Claire slipped it under the ghoul's door. In all honesty, she didn't actually know who had stolen her chips. But someone had mentioned in passing how yummy 'Lizzy's chips were, and she had no other leads than that.
Claire wasn't really the best at spelling, and she knew it, so she made sure to correct her mistakes before she gave it to her.
Spookday came eventually and Claire waited outside 'Skell's Horrific Treats' , glanced at everyone that came by and wondered if they were Lizzy. She was holding a little sign with the ghoul's name so that she'd know where she was.
When she turned up, Claire gave her an angry look and said with an air of impatience
"Hello. Why did you take my chips? I want them back. You need to learn to get your own stuff because those were mine."
Her stomach growled in agreement.

It sounded like some sort of a prank - she had returned to her room from the library where she handed the pumpkin-baby "Sprout" to its other mother, only to find a handwritten note in her room. She would had missed it too, if not for the fact that her Puggles had found it first and was chewing on it when she returned.
While it sounded like a prank, she hadn't gone to the Maul for a long time, and was inching to do some shopping... After all, a ghoul can never have too many clothes or shoes or bags or accessories! She giggled softly at the thought; maybe she'll even pick up something for little Sprout! Besides, if it wasn't a prank, clearing the air with this 'Claire' sounded like a good idea... Although the fact that she was this upset over a bag of chips unnerved Lizzy a little.
Still, Spooksday came quickly, and the Spider Demoness found herself at the Maul, hair up in a loose bun with a hair stick through it paired with a flowing dress and a pair of lacy boots. Hung on her arm was a small handbag; she came prepared with lots of Seeds to spend and an unopened bag of chips that might come in handy later... Well, in case this 'Claire' Demon is nice, Lizzy figured that she could give her the chips as a sign of friendship... And then possibly ask her to go shopping with her! How fun!
It was hard to miss the sign with her name on it. As she picked up her pace and approached the other ghoul, she blushed; now everyone will know her name! Well, her nickname but still!
"C-Claire?" She frowned slightly before shaking her head, pouting a little as she added, "I'm not sure who told you that, but I assure you that I am no thief! You can't just accuse others like that without proof..."

She didn't look like a thief... She was obviously some sort of spider demon. Did spiders like chips? She was holding chips... were they for Claire? They weren't the same flavor, though.
"Uhm... I'm sorry. Somebody stole my chips and I didn't know who, so I listened out. Someone mentioned something about 'Lizzy's chips', so I assumed. The cafeteria doesn't sell chips and you were the only suspect... So, um, yeah. I guess I was wrong then."
She put down the sign and stood up to leave.
"Sorry for wasting your time. I'll find out who did it someday."
Claire opened her shoulder bag for something to eat and felt something...Something packet shaped. Her eyes widened as she looked to Lizzy and back to her bag. There were her chips, the same ones that someone had 'stolen'.
"Oh dear..."
She looked down at her dress (dressing differently today: her regular outfit was in the wash).
"Oh dear oh dear oh dear..."
Claire sat down, head in hands. Her stomach let out a slight moan.
"I'm really sorry, Lizzy. I'm so so so sorry..."

"R-really? I actually prefer something like roasted ladybugs for a light snack," She smiled, glad that she was no longer being accused of being a thief. She shook her head at the other Demon's comment, "Aw, don't worry about it - you didn't! This is the Maul, I doubt I'll actually be wasting my time here!"
At Claire's sudden change in demeanor, Lizzy had a mild panic attack; she was sure there were people staring, but she was more worried about the other ghoul's well-being... She don't look too well!
"W-What's wrong, Claire? Are you okay?" She squatted down in front of her, tilting her head as she placed her handbag and bag of chips on the floor next to her. However, upon realizing that Claire was merely apologizing and not in any sort of pain, the Spider Demon relaxed. She grinned, and continued in a teasing tone, holding on to the ghoul's hands with her own, "Sorry doesn't cut it! Why don't you go window shopping with me? Here, you can have this bag of chips... I brought them for you, after all!"

"OH. Uhm, yes if that would make you feel better!" She gave Lizzy an apologetic smile. "I do love shopping..."
Claire opened her bag to find her wallet. It had a picture of her family on the inside. She opened the flap to find the silver seeds and check how much she had. It was a reasonable amount.
"We can...Share if you like?" Claire was really trying. It took a lot of effort.
And they set off to do some shopping.

"It would," Lizzy giggled softly, reaching out for Claire's hands before tugging her slowly towards the crowds, keeping a look out for any new stores she might had missed on her last trip to the Maul. Making sure they were walking side by side, she lets go of the Avarice Demoness' hand, looking at her fondly, "You're very cute! Your dress compliments you... In fact, any shops you want to visit?"
She then smiled, shaking her head at her question, "Thank you, but I don't really like chips that much, so you can have them!" It was true; while she enjoys them once in a while, her natural diet - bugs - still tasted the best to her.

"That's good." They started to walk when Lizzy said something about Claire being cute "Oh thanks~ You look very p-pretty too."
She nodded as Lizzy refused the chips and starting eating them herself. They were her favorite flavor.

"Thank you," Lizzy giggled; now that any misunderstandings between them had been cleared up, she was growing rather fond of the ghoul. Looking around the Maul and trying to avoid bumping into anyone, she tried to single out a shop which might cater to both her and Claire's tastes in clothes - she would ask the Avarice Demon for advice, but she looked so contented eating that she just couldn't bring herself to disturb her.
Ahead, she spotted a small store by the name of "Snips of Snails", an accessory shop where they sell everything from bracelets and necklaces to earrings and hair bands, in a wide range of colors. Perhaps Claire would prefer accessories to clothing? Besides, she needed to get new accessories to match some of the new clothes her mother had sent to her in the previous scare package... Just like shoes, a ghoul can never have too many accessories!
"Lets go there?" She suggested with a smile, stopping before pointing out the shop to the other Demoness. They were now just a short distance away, and could see through the shop front into the shop, where all the accessories were located.

"Accessories! I want to buy a hat, if that's ok. And maybe a new shirt. But I don't think you can get shirts here. I'll just buy a hat."
As they entered, Claire saw a little hat rack on the left of the shop and walked towards it. There was a beanie she really liked. It was Brown and had a cute skitter on the front. She tried it on.
"What do you think?" She turned to face Lizzy. It fit comfortably on her head and it would be useful in the cold classrooms at school. Perfect.

"Of course its okay! And we could always stop by a clothing shop later... I haven't really had the chance to explore this Maul since I moved into the dorms in school." She giggled as they entered the shop, her eyes shining with pure delight as she scanned the displays. She could already see accessories she just had to buy, and her mental shopping list was growing longer by the minute. She reached for a black velvet choker with black metal swag chains and a pale pink crystal pendant, rubbing the cloth between her fingers; she had always liked smooth materials... They reminded her of silk.
Claire's voice caused her to snap out of her accessories-overload-induced-bliss-coma, however, and she half-turned to face the Demoness. There was a short pause as her smile widened and she hurried over to the ghoul, looking rather excited, "I think it fits you perfectly! The color suits you and it looks comfortable too - the Skitter looks adorable to boot!" She gestured towards a nearby mirror, wanting the ghoul to see it for herself.
She then held out the choker to her neck and eyed herself in the mirror, mentally shifting through her wardrobe for a matching dress. She smiled, looking at Claire, "And what do you think of this? Too decorated?"

Claire looked in the mirror and nodded before checking the price and the amount of money she had. Lizzy asked her a question about a choker.
"It looks nice! Although I don't think it suits your skintone... there's a nicer one over there that I think you'd like."
Fast forward time!
Claire had bought her things from the cute little shop and was now quite tired. She'd bought 3 more packets from a small little shop owned by a grumpy-looking monster. She walked away as fast as possible with her chips. That monster was in a baaaaaaad mood.
"Do we need anything else? 'Cause I know an awesome cake shop..." she said, licking her lips absent-mindedly.

It was like having a younger sibling along on a shopping trip... Not that Lizzy had any younger siblings to compare Claire to, but she just felt that way - if she had a younger sibling, she would be like Claire. Probably.
She had gotten a lot of new accessories from the shops they went to, putting each one into her handbag to save her the trouble of carrying a million different bags in her hand.
"A cake shop?" She echoed, looking thoughtful as she shook her head; she had gotten enough accessories to last her for a while, and while she wasn't hungry, she didn't mind something to nibble on right about now, "I'm good... Lead the way to this shop then!" She smiled.

The route to the cake shop was like a maze; so much so that anyone in their right mind accompanying Claire to find it would have been wondering "Surely there's another way!"
However, after about 5 minutes Claire finally found it. It was almost ready to close (an hour and it'd be shut) so the cakes were on special. She bought a whole doughnut cake and asked if they could take out a slice for Lizzy. Her experience with friends' eating cake was limited, however it was the usual case that guests only wanted one slice.
"Bon apa... meat!" she said happily, digging in with her best table manners.

She followed Claire through the Maul, not sure if she should stop the ghoul and suggest that they ask for directions. When they eventually arrived at a cake shop, she smiled; a special? She didn't know that bakeries do these sales close to closing!
As they entered, she was about to play an order when Claire did it for them. She smiled, "Thanks Claire, that's really nice of you! Although... A whole cake? Are you sure you can finish that?" She seemed to have forgotten that the ghoul is a Gluttony Demon.
Not for long though.
"... You can have my slice too, here," She nodded with a soft giggle as Claire started to eat, sliding the plate with a single slice of cake on it towards the ghoul as she tilted her head, "I'm not that hungry, after all."

Claire nodded as Lizzy offered her the slice. After all, it wasn't bug cake so Lizzy probably didn't like it. Claire ate it quite slowly in case the ghoul changed her mind, but after eating it for a minute or so, Claire grew impatient and gobbled it up. She made a face as though apologising for eating it so fast and cleaned her hands before just... sitting for a while. Claire really liked this, hanging with Lizzy. She liked having friends. Back home, Claire had friends too but she didn't have as much fun as this. They mostly had fancy tea parties and spread rumours about her because she 'ate too much'. Although it taught her to grow a thick skin, Claire felt the wounds were still fresh. Lizzy seemed nice and pure, though. Claire smiled at her for reasons Lizzy didn't know and closed her eyes for a moment.
"Thank you for shopping with me, Lizzy. I'm sorry about the note and stuff." she said rather quietly. She was sincere.
Claire pulled from her bag a packet of dried bugs and gave them to Lizzy as a thank-you. "I bought them when you weren't looking." she said with a laugh.
Claire thanked Lizzy again and headed back to the school. A nice, hot shower, a nice, warm bed and a nice, fluffy pillow awaited her return.
