Caoimhe was nervous. She was taking her intended to meet the stallion she served. Vlad had insisted on meeting Amitiel. Saying that he wanted to meet the angeni that was courting her to see if he would be a proper guardian and if he was honest.
Amitiel hadn't said anything since she'd told him. The gentle white mare was officially worried. He was probably upset with her. She couldn't really blame him though if he was. She couldn't do anything about it now. What was done was done.

Vladislav Draculesti's tail twitched in irritation. He wasn't looking forward to the meeting he was going to have that evening. He wasn't looking forward to it because he had the strong suspicion it would end in him losing Caiomhe to another stallion. She was no mate of his, only a servant, but Vlad had never been very good at letting go of people. Once someone was his he liked them to stay his. He had enjoyed Caiomhe for her service, her company, and for her beautiful looks. Losing her to another stallion grated on his nerves.
"Master," whispered his familiar. The bat Iancu flapped around his head. "Why do you let her leave at all? Drive the stallion off. Keep her for yourself!"
They conversed in Romanian. Vlad didn't even know whether the bat could speak any of the native language. He suspected that Iancu had picked some up but was too prideful of his home country to admit it. "I will recall your suggestion," he stated simply.
He could make out silhouettes in the gathering darkness ahead of him. That would probably be the two of them.(and I suppose our posting order can be Yuuka-Me-Sya!)

((Sounds good to me Ron =D)) Amitiel was stunned. To find out that the mare he had grown to like served another as their servant was grating on his nerves. Why would someone as elegant and beautiful as her do such a thing? Caoimhe spoke very highly of her master, a stallion called Vlad by all accounts. The truth was Amitiel didn't know what to think or feel. Did Caoimhe have feelings for her master? Was this some kind of initiation? Or was it more a chance to meet someone who was important to her? He didn't know... and when Amitiel didn't know something he remained silent. Truth left his lips whenever he spoke and he was sure he would voice his fears without the intention of sharing them if he allowed words to fall forth. No, he would remain silent on the matter... for now at least. Amitiel recalled instead the day of the skinwalker attack, afterwards Caoimhe had enjoyed the gifts and feasts of red he had produced for her... before he had asked her for permission to court her. The fact was that Amitiel didn't ever simply believe that a mare was his for tha taking simply because they 'liked him', no... for the one that would become his mate he wanted more. Shared love, a bond formed strong through their time together. And Amitiel was willing to wait and work for that bond, for that right.... even if it meant walking into hell itself. He could sence Caoimhe's nerves beside and part of him longed to comfort her, to tell her it would be ok.... but the truth was, Amitiel didn't know. Instead he said; "It appears we are close....." The path before them was changing.

Caoimhe sighed softly and nodded. He was right, they were getting closer. She had tried her best to explain that all she did was keep Vlad safe as he slept, because this were true. She had refused to be a blood donor because she wanted to be unmarked whenever she was courted and eventually became a mate.
She didn't love Vlad, the only feelings she had toward the dark stallion was duty. If there were any faults with this mare it was that she believed in keeping her word. In this case, it might be the end of her budding relationship, but Amitiel had a right to know. Calling out, she let Vlad know they had arrived. "My lord? It's Caoimhe, I've done as you asked and brought my intended." Yes, intended, but who knew for how long after this?

Vlad emerged out of the shadows, an immense bulk of wings, fangs, and tail. His tail dragged slightly from the weight of the chains attached to it on the ground. It gave him a serpentine appearance, one that added nicely to his demeanor. His mood was similarly dark. His eyes slid from Caiomhe, a familiar sight, to the stranger angeni at her side. An angeni. Had she mentioned that her love was an angeni? Vlad couldn't recall.
As he examined the angeni, Iancu flapped out from behind him and flew a twisting path toward the two other soquili. The bat swirled around the angeni once in examination before returning to his usual circuit of circling Vlad. "Beware the angeni, master." Iancu whispered in Romanian. "He looks strong."
Vlad didn't respond to his familiar. Instead he spoke. "Greetings, Caiomhe and companion. I am Vladislav Draculesti." He glanced at the angeni and decided to get straight to the point. "I have heard that you vill take one of my servants avay."

My lord. The way she said it sent a shiver down his spine, it wasn't that he had a problem with her aiding another... but this seemed, wrong, against nature. Why was it that her 'Lord' needed to be protected in the day? He had met many noctural creatures before but none had needed such a guard during in the day... was it possible he couldn't go out in the sun? It was a sad thought indeed.
Amitiels eyes darted to the bat that flapped its way around him before speaking in a language he didn't know, he thought he heard the word 'Angeni' but he couldn't be sure.
"My name is Amitiel. A pleasure I'm sure, Vladislav." He was sure he had pronounced it wrong but that was the least of his concerns, there was an accent to the stallions voice that Amitiel couldn't place. Yet, despite it all Amitiel felt himself more appauled at the idea that he had any power of the mare at his side. He may not like it, but he would never force her to do or not do something she wanted. He feared that doing so would make her less Caoimhe.... and Amitiel really did like Caoimhe just the way she was. The fact that protected this creature of Angeni and Kalona blood spoke volumes for her personality and strength. Perhaps Amitiel just needed to understand the sitiuation more?
Finally he answered the creatures question about Caoimhe, sometimes it was annoying that he couldn't speak a lie... but at times like this he was almost glad he couldn't. He hadn't scented a lie yet... but it wasn't as if much conversation had been had. "I have no intention to take or do anything to Caoimhe that she does not will. It is not my place to force my will upon her." No... despite his own feelings of the situation he could never do that to her, it would be a great insult to the ray of sunshine beside him. Amitiel turned and smiled at her, guilty for not having said more to her on the way here... especially since he had been able to tell she had been nervous.

Caoimhe was flustered, looking from one stallion to another. What was going on here? She eyed the familiar uneasily, knowing in her hear that he was speaking about one or both of them in his native language. Why did she have a sinking feeling that she was going to have to make a choice. Sadly it wasn't really even a choice.
Realizing she needed to speak up, the mare in question spoke in a soft, but sure voice to Vlad. "There is no taking me away. I became bound to serve you of my own free will and if I leave, it will be of my own free will. I willingly serve you my Lord, but there is another that holds a higher power than even you. That is my heart."
She had been facing Vlad, afraid to see Amitiel's face, "My heart has told me, you're the one I choose Amitiel. That is, if you still wish to court me." She added the last part shyly. She was fully aware that she had turned her attention from Vlad, but she needed to reassure Amitiel more at the moment. She wasn't sure if turning her back on her lord and master was exactly the smartest thing in the world, but hey, everyone does dumb things when they're in love.

Vlad could feel his bad mood deepening by the moment. Something about the interaction brought some of his old instincts to whispering life. What he really wanted to do was beat off the green angeni and sweep Caiomhe off... to take her as one of his wives instead of a mere servant... to delight in the taste of her blood...
And then the intention was gone, quick as a bat flying after a moth. It had been a long time since he'd actually beaten off a stallion to sweep their mare off for himself. No. He wasn't going to fall back into the usual habits of his family, as tempting as it might be to.
He stared disapprovingly between Caiomhe and her lover. Did she look at the angeni like that just to irritate him? Probably not, but it as irritating nonetheless. "If he does not vish to court you then he is an idiot who does not deserve anything you vould have to offer," he growled in response to Caimohe.
He looked sharply at Amitiel. "Is this your intention? To court her? Or are you one of those stallions who sveep mares off their hooves only to leave them vhen their lust is fulfilled? I vill not allow you to use one of my servants so, if that is your intention." He glowered at the angeni to put force behind his words.

Caoimhe's words took him by suprised. Her heart was about her master... and her heart had picked him? He was about to say something, reply in some way when the stallion drew his attention away from the delicate white mare of beauty and grace to himself... a monster of blood and darkness.
Amitiel saw something in the other stallions facial expersion and instinctly moved his wing to block Caoimhe from view. There was something his didn't like, something that seems wrong and out of place. Still Amitiel was doing his best to try and understand, for Caoimhe. It had meant a lot to her that he meet Vlad, so he would.... try.
Yet with the stallions words Amitiel felt as if his fur was being ruffled the wrong way. He felt a growl echo in his throat, it was out of character but he felt deeply offended at the idea that he would even contemplate taking Caoimhe away -despite his intentions. If Amitiel had been thinking straight he probably would have respected the stallion for his principles, mares needed to be protected, and only those of pure intentions could be trusted... still, to be on the recieving end of such a watchful critism was insulting.
After all, Amitiel was the Angeni of truth. Had he not wanted to court Caoimhe he could never have asked her, had he not wanted to still he wouldn't have been allowed to join her here. Quiet journey or not the truth wrung through his every action and inaction. Silence was his own sanctuary.
Frustration was a beast hard to control now, still... he would not let it control him any more than his fear; not fear of Vlad per say, but the fear that he would have some power of Caoimhe. To force her out of their courtship. He was very aware that NOW was the time for an answer, and that answer would change the very course of his life.
He stood tall, shifting position slightly so he was closer but more forward of Caoimhe -an Angeni shield- he spoke with confidence, each word ringing with truth. He sent his power into it, making both of them able to hear the very fundamental truth of each of them. It would give away his domain but it was... needed. He only regretted not having time to tell Caoimhe about it earlier. "I have chosen Caoimhe, before and after my knowlegde of you. You have not changed my mind nor my intent...." He turned to look at her; "I will not force your path or your heart.... but I do not say things lightly. I picked you the moment I first met you, sitting on that legde awaiting the sun to rise.... and for the first time it was as if the very sun of my life was rising for the first time. You are the reason I have felt the compulsion to watch every sun rise and sun set. I was looking for you." He paused, fighting a blush that threatened to consume his cheeks. He had never been so open... and do so in front of Vlad felt wrong... but needed. "So I will ask you again, gentle and beautiful Caoimhe... may I court you?"

Caoimhe looked startled momentarily as Amitiel's wing came up in front of her. What on earth was going on? She tried to peer around the green angeni to see what was happening. For a brief moment, she could see Vlad's disapproving glare which made her shrink back behind Amitiel.
She began to blush as the angeni she was falling for began to speak. She felt compelled to listen and somehow knew that whatever he was saying was the truth. She listened silently, the blush spreading quickly with every word he spoke. When he was finished she was already nodding her agreement.
"Yes! Yes you may court me dear Amitiel. I couldn't see how anyone could say no to such a wonderful declaration." She smiled up at him shyly, her pelt kissed pink by the blushing. Her heart soared after he finished his declaration. Happy and quite forgetting where she was, Caoimhe took a step closer so that she could gently nudge his shoulder affectionately.

By this point, Vlad knew his servant well. He knew that when Caiomhe looked at the stallion that she was looking at him with adoration. Seeing that gave him pause. He felt a quiet stab of envy while he watched the look on her face. He had felt that once. He had that felt for him once. His love was over while theirs was only beginning. He doubted they realized how lucky they were.
But he didn't know this strange stallion and didn't know if he felt the same way back. Vlad had known many stallions to mislead a mare's affections. He had done it himself in his youth. Any softness that was in his expression disappeared again instantly. Angeni were no exception. They could be just as false and treacherous as any other breed. He had to test the stallion. It was the only way. That called for a little deception of his own... but sometimes deceptions was necessary.
Using an ominous gesture he had long since perfected, Vlad spread all four of his wings wide. They unfolded around him and shaded him from what little light there was left. His apparent increase in size was phenomenal. From the shadow cast by his wings, his red eyes glittered and the runes on his horns seemed to glow with a demonic light. The silver of his cross glinted brightly, a lone star in the blackness of the night.
"I vill not let you take her," he growled at Amitiel in a threatening and dangerous rumble. "I vill kill you before I see her vith another stallion. Run avay now and save your life, or lose it quickly."

Caoimhe's declaration floored him.... he would definatly have to make up for his quiet treatment of her over the past few days when they were alone. He smiled, only turning his attention away from her when her master spoke once more.
Again he felt his anger bubble against his normally soft and quiet nature.... the way this stallion spoke to him and of Caoimhe grated on his last nerve and to be frank frustrated the crap out of Amitiel. He would not run... what did Vlad think he was? A coward? He had never run before and now was not the time to start, especially since Caoimhe had chosen him!
He tried to readjust his pose so he was protecting Caoimhe from the monsterly form that was her master. "That is not for you to decide. Only Caoimhe dismissing me will make me leave." He all but growled the words out.

Caoimhe looked at Vlad, her wings flaring at the audacity of it all. How dare he! Just because she was his servant didn't mean he had the right to dictate who she could and couldn't be with. She moved around the body of her suitor and brought the full force of her glare on her master.
"HOW DARE YOU! HOW DARE YOU THINK YOU HAVE ANY RIGHT TO DICTATE MY LIFE! THIS IS MY CHOICE, NOT YOURS AND I CHOOSE HIM!" The white mare was livid as she stomped forward towards the black mutant stallion. Her voice dropped to it's normal level as she looked him in the eye, "Consider this my resignation. You have no power over me and no right to make any demands on my social life." She turned her back on him and headed back towards Amitiel. Maybe that hadn't her best idea, but it had gotten her point across she was sure.

Vlad had always been a creature of sudden reactions and mood changes and this moment was one of them. His head drew back in shock at being yelled at. He had never known Caiomhe to even raise her voice and now she was yelling? At him? He was utterly stunned that such a delicate creature as she was could come out with something like that. He was shocked... and utterly delighted.
He threw back his head with sudden raucous laughter. The bats swirling around him exploded away from him in surprise at the noise and even Iancu flapped to cling to a branch momentarily.
Vlad continued to laugh though he brought his head back down to look at Caiomhe, to admire the beautiful back of her head that she showed him. "How delightful that I can live so long and still be surprised. I thought that you vere a flower and I find that you are a sword."
His focus snapped suddenly to Amitiel as he stood there, so protective of his damsel. The smirk that Vlad flashed at the angeni was the smile of a predator, full of sharp teeth and promises of danger. "And you... do you believe yourself to be vorthy of such a mare as she? For you do not deserve her if you are anything but the most vorthy of stallions."
