Aila had never realized the sheer amount of stuff she had come to possess before she was made to pack it up. She had managed to move out of her apartment with but a single rolling suitcase to her name. Now, however, that single rolling suitcase was full to capacity and the girl was left with a couple of shoe boxes into which to condense the rest of her belongings. She defended herself with the reasoning that she had acquired a number of new necessities such as uniforms and... a small mountain of plush toys.

It was of no consequence, though. In the end the former thief was successful in her endeavor and was soon proceeding down the hall towards the grunt quarters, four pokeballs attached at her hip. She sported her casual clothes for now, reminding herself that she would have to find time to alter her new uniforms so they would fit later.

Aila glanced at the room numbers as she passed them until she came to the one she had been assigned. Her brow furrowed when she recognized the number, and she studied the door intently before knocking to alert any potential resident of her presence. Wasn't this room...?

The knock at the door alerted Liam to someone at the door. This was a new experience to him, having practically no real friends in the base and certainly none who came to visit him in his room. And the elites (Oh, the elites!) usually just knocked briskly before entering, not bothering to make sure he was proper. Needless to say (though say it he would, to anyone who cared enough to listen) this had lead to more uncomfortable situations than he cared to remember.

Besides, his room was... well, his room. Nobody had yet found him a proper roommate and that was fine with him. So who could be at the door? His question would only be answered when he opened it, of course, so he dropped what he was doing (Nobody had to know that had been playing with one of his stuffed Pokemon...) and grabbed his uniform hat from his desk, straightening it on his head before grabbing the knob and putting on his best smile.

"Good afterno- Oh! H-hello Aila!" he squirmed a bit in his boots, not expecting company of the feminine persuasion, and glanced around to make sure his room was tidy, "Long time, n-no... uh, see..."

And it was exactly the room she had anticipated it would be. Or rather, exactly the room she thought there was a good chance it had been. "Hello, Liam," she said with a cordial smile. "It looks like this was your room after all... I came by before the trainee exam but no one was in, so I thought I might have written down the wrong room number." She had been disappointed at the time, reluctant to go into the test without any idea of what to expect, but everything had worked out in the end and Aila had no reason to bear any grudge for it.

"O-oh... you came... by before?" He couldn't remember what he had been doing, but he had wondered what had happened to that Trainee who had beaten him at a training race the first time they met. She had asked for his help after all... and he felt bad that he hadn't been able to offer it.

His eyes were, again, drawn to the boxes in her hand. Surely she had passed her exam... right? He wouldn't be able to stand it if she had failed on his account! Much to his dismay, Liam blurted these thoughts without thinking through the situation first "You didn't... you know... fail, did you? I'm sooo sorry! I didn't think they'd kick you out for failing the exam! How could you fail I didn't fail thats totally unfair we can go talk to an Elite or something and let you take it again..." He stopped, realizing he was ranting, and dropped his head.

"No, I - " But he was off, his presumably wild imagination carrying him to all kinds of heights. Finally he ran out of steam, falling to silence, and Aila took the opportunity to explain her circumstances. "No need to worry. I passed. I didn't even think it was possible to fail... let alone to be kicked out for it." She had been given the impression that the only way anyone got kicked out was if they did so with a bullet in their heart and were promptly rolled into the nearest body of water.

"But then wh-" The cogs in his brain turned and he slowly began fitting things together. He started with two and added two and finally came to a resounding four. "I-i-is this... your room?" Were it anatomically possible, his jaw would have literally been on the floor. Had he actually been roomed with a girl? How was he supposed to get dressed in the mornings? What if he had to...

"Yes, it seems that way." She cast a passing glance at the slip of paper clamped between her hand and the box she carried, a notice indicating the number of her new room. "I'm guessing they're trying to cut down on the number of grunts with their own rooms or something... Save space and whatnot." The expression of pure terror that crossed Liam's face was hard to mistake. Aila wasn't terribly thrilled with the idea of sharing a room with a boy herself, but such was life. "I hope I won't be too much of an inconvenience... If it's a concern, I think I might be able to put in a request to change rooms." No telling how seriously the higher-ups actually reviewed such requests, though.

"Well you better, uh... I mean to say... c-come in... I guess? It is your room... a-after all..." He stood aside to let her in, spying from the corner of his eye the dolls he had left sitting on top of his covers.

"OH! But would you look at that! I should tidy up a bit first!" He dashed forward, shoving the plushies (gifts from various friends around the base) into the crack between his bed and the wall, letting them slip into the dark unknown beneath his bed... Speaking of that, he was beginning to realize he might have to clean under there, in case she went peeking... He had stopped paying attention to her as he grabbed wildly at discarded clothing, all seemingly the same, all part of his uniform. And he was going to have to wash these...

Aila opened her mouth to accept the invitation when Liam suddenly exclaimed, about-faced, and proceeded to tear through his room in what seemed a fervent effort to reorganize. "You don't have to worry about it... You remember how neat the trainee dorms were?" Or rather, how neat they weren't. It seemed that many a brazen teen joined Rocket for the sole purpose of nonchalantly distributing their belongings throughout the barracks as though the whole room were their own. "Or, if you like, I would be happy to help." It was under such conditions as the trainee dorms that Aila had discovered her affinity for cleaning and organization.

He turned around after shoving a pizza box (complete with a couple slices of nearly-moldy pizza) under his bed. "Oh nonono, it's ok. Just a bit of... t-tidyi-" he stopped when he saw yet another plush toy on the floor near his feet and quickly kicked it beneath his bed to join the rest of his belongings.
"See? All clean. Y-your bed is over..." He pointed towards the other side of the room, to a bed that was, aside from a small layer of dust, much cleaner than his own. "M-make yourself at home." He smiled then, flopping down on his bed to watch her unpack. He would have offered to help, but he figured she could take care of herself, and she only had a couple boxes anyway...

Aila was familiar with the concept of under-bed storage, but Liam seemed to be taking the term to an extreme. He also seemed incredibly nervous about something, the girl noticed with a slight inclination of her head. She gave a mental shrug, deciding that she would probably be nervous too if she had had a room to herself for ages and a member of the opposing gender suddenly declared himself her roommate. She made a mental note to take care not to impose.

With a nod signifying both acknowledgment and thanks, Aila set down her things near the designated bed and opened the flaps. She first drew out the extra sheets she had brought with her from her apartment and began a brief fuss with the making of the bed. She cast something of a conversational glance over her shoulder, "So what have you been up to?"

"O-o-oh..." He sat down on his now barren bed, casting more nervous looks around the room for anything he might have left sitting around. He noticed one small plush, the one he knew was from Sorano, under his covers but decided to leave it. He'd have to rescue its poor friends from under his bed some time and Aila would inevitably see them then. "I've been... working hard. Training. You kn-know... for our rematch." He grinned, acknowledging he hadn't forgotten, but hoped she wouldn't be demanding it any time soon.
"What... about, uh... you know, you?"

"That's good to hear," she replied as she smoothed out cream-colored sheets. "I've been working hard too, so I'm sure that rematch will be a good one." She turned to the next objects in the box: a little stash of plush dolls that had somehow found their way into the base in October and been distributed amongst the Rockets with various intents in mind. She'd have to find a proper place for them later. Except for the little spider ones. They had a special place prepared in advance called under the bed forever.

"Sad to say there's not much to tell." Aila took a seat on the freshly-made bed to more comfortably unpack her few belongings. "Met a few people, went a few places... There was a practice mission a while back. That was mildly interesting, I guess." At the end of the day, even work in a crime syndicate was just work, she supposed. People who had fun did so because they made fun.

"Hmm... that sounds a lot like what I've been doing. 'Go get me a drink' here and 'Go clean a bathroom or something,' there. Never something real. Man, I'd die to join in on a raid," He tossed himself back onto his bed with an audible 'humph' and tossed his arms into the air. "I hear they have so much fun on those things. And they always come back with tons of Pokemon!" His eyes were once more drawn towards the plush which he had just minutes earlier been using to roleplay what it would be like for him on a raid. That one had survived longest and was, of course, Liam. The others, police and their Growlithes, had all suffered a similar fate at Artie's strong claws.

"A raid would be interesting, I bet," she agreed with a small nod. "It'd be nice to have a chance to put my skills to good use again." She had spent the vast majority of her life honing her skills as a thief. It seemed strange that now, as a member of a criminal organization, she never had the opportunity to demonstrate those skills. She pushed a few more belongings into their new places and then leaned forward, elbows on her knees and chin rested on laced fingers. "Say, are you free right now? We could head to Camphoreon, steal some pokemon... You know, do our job, for real."
