Crickle-crack. Crick crick. Crack.
How that delicious sound sent shivers down Croatoan's spine as he trotted through the woods, letting the dry leaves and dead branches crackle under his hooves. Tonight would be an interesting night, as every night was for the glowing stallion. Like a beacon in the night, he drew the strange and unusual to him, so he liked to imagine, and knew that, should he continue in this direction through the woods, something interesting was bound to happen.

Taja walked a long the broken and beaten path in the dark and creepy forest. All things evil and unfriendly lived within it's walls. Well... almost all things evil and unfriendly. For example, she was neither and she lived in the forest. Sure, she could act like all the other's, but deep down it caused her heart more pain then it was worth. Taja had become so consumed in her thoughts she hadn't realized sooner that there was a odd looking creature coming down the path from the opposite direction. "Uhmm... Hello." She said, unsure if the creature would even be able to communicate with her. She had never seen another Soquili with a tail like this one, or horns like it either.

Croatoan grinned, making him even creepier than usual, the corners of his mouth stretching back toward his ears. "Why, hellooooo there, little filly. Are you lost in these big, bad woods?" Interesting, indeed. He looked the mare over with curiosity.

Taja smiled tentatively at the odd creature. "No I am not lost. In fact a live not to far away in these woods." She said with a emotionless tone. Taja had never seen a creature with giant 'sticks' coming out of it's head or a tail that short before. "What exactly are you?" She asked as she stepped closer to the stallion.

"I am a mystery, my lovely," the stallion chuckled lowly, "A whisper on the wind." He flicked his short, fluffy tail. "We are called cerynei and I am known as the Croatoan." He tossed his long, black hair about dramatically, his glowing antlers tracing a path of light in the air. "And what be your name, pretty lass?"

"My name is Taja... And it is very nice to meet you Croatoan." She replied wistfully. Taja had never met a Cerynei before, and she was beyond exstatic! As she stood there she became less and less aware of the dangers that were around her until finally she was completely at peace. "Why do you live within this dark forest?" She asked with a friendly smile.
