As would be predicted, the By'arre Family did not have a conventional Thanksgiving planned.
After all, there was Silas Lorcalle [well, By'arre, now], an old man trapped in the body of a fifteen-year-old who demanded a traditional Thanksgiving dinner after the fifty years that he hadn't been able to have one.
Then, there was Noah By'arre, yuppie and vegetarian who was infamous for somehow screwing with holiday dinners and making them conventional and meatless and often very filled with confusion and fury from his guests.
As of recently, there was also Aludra By'arre, also a vegetarian, though with very exquisite tastes and a surprising talent with making foods of all sorts and his daughter, Demetre, who still couldn't even eat solid foods. Leave it to Aludra to custom-make all of her baby-food purees.
Next, there was Lirona Lorcalle, currently pregnant and far-too-often picky about what she wanted to eat, though rest-assured that it was going to be a lot. Not a vegetarian at all, she was also excited to share in the festivities, despite not being the most talented chef.
Continuing, there was the newly-established family: Adhara, 'Zuba, Adelle, BonBon, and NiNi, who from gossip were planning on having yet another child, though this one was going to be born of both of them [somehow]. From what any of them knew, the only specific thing Noah knew about their tastes was that they consisted of sweet things, and Adelle didn't eat. At all. It didn't help that the idea of her presence put tension in the air.
Then there was Fitzroy, invited considering he loved food and was close enough to a member of the family to be invited.
And even that wasn't all of them.
Currently, the chefs of the family [as well as the people who enjoyed being around them] were gathered in the kitchen, the rest of the family gathering in the living room, where there were board games and chips and dip and other such things scattered around, the center table that usually took up so much space currently in storage.

"GUYS GUYS GUYS!" The little green-haired snake burst through the front door, giggling as he flopped onto the floor when his balance failed him. "Hi guys I'm so glad to see you all OH MY GOD is that food I love food.....Hi guys!" BonBon giggled, curling up upon himself before launching himself around the nearest relative to hug them to pieces. He was so happy to be here, and so happy to see them, and so happy to smell and see the food, and so happy to YAY!
Nini walked into after the older child, golden eyes scanning the room. "Ni....ni!" The little shadow toddled up to the table, snatching up a spoon and promptly swallowing it. Yay shinies! The small, black, jellowy klepto had made her first of what she planned to be many finds. What other shinies could she find here to take home with her? Maybe she'd fine some jewelry, or some coins, or tinfoil! The little shadow grinned, clapping her little hands together before looking at the other people innocently.
Behind them followed followed a happy looking Azubahiel, her arms laden with containers of warm food and a bag of homemade bread. She was sure her dishes weren't nearly as good as those already here, but she'd tried her best. ((Even if that probably wasn't good enough.)) She looked at the happy family, offering a small little smile. "H-hello, everyone." she greeted, her tone soft as she walked into the warm, welcoming room.

"'Zuba! Hi!" called Lirona from her chair, sitting up for a moment before the added weight in her stomach made her reconsider the decision. Instead she settled back down, sending the woman a warm smile nonetheless. Despite the bluster around her, she was content to sit in her comfortable chair, watching whatever was on television and listening to the chatter and seasonal warmth of the people around her, her family.
Fitzroy was sitting at the table playing Go Fish with Silas when Azubahiel entered, and he shot the woman and her children a warm smile over his shoulder. He laughed at the antics of the snake and the little shadow, but then he was quick to turn back to the game. He knew that if Zuba was here, that meant - perhaps - that Adelle would be coming by, and he... he didn't want that. He didn't even want to think about that. So instead he hunched his shoulders and continued on with his game, hiding his nervousness under a warm smile. "Got any threes?"
"No. Give me all your fives." Silas smirked as Fitzroy grumbled and handed a card over, enjoying confusing the tweenager with his prowess. Instead of him, he stood up to greet the other parts of his extended family, a rare smile on his face. "Hello, you three. Happy Thanksgiving. Come on in, the food... should be getting its way towards done." On that note, he walked over towards the kitchen and called into it. "Hey chefs! Can I get an ETA on when dinner's going to be ready? More mouths are piling in!"

Adhara, considering their co-habitation, entered the room along with 'Zuba, carrying a few other plates that she'd helped her girlfriend with. She laughed along with quite a few other people at the excitement of the children, smiling and waving with a spare hand. There was definitely a benefit to the tentacles; made it much easier to carry in groceries, and carry food to family get-togethers. "Hey there, all~ Nice t'see you again."
From Fitzroy's lap, Demetre squealed happily at all of the sudden commotion, tackling onto Fitzroy's arm and wiggling around happily. Opening her mouth, she latched her gums onto Fitzroy's sleeve happily as Silas moved away, glad to have the big green boy and his tummy mouth all to herself now. After all, Pacman drooled almost as much as she did!!
Aludra was the one who came out of the kitchen, Noah too busy balancing a dozen and a half different things in his arms and on the counter. Aludra himself looked like a natural stereotype, wearing an oven mitt on one hand, a surprisingly frilly pink apron, and a poofy chef's hat over his braided hair. He smiled at the newcomers, waving as he pulled off the mitten, wiping down his hands with a wet rag. Looking to Silas, he shrugged his shoulders, thinking a moment.
"We're not completely positive at this point, it is a bit of a mess in the kitchen. As soon as we have everything prepared, however, it should be about another hour at the absolute most? We'll likely start before then, as well. Now if you'll excuse me a moment..." Aludra stated idly as he sashayed across the floor and draped an arm across Lira's shoulders, other hand lifting her chin so he could press a kiss to her lips.
