Hiram prowled the deepest parts of the woods, searching for prey, he was incredibly hungry and couldn't stand the rumbling in his stomach anymore. His vision was beginning to get blurry, but the smell of deer caught his attention. Every muscle in his body tensed. The calm before the storm. Hiram was waiting for the deer to come closer, it was currently moving in from the east. When it was close enough, and hadn't yet noticed Hiram, he made his move. The ferocious hunger turned into vigor as Hiram made quick work of the deer's throat, tearing into the venison.

Gugmin walked through the dense forest in a trance. She walked forward calmly though her eyes were not focused on the path before her but the leaves overhead. Light shined through the broken branches and formed images through tricks of light.
"Yes... yes..." She spoke softly. Today she would meet another Ikal. It was not a day to follow her routines at her small home. No cleaning her den. No dusting the cloths she has. Today she would meet someone new. But that was all the universe told her... for the moment at least.
Follow the light and she would be brought upon his path. She truly had no idea where she was going, venturing farther out than she was normally told to. The deep forest held no reason for her to venture into. No special food she could find elsewhere. Or water. No, her journey was for one reason, for someone she has yet to meet.

Now that he had eaten, Hiram was in completely different mood. When Hiram is outside of combat, he is shy and rather introverted, but when he is in combat, Hiram becomes cold and calculating. Often he asks for forgiveness, but from who he's not sure yet. Really Hiram has been alone his whole life, looking for a cause, something to rally behind. Something to be apart of. Sniffing the air quickly, he noticed the smell of another of his kind. Hiram shrank back slightly.... this could be trouble. "Hello...." Hiram called out, his spines were rigid now.

Then there was silence. The universe left her to fend for herself. She clicked her tongue, wondering what would happen today. It was certainly her duty to find out why she had been sent out so far to meet this Ikal. Undoubtedly it'll be worth her time.
She raised her brows ever so slightly in shock as he broke the silence with his greeting. How curious... It was not often that she saw another Ikal. Especially a male. He was a male right? She looked at his body to check, a haze over her eyes as she patiently took in his details. Gugmin decided it was safe to assume that he was, in fact, a male.
"Hello." Gugmin said as she slightly crooked her neck in wonder; this was quiet curious, she might need to interact with more Ikal. She was so ignorant, and it irked her. "May what the Universe see in you be bright," she greeted the stranger giving him a warm yet suspicious smile.

Hiram was an introspective Ikal, who constantly was pondering the meaning of life, and the structure of life. Lately he was considering the purpose of packs, why they exist, and that sort of thing. Socializing was never his cup of tea, and so Hiram had no clue how to respond to Gugmin's odd greeting. A smile grew across his face as well, and he nudged his kill towards her, offering a portion.

How curious. The seer looked down at the dead animal and gave it an empty stare. What was she supposed to do with it? Gugmin's face bore a grim expression as she thought of all the possible things she could do with the deer. It wasn't an animal she often saw since she lived off of small game such as rabbits and vole. It was far too much to eat. Was it normal for males to eat so much? How curious.
So Gugmin stood, with a curious and slightly angry face, staring at the carcass. She didn't seem to know what to do.

Hiram was slightly taken aback by Gugmin's unintentional social folly. It is considered incredibly kind among Ikal as far as Hiram knew that offering to share a kill is a kind gesture. Even Hiram who was socially awkward himself knew that. Saddened the spurned Ikal turned to leave, Hiram had already eaten fill of the kill, and was uncomfortable in the current situation.

"Why are you leaving?" Gugmin spoke out and went to follow him, walking over the body that was placed before her. "I haven't learned anything from you yet. The Universe has yet to show me it's blessing."
She walked in front of him to cut him from his path. "I dedicated my entire day to you. You should be honored."

Hiram was still berated, but he paused to look the creature in front of him over. "To begin, let me to teach you that refusing an offered kill is rude," he offered just above a whisper to Gugmin. His reserved demeanor was not given towards loud speech.

"An offered kill?" Gugmin spoke, tasting the word on her lips. "You mean that half eaten deer? Surely you don't mean to offer that to me; you seem to be in much more dire need of a meal than I."
The muscles in her neck strained as her entire body stretched forward, listening to an invisible noise. "You were hungry for a long time. Starving almost, no? Surprising; being able to catch such a large game when you are at your weakest. Almost... supernatural."
She only looked at him with examining eyes. Rarely if ever would an Ikal be able to out run a swift deer. Even if they were not normal wolves it was strange. The Ikal before her was very, very interesting.

Hiram was taken aback, his back legs moved back, and his front legs followed. Gugmin's eyes were piercing, Hiram felt...naked. "I'm not your average pack Ikal, I don't think you are either... are you?" He questioned carefully.

"I don't know. Am I suppose to be?" Gugmin muttered. She followed him as he stepped back and she looked deeply into his eyes. "What do you think I am exactly?"
What was his history? What was his past? Did he have another that he cared for? Enemies? The Universe was silent. She was alone. Was she supposed to be brave in this position? Did she even feel fear? Worry?
Gugmin exhaled sharply and stepped away. Too many questions.

Hiram's timid personality wouldn't allow him to follow her when Gugmin eventually stepped back from him. Instead, he simply shrugged and said, "typically Ikal tend to be pack-oriented creatures, so yes, you are, and I am too I suppose." Hiram's gaze became very distant as he pondered his reasoning for never joining a pack. Alone since "birth", Hiram learned to fend for himself, and he tended to avoid other Ikal. "I just go where the wind takes me," he decided, a fitting self-description.

"Then we are similar?" She wasn't looking at him; her back to his front. Her eyes were done with him, the foreign soil needed to be looked at. It was darker than the soil near her home. "There is a lot of uncertainty with following the wind. Yet not..."
She looked at him from the side of her eye. "Do you ever worry what the Universe's plan is for you?"

Hiram shrugged because he had never truly thought what his true calling would be, or what plan he was created to be used as a pawn to accomplish. "I never worry. I just do what I believe is right." Hiram was guided by his own inner moral compass, and wouldn't be swayed from true north so to speak. If he was ever to receive a moniker, it should be the Quiet Storm.
