The forest, home, birth place, sanctuary, so many names and yet it was none to a strange mare. Hopping from log to large rock and log again, her earthy tones letting her blend into her surroundings, kinda. Though that fiery mop of hair stuck out against the greens and dark browns, sharp purple eyes looking in no direction in particular. In a way one would think of her as a foal, maybe she was to heart. But as all four hooves came to solid ground, her rump soon following. Zera Saffron wasn't the most cleaver looking of mares, picking herself off the ground and shaking the dirt from her long tail.
"This place is no fun, no one around and nothing for that matter." She pouted watching the branches and shadows for a possible target. Finding nothing she gave a 'harumph'. Shaking out that short mane of hers, Zera picked her way through the trees with white socked hooves. Eyes growing narrow, she nearly ran into something or someone that happened to be hidden in her blind spot, right under her nose.

Deep in the forest, a large mutant of stallion enjoyed his company, that company being the surrounding foliage around him. The stallion stood among a shrub, vines, and some thorny vines. His ears would twitch every so often as he listen to their voices, and he would nod his head in response to the conversation. Some of the plants complained about the carelessness of some animals and how they would pick on them because they were seen as lesser beings, while other plants spoke of their own beauty in comparison to other plants of a different species. The stallion kept himself amused with his company, and would be amused when his own "babies" would respond to the idle chatter of the plants.
The stallion heard a voice, something that was not like the voices of the plants in his head. It registered in a different part of his brain. His brows furrowed together to see someone coming at him, and quite unaware as well. A frown was placed on his mouth as he sidestepped the mare to prevent her running into him. The plants quieted around him, and he felt the tense silence in the air due to the presence of the are.
