Ishie's Teepee
User ImageDominica lay resting, her small form curled up in a bed of soft moss at the base of a tree, watching the sun's rays as they began to fade away. Soon, it would be night and either her mother or father would be ushering her sister and her off to bed. She would sleep, as the saying goes, "like a rock" thanks to her flying lessons from earlier.

She'd worked her wings until they felt like there were going to fall off. But not so she could fly, something she had little interest in. No, what she wanted, was to see that pride within her parent's eyes. Maybe if they both felt that pride, they'd become closer?

The fear of her parents splitting had been with Dominica since she'd emerged from the basket. When she looked at other foals' parents and the bonds they seemed to share, and then looked at her own, it felt like all of those bonds just weren't there.

Did Aisha share her fears? She often wanted to ask her sister, but held her tongue. If Aisha didn't share her fear, and she brought it up, would Aisha be angry with her? Or would it just cause her sister to suffer in the same way that she did?

With her bright orange eyes wide open to the world, the small filly light, and carefully, cleaned her wings of the dirt and twigs that stuck to them. It was only natural for a new flier to crash a few times, but Aisha may have done so a few too many during her lessons.

It was just too hard and odd for her to try and learn when she had too different pairs of wings that wanted to do two different things, but with time she knew she would get the hang of it.

Letting out a light yawn after cleaning up her wings, Aisha allowed her head to drop and land along her sister's back. The other filly had remained quiet, as usual, but she got the feeling it wasn't because of the normal quiet nature her sister held. "Is there something wrong Nica?"

At the feeling of a weight on her back, Dominica smiled. The little filly didn't even need to look to know that her sister was using it as a resting place for her head. Shifting slightly, Dominica leaned into the extra warmth that her sister provided. A warmth that Dominica often took comfort in. Maybe it simply had to do with the fact that they're sisters, but Aisha's presence always brought more comfort to Dominica than any other could.

"No," murmured the filly, pushing aside her worries out of hope of keeping them hidden from her sister. Aisha already did most of the protecting, so Dominica was hoping to protect her from at least one thing. "Hey, what'd you think of flying?"

Strands of her short purple mane fell into the filly's green as she craned her head to peer over her shoulder at Aisha.

No. It was a simple answer, and one that come would just accept and find believable, but Aisha couldn't help but question her sister's answer. Though he mouth said "No", her eyes and actions said otherwise. She wouldn't push the subject though. The last thing the filly wanted to do is anger or sadden her sister by possibly bring up a touchy subject.

Giving a smile, the multi-breed foal chuckled as she thought back to her flying lessons. If anything she would sure she must have entertained any other soq and creatures whom may have been around to watch her off and failed attempts. She was sure that others her age were either doing way better than herself, or taking straight to the air, but then again not many foals had two odd pairs of wings like she did.

"I think I did okay? I fell to the ground, a lot, and crashed in to some stuff, but at least I didn't break anything, right? I think I scared daddy a few times though. He didn't seem to want to continue teaching me after a while, something about me killing myself or hurting myself if I keep trying too hard."

Those words were startling to say the least. If Aisha's flying attempts were scaring their father then she must be doing some really crazy stuff. Unbidden, images of her sister flying head first into a try, or flying off a cliff and then dropping like a stone. Her expression pulled back into a cringe as she unconsciously shifted closer to her sister. Seeking comfort from strong sister as her tongue darted out to wet her lips.

"So, you're alright? No bad booboos or anything?" questioned the filly. Her question instantly conjured another line of thought. Maybe instead of working on flying, she should work on healing? Going cross-eyed, she gazed at the small horn protruding from her head. Then, she could help. She could heal her sister's booboos, and her mom and dad's.
