The Gouf is a new land warfare mobile suit, based on the Zaku II. Anticipating the appearance of Federation mobile suits, its designers gave the Gouf a variety of melee weapons - built-in finger machine guns, a defensive shield, and an electrified whip known as a "heat rod." The Gouf also has stronger armor and higher mobility than the Zaku II, making it a formidable close-combat machine. In the hands of a master pilot like Lieutenant Ramba Ral, this sinister-looking mobile suit is capable of dueling even the mighty Gundam.

The Gouf is a new land warfare mobile suit developed to replace the MS-06J Zaku II. Thanks to its supplemental leg thrusters, greater agility, and improved melee combat abilities, the Gouf is indeed superior to the Zaku II. However, no sooner has production began than the Gouf is itself discontinued in favor of the jet-propelled MS-09 Dom. As a result, only a small number of these machines ever make it to the frontlines, but in the hands of a master pilot they can be devastatingly effective. Ace pilot Norris Packard ultimately receives a customized version of the Gouf, equipped with a powerful shield-mounted gatling gun and a redesigned, grapple-style heat rod.

Early in the Gouf's development process, Zeon's engineers attempted to adapt this lightweight mobile suit into a jet-propelled flying machine. The project ended in failure, and the Gouf was instead designed to use the Dodai YS bomber as a makeshift flying platform. Now, near the end of the war, the Gouf Flight Type has at last become a reality. Equipped with thermonuclear jet engines in its legs, aerial maneuvering fins on its torso, and the same "gatling shield" as the Gouf Custom, this airborne mobile suit combines firepower and unrivaled mobility. Two of these experimental mobile suits appear during the Federation's assault on the secret development base.

Technical and Historical Notes

When the Zeonic Company's amphibious MS-06M Zaku Marine Type proved a failure, the Zimmad Company stepped in to take a new approach to the challenge of underwater combat mobile suits. As the Principality of Zeon was desparate to keep their foothold on Earth during the One Year War, they needed an effective way to operate in Earth's oceans. The Zimmad Company's first - and successful - design was the MSM-03 Gogg. Heavily armored to withstand deep sea pressures, and with the sea to act as a natural heat sink, its bulky body housed a large and powerful reactor - large enough to power the Gogg's built-in beam weapons. Being a submersible unit, the Gogg's body also contained ballast tanks, whose water could be used to radiate reactor heat when it operated out of the water in amphibious assaults. With these features, the MSM-03 Gogg was the first "true" amphibious mobile suit and would set the stage for all underwater combat suits to come.

Fixed armaments: 4 x 105mm vulcan gun, fire-linked, mounted in head; 6-tube rocket launcher, mounted on forearm; mega particle cannon, mounted inforearm; 1x machine gun, replaces mega particle cannon, mounted in forearm
Technical and Historical Notes

Following the Zimmad Company's first successful amphibious mobile suit, the MSM-03 Gogg, the Zeonic Company came back with its own original design. Using many internal parts from a standard MS-06F Zaku, the company produced the MSM-04 Acguy. Even with two Zaku powerplants, the heat signatures produced by the Acguy were relatively low compared to most other amphibious mobile suits from the One Year War. This lent the Acguy a stealthiness that made it perfect for covert operations. Zeon's Commander Char Aznable led a squadron of soldiers in Acguy mobile suits during a mission to destroy the mobile suit factory inside the Earth Federation's underground Jaburo base on 30 November UC 0079. Though the demolition mission was a failure, the Acguy did prove its usefulness by allowing Char's troops to succesfully infiltrate the base undetected. The Acguy's armament also proved something of a surprise to the Federation: in addition to head-mounted vulcan guns and rocket launchers in the left arm, what appeared to be more rocket launchers in the right arm were actually extendable claws. Topped off by a mega particle cannon, the right arm could also extend out, making it a useful punching or striking weapon. This is just standard loadout, as the forearms are interchangeable. Thus, there are some Acguys with rocket launcers in the right arm. Some have been seen to have machine guns instead of mega particle cannons, but that is most likely just an 'in-field' modification..

General and Technical Data

Model number: MSM-04G
Code name: Juagg
Unit type: prototype amphibious mobile suit
Manufacturer: Zeonic Company
Operator: Principality of Zeon
First deployment: UC 0079
Accommodation: pilot only, in standard cockpit in torso
Dimensions: head height 17.4 meters
Weight: empty 137.3 metric tons; max gross 198.7 metric tons
Powerplant: Minovsky type ultracompact fusion reactor, output rated at 2660 kW
Propulsion: hydrojet thrusters: 97900 kg total
Performance: maximum thruster acceleration 0.49 G; maximum water speed 55 knots
Fixed armaments: 2 x 3-tube 320mm rocket launcher, mounted on arms

Technical and Historical Notes

In preparation for its planned assault on the Earth Federation Forces' underground South American Jaburo military headquarters during the One Year War, the Zeon military forces stationed at California Base developed a series of specialized mobile suits to aid in the assault. One of these was the MSM-04G Juagg, an amphibious unit designed to provide medium-range fire support for other mobile suits engaged in close combat. Loosely based on the MSM-04 Acguy design, the Juagg mounted a pair of 3-barrel 320mm rocket launchers for "hands," although these could be changed out for normal humanoid-type hands in needed. However, the Juaggs built at California Base were never deployed, as Zeon's Commander Char Aznable discovered the secret spacedock entrance to Jaburo long before the scheduled assault, and launched a hasty attack with what limited resources he could receive from California Base in time.

Performance: maximum thruster acceleration 0.86 G; maximum water speed 103 knots
Equipment and design features: sensors, range 5200 meters
Fixed armaments: 6 x 240mm missile launcher, 5 round magazine per launcher, mounted in head; 2 x mega particle cannon, mounted in forearms

Technical and Historical Notes

Following in the wave of amphibious mobile suits being developed for the Principality of Zeon's Earthside war front during the One Year War, MIP Company's first production model mobile suit was the highly successful MSM-07 Z'Gok. Being both fast in the water and agile on land, the Z'Gok had learned from Zimmad Company's MSM-03 Gogg and Zeonic Company's MSM-04 Acguy, replacing the bulky ballast water tanks normally used for cooling the suit's reactor out of water with an air-cooled fan system. The Z'Gok also had mega particle cannons mounted in the claw-hands for easier aiming, and large-capacity magazines for its missile launchers. All of these factors made the Z'Gok perhaps the most successful line of amphibious mobile suits used by the Principality of Zeon.

Fixed armaments: 2 x beam cannon, mounted in hands; 6 x torpedo launcher, mounted in head

Technical and Historical Notes

Following their invasion and occupation of many areas of Earth during the One Year War, the Principality of Zeon military began developing amphibious mobile suits to increase its war capabilities in Earth's oceans and waterways. One of the most successful designs was the MSM-07 Z'Gok, though MIP Company continued to improve this model. This upgraded model was called the MSM-07E Z'Gok-E ("E" for "experiment"), and while similar to its predecessor, it featured many improvements, the most visible being the ability to draw its arms and legs up closer into its body, making the Z'Gok-E more streamlined and faster while moving underwater. Propellant storage for its thrusters were moved from its main body into tanks mounted inside the arms, with energy caps installed in the hand-mounted beam guns, making them able to store up power from the generator and discharge a rapid-fire, machine gun-like burst when required. With this increase in handy firepower for both underwater and land combat, the original missile tubes mounted in the head - which could only be fired out of the water - were replaced with torpedo tubes, giving it additional firepower while operating underwater. Only a limited number of these experimental units were built, with one unit operated by Zeon's Cyclops Team special forces unit in a raid on the Earth Federation Forces' Arctic base in December UC 0079.

Fixed armaments: twin beam sword, stored in recharge rack on back, hand-carried in use
Optional hand armaments: beam rifle, powered by rechargeable energy cap; shield, can be optionally stored on backpack

Technical and Historical Notes

By the middle of the One Year War, rumors of the Earth Federation Forces' development of its own mobile suits had reached the Principality of Zeon's ears. Although the development of Zeon's own mobile suit technology continued, the appearance of the Federation's powerful, beam rifle-carrying RX-78-2 Gundam created a sudden change in plans. An in-development, high-performance mobile suit called the MS-11 Gelgoog was suddenly cancelled, as the Zeon military wanted to incorporate hand-carried beam armaments into new mobile suits. With the MS-11 model number having been reassigned to the "Pezun Project's" Action Zaku, the Gelgoog project was-restarted under the model number MS-14, with the new goal being the ability for the Gelgoog to use energy cap-based weapons. After 30 experimental MS-14S units had completed field testing and Zeon's beam rifle technology had been perfected, the mass-produced MS-14A quickly went into production and deployment.

Intended as a replacement for the aging MS-06F Zaku II as a primary front line unit, the MS-14A Gelgoog was a high-performance mobile suit, arguably as powerful as - if not more powerful than - the Federation's Gundam. Well-suited for both terrestrial and space combat, the Gelgoog sported a large beam rifle, forearm-mounted jet engine thrusters for added maneuverability, and a twin beam sword. Unfortunately for Zeon, the introduction of the Gelgoog was a case of too-little-too-late. Only 165 units were produced and put into combat by the last day of the war at the Battle of A Baoa Qu on 31 December UC 0079... mostly piloted by novice pilots and fresh recruits who couldn't use their powerful new Gelgoogs effectively against veteran Federation pilots in less-powerful mass-produced GMs. It is often argued that, had Zeon managed to put the Gelgoog into production even only two months earlier, the outcome of the One Year War may have been turned in Zeon's favor.

Actually, you seem to have copied most of your information word-for-word from Gundam Official (except for some of the amphibious Mobile Suits)... without giving them any credit, might I add. Poor form, especially considering that the text on that site is copyrighted.

In the future, I suggest you either restate your information in your own words or give credit where credit is due.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. What I'm really here to do is provide a few sidenotes on some Mobile Suits...

MS-01

- The first Mobile Suit ever produced, the MS-01 (also known as the ZI-XA3) of Zeonic was trialed against MIP's new space fighter, the MIP-X1. Because it utilized the AMBAC System, the MS-01 had roughly twice the operating time of its rival. According to the Zeon Military File, the MS-01 was powered by nuclear fission reactor.

MS-02

- Featured nothing revolutionary. It simply had increased mobility and propellant capacity. It also utilized a nuclear fission reactor.

MS-03

- Rolled out in February UC 0074, the MS-03 was the first Mobile Suit built with combat in mind. However, its power output proved too low to be practical, due to the fact that its fission reactor was not powerful enough to make up for its added weight.

MS-04

- The first Mobile Suit to utilize the Minovsky-Ionesco nuclear fusion reactor.

MS-07B3 Gouf

- We see the MS-07B3 Gouf Custom used only by a handful of skilled pilots within the Principality of Zeon, most notably Norris Packard, retainer of the Sahalin family, and Lou Roher and Manning of the Midnight Fenrir.

MSM-03 Gogg

- There is massive confusion concerning the development history of the MSM-03 Gogg. According to the Zeon Military File, the Principality of Zeon began looking into amphibious Mobile Suits in UC 0075(!), and that two prototype MSM-03A were created at the start of the One Year War. These two units were then deployed in the second Earth landing operation and participated in the assualt on the Earth Federation's California Base on March 13, UC 0079. Mass production of the regular model then began the following month at the captured California Base.

The problem with this, of course, is obvious: if this were true, then A) why the hell was the MS-06M (MSM-01) Zaku Marine Type produced; and B) why the hell do we only begin seeing this model in November, UC 0079? It makes no sense.

MAHQ.net, however, uses the explanation first found in the Mobile Suit Gundam MSV books, which states that Zimmad's MSM-03 Gogg was the answer to the utter failure of Zeonic's MS-06M Zaku Marine Type. If you had to use one of the two, I'd use the latter explanation: it simply makes more sense in the scheme of things.

MS-14 Gelgoog

- The YMS-14 Gelgoog left Zeon on October 26, UC 0079 for testing in the Corregidor Shoal Zone by the "Chimera Corps." Thirty of these units were made in all, with 29 being assigned to the "Chimera Corps" and the 30th given to Lieutenant Commander Char Aznable. The standard Beam Rifle for the MS-14 Gelgoog is not completed until November, and the MS-14 Gelgoog does not enter mass production until December.
