They say chaos has a weird way of uniting people. In Destiny City, this was definitely true.
And on this cold, snow-covered night, doubly so. No one was sure how the Negaverse had managed to cook this thing up... maybe it was part of the rumors that their behavior had changed slightly, and how they hadn't been seen tearing star seeds out of people's chests nearly as often as they used to. Maybe they'd discovered, and moved on to, a more efficient way of doing their dirty work. That would explain why the number of senshi chasing this particular youma had gone from two, to ten, to over a dozen in the course of the evening, anyway. This thing just refused to die.
It had gone into hiding again, or tried to. There were massive, strangely humanoid footsteps in the snow that trailed off to where it was going to, and soon enough the veritable platoon of senshi following it had caught up. Unfortunate for the monster... it looked on the end of its rope. If everyone timed it right and combined all their attacks, that would probably be enough to finish it off.

Themis had been a late call in into this whole business - after all, when you called the senshi with the broken arm, you just plain were running out of options.
That youma was overkill, seriously. He was pretty sure he'd spotted Castor by his asswings in this whole madness, so that meant one eternal, as well as heaven knew how many super and normal senshi hitting the crap out of that thing.
It just. did not. ******** die.
And Themis was running out of ammunition - his full attack, he'd realized, was still rather painful to pull off, so he'd relegated to turning everything that wasn't bolted down into a weapon - but now, he hurled his last trash can lid at the youma, and waited to see what else would happen.

It was a bad night when it took twelve senshi to try and defeat one youma. Sure, it was a particularly nasty creature, and it was hard as hell to chase down. But, still... did they need twelve of them? Were they so incompetent that they could not handle one youma on their own? Apparently they were. Super Sailor Nemesis did not recognize most of the senshi that had joined in on the chase. In fact, the only one she flat-out knew was her captain, Pegasus.
It wasn't often she patrolled with the eternal senshi, mostly because either she irritated that ******** out of Pegasus, or Pegasus irritated the ******** out of her. Somehow, in the end, they were friends. That did not mean one grated on the nerves of the other, though. It had been an uneventful night of patrolling, at least up until this point. Nemesis had begun to get restless, and when she was restless, she was also irritated.
Chasing youma around was just the way to brighten her mood.
It was in her sight's now, and who ever said that Nemesis wasn't the most likely to jump the gun? If someone had claimed it, they would have been dead wrong. "Decay of Breath!" she yelled, the ground decaying a little at her feet. Her attack would always hit true, and maybe it would slow the creature up enough for all the other senshi to land their attacks.

Europa was out of luck and out of breath. She'd been one of the first senshi to encounter the yeti-youma, and over the course of the strangely prolonged battle had just about managed to exhaust her attack. It was a good thing there were so many other senshi on patrol tonight (and so easily reached, too! Thank Serenity for the phones!) or else she'd have up and collapsed a long time ago.
The cold air set her senses electric and she could feel in her sinuses, if that made any sense at all, that she only had one shot left. Maybe, if she was lucky. But the senshi were running in a pack tonight, and strength in numbers was always the best. "If we all hit it at once," Europa grunted to the scout beside her, "Maybe it'll go down."
And, finally, it looked like they had a shot - the youma had tried to hide and instead managed to back itself into a corner. For such a persistent monster, it certainly wasn't all that intelligent.
Everyone else seemed to have already had the idea to attack. Europa couldn't risk making it dark with so many senshi massed against a single monster, especially when it might escape again. Besides, she was only feeling strong enough for her weaker attack. Flinging a gloved hand forward, the senshi cried out, "Europa deep ocean pressure!"

Clumps of snow were tossed upwards by the force of Merope's boots as he ran after the youma. This night was not going too well for him. An encounter with the yeti earlier involved a punch that resulted in both him and the youma getting soaked with salt water, except the youma didn't seem to be affected by the attack at all. Instead, it... well, kept on chugging. Even after more senshi arrived on the scene and blasted it with their attacks, it kept on moving.
What choice did he have but to follow? As he ran, he could see more and more colorful shapes of other senshi running alongside or near, their quarry the same. Most he didn't recognize -- sure, he saw them at the meeting. But the amount of skirts he saw made his heart sink. Was Sailor Requiem right? Were there honestly more female senshi than male?
Merope grit his teeth and forced himself to move faster. He'll show them! Even if there were more girls than guys, he was Sailor Merope! And he -- hey! There was the youma! Was that Castor? And another male senshi?! Heartened, Merope charged recklessly forward at the youma, praying that he wouldn't be hit too hard by his fellow senshi attacks as he moved in to deliver his own. "WAVE FIST!"
Man. Having a close-ranged attack sometimes sucked.

Well this was definitely a sight. On any regular day, it would be laughable to see twelve plus senshi chasing around a single youma, especially for the amount of time they were taking to kill it. Hell, it was laughable now. Many of them seemed tired, some having chased the thing from the beginning -- for Pegasus, she was starting to feel both the physical and mental strain of it, her patience already having been thin from the start. Surprisingly, Nemesis, her co-captain, was not the source of this frustration -- in all actuality, on this evening she had been the anchor holding the eternal senshi together as they patrolled, meandering mostly-silently through the snow. The sounds of battle not far away had alerted them to the situation, and thus they had been added to the chase.
Keeping mostly to the back of the group, the senshi of dreams watched as the others worked together to take the thing down, her blue-green eyes narrowing as time after time they hit it yet it still stayed upright. At first, she had joined this fight mostly to observe, more keen on sticking to the metaphorical shadows and provide assistance if needed, which she had firmly thought wouldn't be necessary. Certainly not with the sheer number of senshi, and more certainly not with it just being a youma. Yet as time went on, clearly things were not going as well as one would have hoped as more and more joined, and yet the thing did not go down. Finally, rounding a corner, Pegasus watched as it was bombarded with attacks, waiting until Nemesis had slown it down before she crossed her arms, the iridescent orb suddenly expanding in front of her.
"Dream Concussion."

"All at once..." She muttered, repeating the words of another senshi. She had been patrolling when she caught sight of other senshi following a youma, a youma that even with the sailors, supers, and even ETERNALS refused to die! Either the youma was insanely powerful... or it just had some damn good luck. A good defense probably helped too..
She was tired, and irritated. A combination that clearly spelt 'angry senshi' when put together. Lyra was normally a bundle of boundless energy, but even THIS youma was taking a toll on the red head.
At least, she knew a few of the senshi around. Nemesis and Pegasus were team mates of hers, knowing them since close to the begining of her senshidom. Even they were having issues! Their were so many senshi here, two, six, thirteen? It was MADNESS!
She had enough time to charge her attack while the onslaught ocured, the mini colorful nebula swirling around inside her hands like she was holding a invisible globe. All of the others slowing it down helped her time wise until she could release the attack...
"Nebula strike!"

If the senshi ever doubted that their powers combined could solve any problems they faced, then a lot of those doubts would be gone when the cacaphonic pulse of intermingling magic was thrown straight at the monster's face. In no less than ten seconds the poor youma had been stunned, lullabied, pelted with all sorts of projectiles and double-rainbowed, and it only had a second more to gape in confusion at a world that didn't make sense anymore before it collapsed to the ground in a spectacular puff of snow and exploded into a massive cloud of dust.
It was definitely a worthy foe -- and now it was finally dead, all thanks to some improptu teamwork. They all deserved a pat on the back. And maybe a round of applause.
...
Through the renewed silence of the cold night, the senshi could make out the sound of someone clapping.
Not only that, but the sound was somehow -- moving? -- and when the dust started to clear they could make out a figure who had presumably jumped off the roof, and was now falling entirely too slowly for it to be natural, especially considering his attire didn't include anything that could add to his air resistance. And speaking of his attire... this definitely wasn't a senshi. But his power signature didn't have that choking, foreboding feeling of a bad guy either. Whatever the case, he was grinning at them and clapping jovially like they were all street performers putting on a good act.
"Nice, going," he said, his boots finally touching the ground, "it's not every day you get to watch a good chase quite like that. I guess it's true, your type was just made for this sort of thing." There was a globe-sized, glowing orb he had tucked under an arm, with thin rope netting around it. While he eyed the senshi crowd, he took it up in his hands and started tossing it up in the air -- apparently watching it fall back down was about as fascinating as watching that youma die had been.
And he went on like that for a moment, before his eyes snapped back to the crowd again.
"Oh, right, I almost forgot. You're new people to me, and that means it's introduction time if I'm remembering this whole sequence right. So, care to toss me your names?"
