I've subscribed myself to the No More Dirty Looks blog and it's really interesting.

Today they've posted a bit on face mapping. Basically what you have on your face and where it is located corresponds with a malfunction with an organ.

Here's the site they link to: here

I think it's really interesting. Mine match up pretty well. A while back I went to a Chinese practitioner and he could tell a lot about me by just looking at me. It was very unnerving because he was ridiculously accurate. None of my problems would be apparent (or so I thought) by just looking at me.

Also from No More Dirty Looks, but posted on Good.is: Why Daily Showers May Be Bad For You . Mouse over the image on the right to get to the next page.

I always knew there was bacteria and other fun bits on you all the time, but I never thought it would be beneficial. (Just neutral, hanging out, all casual like bacteria.) I don't take daily showers anymore. I've also nixed using cleanser on my face. I use just water now. I have a body brush that's detachable that I rub gently on my face. No more cream either - I use olive oil. That's it. And, I have to say, I have seen an improvement in both the look at the feel of my skin. When I shower now, I don't feel the cream washing away which was kinda gross. My skin isn't dry, it doesn't flake, it just is.

I do spot treatments still though. I bought from Thera Wise before, and saw their Ac+ Natural Acne Ointment. I didn't really pay much attention to the box and bought it. I took a look at their website afterwards and saw this:

Quote:
As opposed to most chemicals treatments (dermabrasion, chemical peels, benzoyl peroxide (BP), salicylic acid and corticosteroids) that compromise the integrity of the skins natural defenses, Ac+ uses a methodology that balances the skins ecoflora and activates the macrophage cells that are responsible for the skins immunologic response. The ecoflora is a major factor in protecting the skin against the colonisation of undesirable pat hogenic bacteria.

I love it when stuff works like that - I stop using gunk of my face, I read about how there's good bacteria on your face and then I purchase something that helps that bacteria without even knowing. Cool!

Has anyone hear heard about the book or blog No More Dirty Looks? Have you thought about, or are changing your skin routine? Thoughts on going bare with just olive oil for moisturizer?

I wonder what it says about black heads? They're not exactly pimples, but I have blackheads almost everywhere, unfortunately. It's an embarrasing thing to admit, but I've tried everything really - no soap, not washing as hard, less frequently, more frequently... nothing helps that. It's just genetic for me.
While I have occasional breakouts on my face nowadays, (either caused by my own hormones or hormones in my diet), I wouldn't say any really correspond to a particular organ. My lungs, spleen and liver are doing fine so far as I know. xP

A natural way to get those blackheads off your face, Ukir (as well as draw out oils and dirt) is to make your own "pore strips."

1. Take a table spoon of flavorless gelatin and milk.
2. Mix it until it's a bit gunky into a microwavalbe container.
3. Then, put it into the microwave for about 10 seconds.
4. When warm (not hot- let it cool so it doesn't burn you), take an eyeshadow brush or something similar and apply the gelatin-milk mix wherever you want the cleansing effect.
5. Wait until the stuff is dry; usually only about 10 min.
6. Peel it off and look at the crap it pulled off of your face!

I use this every two days with plain washing in between- my skin is smoother and clearer, and I like that it's easy to make and inexpensive heart
If you look on Youtube, Michelle Phan has a video on this and other skin-improving stuff. Hope it helps!

The idea of using gelatin and milk on my face sounds kinda gross. sweatdrop I used to be, and still have preferences of a vegan, so I'm not quite sure if I'd want to do that.
Pore strips didn't ever help me either, incidentally.

I made homemade poor strips using egg white (still not vegan, I know) instead of milk and gelatin, but those didn't work either. Even the commercial Biore never worked for my nose. have large pores there and they tend to get gunked up.

I think egg's a bit better because some home farms don't kill the chickens, and it's also not gelatin. lol
But if it doesn't work anyway...

I have to try the pore strips. Been blowing my nose....

I don't know about the face-mapping, but checking your pupils really is a good idea. I used to have lots of little amber spots in my turquoise eyes, which were pretty, but I knew they didn't belong there. When I dropped dairy from my diet, they disappeared, along with sinus congestion. Now I check them every day when I put on mascara.

I have black heads and white cyst things too. I just squeeze them with my fingers. It works for me because they're tiny and hard little buggers so they're really easy to get out. (That is if they're not in some awkward place like under my ear.)

I used the Biore pore strips when they first came out. First two or three times they worked really well and it was really icky but cool to see what pulled off of my nose. After the third time they didn't work and that was that.

(I'll look for more links, but eyes creep me out, so it's just one link for now.)

Holy crap, I have a TON of acne all over my face! D:

I'll have to look into some of the tips and all to try to fix some stuff! :O

Thanks for the link, Pirhan! Eyes don't generally creep me out, but after looking at the charts, I can see how they could lead to some unsettling dreams. (Not eyes, but the charts.) I'm forwarding the link to the kids. They have links to all the old diagnostic methods, and we even use this stuff to help our pets.

As for skin, guys, it really is like anything else---garbage in, garbage out.

When I was in those breakout years, the most helpful thing for me was just to let the water from the shower beat on my face for about 10 minutes a couple of times a day, then scrub with a washcloth. Gentle exfoliation and hydration just seemed to work for for me.

have you tried strawberries??? eating three a day and cutting the tip off to rubb the juices on your face leave it on for 20 mins, will deblemish your face.

alternately one can exisirsie to sweat. just dont forget a galon clean water and a pintch of salt a day so you dont suffer imbalence.

detox, as acne and such come the inside out. so work on inner organ detox as the body sweats it out but if you fail to sweat enough then it stays in, the placement of blemishes are hints as to what parts are detoxed so nutrition for say nasel at the nose will make nose health better

and remember skin, eye brain blood central nervious health are all mirrors of health and are defintly to me the most imporant things in all around health

while none are silver bullets. together they work wonders

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet, but witch hazel toner seems to work very well in preventing acne. I'm especially prone to break outs during times of stress but the toner seems to keep it relatively in check.

I use the Thayers brand with rose.
