Ninetails. Ryuken quickly fired a Psychic blast, the Nightwalker's aim went off course, and the man went limp. Using his Extreme Speed he dashes over to the cave entrance where the family of Vulpix were. "Is everything okay?" The little ones cowarded in fear. Then Ryu realized how rough he probably looked. Blood all over his body, though it wasn't his. "Don't worry, they're not dead, they'll all be fine eventually. But you won't be if you don't get out of here. They could send more!" The Ninetails rushed up to him, speaking in a way that only other Pokemon understood.. "Oh thank Arceus you came, I don't know what I would have done without you! My mate, he's...dead." Ryuken reaches over to place his paw on her, but he decides against it when he notices the blood. "I'm...sorry to hear that." He paused for a moment. 'You remind me of someone special, a friend. I'm worried about her. I couldn't let anything happen to you...Now get out of here while you can." With that, Ryuken turned his head to spit some blood, and walked away.

Many questions plagued his mind. What was to happen to Rishi, and what about her Pokemon? What about Stardust? He loved a battle, more than most anything else. But this...it was fighting, violence, bloodshed. He didn't want this. He just wanted things back to normal, so he could enjoy the company of his friends. For once in his life, he wanted no more fighting, no more loneliness, he wanted to relax. But as he looked around. All he saw was tears, blood, death. He would fight to end this, or die trying.
