Was this really what the gods had wanted? Somehow he doubted it.
For now though, he had to focus on his prayers. Perhaps if he asked he would be gifted with a revelation.

She pondered going to the riverbank, and fishing. Fish were yummy! She liked fish. She could catch some. Yes, she would do that.
As he prayed he made a point of asking the gods what it was they wanted him to do about her. It seemed, after all, strange that a traveller would be so important to earn their very own dream.
He paused. Gods? Travellers? Wasn't there a few stories about gods travelling the earth in physical form? Gods who would curse the creatures who were rude to them?
He swollowed hard and got up to make his way back to the boarders.
The very last thing he wanted was to lay a curse on his entire tribe through his ignorance!
Ayomide trotted down to the bank of the river and looked for a good spot to fish, her orange tail flashing as she moved. She wasn't really paying much attention to who might be on the other side of the bank. She just wanted fish.
After a minute, she said "AHAH!" As she found a spot where she could lay on a rock and dip her paws in to attempt to snatch fish up. "Perfect! Fish Dinner, here I come!"
He casually walked to the edge of the village, out far enough so they wouldn't be able to see him bolt the rest of the way.
Please let her be there. Please let her not be a god. Please let him not screw up and PLEASE don't let a curse be layed upon the tribe.
He ran all the way back to the rock and then jumped on top, trying to see across the river.

There she was! She was still there, oh gods, this was surely his lucky day! He jumped down off the rock and hurried over to the river bed.
He wasn't running now. The sprint from his praying spot had tired him out and she was still on the other side of the river.
Without a moment of hesitation he jumped in and started swimming across. It hadn't occurred to him that she was hunting and might not appreciate someone scaring all the fish away.
She was just about to dart her paw into the water when the splash startled her, and the fish. "Fiiiiish! Awww fishes! Come back, darn it!" She sighed, and looked up, to see what had caused the splash.
When she saw him, she didn't look mad. She recognized him right away... That blue was memorable... But she looked resigned. In her mind, if he was coming, it meant she had to leave, surely. For the only reason she could think that he was coming was to say his tribe told him to send her on her way.
She sighed and moved into the sphinx position, to await him.
He made it to the other side of the river, pausing to shake himself off at the other side and taking a moment longer to make sure he was presentable before going to face her.
There she was, sitting there all calm and regal like.
He was screwed, wasn't he.
"May I.... May I ask you something?"
She blinked a little. Well it didn't SOUND like he was going to tell her to leave. That certainly wasn't the begining to an order as she knew it. She tilted her head, looking at him curiously.
"Um. Well all right? I'll do my best to assist you with your question, if I can?" She had no idea what he could want to ask her, these were his lands, he knew the area, not her... She was truly confused.
"Well... Mam. You see, I had a vision about you're arival. I was not out on that rock because I was meditating- I mean. It is not my regular place to meditate," he paused, then took a deep breath and sat down.
"Forgive me. I have been thinking far too much this morning. You see, I foresaw your arrival..."
Ayomide attempted to follow what he was saying, but she looked more confused as he went. For one thing, she didn't hear a question in this. Not yet anyways.
"A... you foresaw my arrival? Really?" She didn't sound doubtful, just surprised anyone would send a dream about her, or get one either. "Ok... so..?" She waited for the question.
"But see, forgive me, but I don't understand what about your arival is so important for the gods to send me a dream..."
He raised his head and looked up at her, "So I started wondering... Are you a god?"
Ayomide followed his words to a certain point... then the question hit and she just stared at him. A... god? Was she a GOD? She had no idea of how respond to this. Finally, after a long moment of stunned staring, she replied.
"Me? A god? Not that I knew of! If I am, no one told ME. I really don't think I am, certainly." She blinked at him, baffled at the idea.
Upon hearing this he relaxed visibly, "Oh. Oh good. I was beginning to get worried that I had failed to be hospitable to a god and brought doom upon us all!"
What he was saying was dramatic enough but his tone was dead serious. He wasn't joking around.
He really had been worried about this issue. Seriously worried. She didn't really know what to make of that. After a moment she said "Well no worries. I am no one to be scared of that I can think of. Maybe fish, perhaps, should be afraid, for I intend to have some for dinner... And would you care to join me, should they return and I catch some?" It occurred to her to invite him since he had made the trip here. He probably was a bit tired.
"If they come back, I can usually catch a few, I should be able to catch enough for two. And fish are delicious."
