The Dark Carnival...
~
Imagine an abandoned theme park. The grey skies make the old ruins as dull and quiet as a graveyard. Nothing had stirred within the park for over fifty years...and yet, people began to dissapear inside of it at night. Bloody corpses of children and adults alike could only be recognized from their dental records because the damages to their bodies were too severe. Drawn to the grounds like a moth to a flame, only five children in the history of the park had ever escaped. With no memory as to how they managed to do so; or even the park itself, the recent grand opening of the park by an unknown auctioner has attracted the very children who had escaped its grasp ten years ago.
The question remains...Can they escape again?

~Rules~ 
Alright, here is how this rp is going to work!!! Each person is going to play at least two characters. If you are a carnee, thats wonderful! But we do need victims so, each person must play two human characters (depending on how many rpers show up to this shin-dig). When you PM me the two human profiles, post the word SKULL in the one that you have already pre-planned to die sometime in the rp. But please do your best in decorating the posts of both...only I will know which ones are going to die, and will reveal a Target to you (if your a carnee) at the appropriate times. This keeps some things a secret and adds some mystery to the role-play. You CAN become a carnee half-way through the rp, so there are no set rules on only being human or a carnee. There are no age limits, be a child, teen, or an adult.
1. Posting.
I LOVE Decorated posts. so much so, that I'm making a post skeleton for all the pre-mades. You can use that or make up your own, but please decorate your post somehow. You dont have to be extremely literate, but at least one good paragraph will make me happy. Only use 10/11 size font for posting unless your character is talkingvery loudly. You should all know this but remember to chat ooc in (()) or {{}} or something like that so we know its ooc. If you have never decorated your posts before, I will help you and be happy to help ^^.
2. profiles.
Yes, you must use my profile skeleton. If you like a character, but think you have a better photo or name for them, pm it with your profile. If you want to be a carnie then your pm topic must be: Need to feed. If you wish to be one of the main teen characters/non-carnies then topic the pm topic must be: I need to be free.Please keep in mind that I WILL edit your photo if it is too big. (but pick whatever photo you want because I love photo editing.) Only real-life photos please...these can be 'borrowed' from places such as deviantart or yahoo.com image search, or modelmayhem.com.
3. About Godmodding.
Godmodding is an evil thing to do, but the carnies are fast and strong as they are in essence 'ghosts' of people who were taken into the carnival and never escaped but were never killed. They became killers as they grew up inside this demention. If you are not a carnie, there is almost no way you can compete with that except for having good luck and using wit. So no godmoding...however, if your character is never hit by a knife, or is 'invincible' too any form of attack...then will I allow a tiny bit of godmodding such as: The knife missed her arm but slid past her coat, ripping the fabric as the blade tore through the air. What good is a horror movie if nobody dies or freaks out? so for the sake of the story a tiny bit in emergency situations is ok. This rule applies to carnies too, cant be invincible. They can die, except Darren. Who will eventually pop back up because he is a part of the carnival now.
4. No adult content is to be described.
Regarding 'making love'. I am not afraid of it happening to add to the story; but it must be 'skipped'. No *heated* discriptions of it, hint that it happened or mention that it happened to a friend later but dont describe it. (I dont really know when doing it would fit in as all the characters would be trying not to get killed...when would they have time?) But I love being surprized and adding twists. If your character has the hots/love for another, talk with the other person in a pm asking their permission and skip til the end. (Take in mind some chars are very evil and may have rapist tendencys, Those must also be skipped and not go into detail, I would rather those not happen, but it is a horror rp.) HINT ONLY.
and obviously follow the Gaian tos, or other general rules.

The Ringleader=Taken..
(The ringleader is the 'master' of the carnival who rarely awakens. The most evil, insane, and sadistic of all the carnies.)

But she doesn’t sing them loud, no she sings them quietly as she tilts her head back and forth. Normally that means she wants to see someone go away. And some how they always do!
