User Image She'd spent the beter part of the morning chasing after small game. Mice and the occasional frog. She'd even managed to catch one around lunch. That made her quite proud. Normaly all she could catch were the half dead morcels her mother brought home. Late in the day when the sun was reaching toward the horizon Kar'Mah had found a warm rock to streach out on so she could enjoy those last rays.

It felt great. She figured she could do this every day and never get bored.

User Image Ayomide was trotting down along, her bright tail held high, her head up. She swiveled her head side to side as she went, looking eager and interested. She wasn't going so fast at the moment, so that she could enjoy the scenery. She generally took it slow, to enjoy the view. The sun was warm on her as she moved, and she was utterly comfortable. "Ahhhhhhh this IS the life."

Kar'Mah lifted her head and stared out across the savanah. From experiance she knew she'd be hard to spot if she stayed still on the rock. At least so long as the other wasn't looking for her. When she noticed that it was another cheetah moving through the tall grass she tilted her head. Last time she'd seen a cheetah which she wasn't related too she'd tagged it as a threat and attacked him with her brother.

Maybe this one was nicer?

Ayomide stretched out happily, and looks around, then decides to sit. "Mmm dust on my face..." She lifted one paw and begins to bathe her face carefully, getting it clean. "It's such a nice day!" She says to herself, though speaking aloud, thinking she was alone. "Nothin' bad goin' on, just a lovely bright day... Wonderful."

Yeah. She seemed harmless. Kar'mah giggled, "You're pretty, miss!" She really was. Her coat matched the setting sun almost perfectly.

Ayomide's head bounced up, startled. "UH? Oh! Hello there!" She beamed at the younger female and stood, to slowly approach, in a friendly fashion. "Why thank you. You're quite lovely yourself." She looked the girl over, a smile on her gentle face. "My name is Ayomide, lass. What is yours?"

"I'm Kar'Mah!" she beamed. No one had ever called her lovely before. Then again she'd only really had her brothers and she'd always insisted on being treated as one of them. She'd been strong, brave, and fast... but never lovely. Maybe it was her soft and feminine voice but this new cheetah really did seem nicer.

Ayomide smiled at Kar'Mah, glad to see such a cheerful young lady. "It's a pleasure, Kar'Mah." She settled into a seating position were she could see the girl. "What brings you out here on your own? This your sunning spot?"

"Guess so!" she wasn't really sure what Ayomide meant by sunning spot... but she was enjoying the sun here, right? Maybe that's all it meant. "What about you? I didn't take you're rock, did I?"

"Not at all! Indeed, I was thinking it was yours, where you sunned daily. But no matter. I'm here because I was traveling... I do that a lot. I like traveling, exploring new places and making new friends." She stretched her shoulders as she sat.

"Oh!" she got up, sitting in a way that mimiced the older cheetah. "I like making new friends too!" or rather, she probably did. She'd never really had the oppertunity before. "Can I be your friend?" she asked.

Ayomide blinked and smiled at her. "Of course. I'd be happy to be your friend, Kar'Mah." She was quite happy to meet the young lady, she was quite a delightful youngling. "It's an honor."

Oh! Oh! This one she knew! She was a prince after all! "It's an honor!" she parroted, making a small bow. She was beaming as she sat back down. "If you like traveling does that mean you're not from around here?"

Ayomide blinked at the bow, in surprise, then focused on the question. "Oh no... I'm..." She paused, working on the phrasing. It was always hard to find the right way to say this. "I'm not exactly from anywhere, really..."

"You hafta be from somewhere," she insisted. "You had to be born somewhere! And even if you never stopped walking since then that's still where you're from," she nodded. She looked confidant at first but then faltered. "Then again I can't remember much from when I was real little... and you're old! Did you forget?"

Ayomide blinked a bit. "I'm not old... But I don't remember that far back, no. My mother was a traveler too, I don't remember ever NOT traveling... So I think of myself as 'not from anywhere' since I don't know where it was I was born..."

"I see," she nodded with the false face of wisdom children sometimes show. "You can be from here if you want. I don't mind."

Ayomide smiles at her. "Thank you. That is most kind, Kar'Mah." She pauses, then says "Is there a pool nearby? Or a stream? I find myself growing thirsty and I would appreciate water."

"Yeah," she said as she got to her feet. Once she was down off the rock she trotted off. "This way! There's a river closer to home. You can get a drink there!"

"Why thank you." She followed Kar'Mah in a relaxed fashion, noting the landmarks as she passed them with the carefree air of someone who mostly was appreciating scenery, but also noting things in case she needed to find something.
