Writing: This isn't a hobby so much as it is his job. Templeton is a full time writer for his publishing house and has been for many years. He's most well known for his erotic romance novels, but only because they're the easiest to sell and keep in long running series. His secret passion is detective novels, though he had yet to have any of them accepted for publishing. So, he continues with his day job and dabbles in his own interests at night. He enjoys being a writer and while not rich, he does amass plenty of living funds.
Gardening: Templeton is found of the outdoors, but loathes anything that involves strenuous activity in it. He has strictly confined himself to leisurely walks and tending his garden. He has no interest in vegetables much, but does enjoy reaping the benefits of having fresh herbs and fruit on hand at all time for making his herbal tea and preserves. He sells such things when they're in season, but while not making any kind of profit off them, he does like being able to share his gardening with his neighbors.
Informative Outings: This has to do with Templeton's job as a writer. When he's generating a new idea, he'll often go out and collect information, whether it be pictures of people and things or paper ideas jotted down in a cafe somewhere. He doesn't usually take huge outings when he's starting a story, but he'll sometimes take a trip to a new place if he's particular stumped for an idea.

P E R S O N A L I T Y Irritable: Templeton hates being bothered by people. Especially stupid people. He has no time for anyone if he doesn't feel like it. And when he doesn't feel like it, he'd sooner kick a person in the shins than actually stay still enough to listen to what they have to say. This makes Templeton out to be a very independent and stubborn person. He has convinced himself that he doesn't need anyone and that no one needs him. It's almost impossible to get him to do something he doesn't want to. He has to like someone very, very much to actually go out of his way for them. This doesn't mean he isn't kind. He just doesn't let his kindness for others inconvenience himself.
Feisty: Templeton is strongly determined in everything he does. He puts his whole heart things and never gives up. He hates it whenever anyone tells him the odds, because then he'll want to prove them wrong even if he knows he'll probably fail. He always likes to be at his best and this quality is probably what let to his impatience with people. He discovered that he can work and do more quickly if he's on his own. People only ever drag him down (at least in his opinion) and he rather not deal with that. Templeton is definitely not someone who works well with others and it takes time for him acclimate himself in that kind of situation.
Disenchanted:
Lonely: Deep, deep down in the inner depths of Templeton, he's secretly lonely. His indifferent personality doesn't attract many friends and the ones he does have are living their own lives and not needing him around (or at least he feels this way). What makes him angry is that he knows he's purposely isolating himself from others because he doesn't want to be hurt if they don't like him. He also knows that he could be a little more toned down, but why have friends if they don't know who you really are? So far, Templeton has kept to himself, to afraid to branch out and actually create relationships with others.
Giving: Templeton is perfectly willing to do for others, not begrudging them for it or expecting anything else in return. He's gracious to most everyone and tries to avoid fighting openly when possible and takes a more passive aggressive stance when he's truly pissed off. For the most part, Templeton could care less about someone when he's not emotionally invested in then which is part of the reason for his friendly nature. It's so much easier to be nice than mean since he doesn't believe in worrying about people or things that aren't going to have an impact on his life.

H I S T O R Y Templeton looks back on his life thus far and finds it to be exceedingly lacking in both excitement and interpersonal relationships. His childhood was as average as anyone else's and with no siblings, he grew up being left to his own devices by busy parents who were more interested in thier power jobs than their son. Templeton found solace in the quiet activities though and never found himself too unhappy with where life had put him. He'd started writing at an earlier age, first in the form of journals before moving on to more ambitious things like fanfiction. He continued writing throughout high school, usually in favor of having to deal with people.
Surprisingly enough, Templeton was published in a monthly magazine just as he graduated high school. He kept up the job through college, making enough money to be able to get his own apartment and pay his school bills. Again he found himself quietly plodding through life, not unhappy but not wholly happy either. With his degree came editors more willing to look over his work and soon enough Templeton was invested in publishing books series of the romance genre. At twenty nine, he continues of with his writing, finding his joy in the confines of books and his laptop. It never occurred to him that he was looking for something more in his life until that something fell right into his lap.
Purpose for a Pet The purpose of Mio in Templeton's life is to ease the loneliness that has been eating at him for years. Unable to forge close bonds, Templeton has all but isolated himself, merely going through the motions of his life. Nothing is new or different, yet he doesn't know what to do to change that. It was only until he found himself taking a different path home that things truly began to change. After that strange trip to the teashop, Templeton found his life turned upside down by his new pet.
Living Arrangements Templeton lives in the Teito area in a large, re purposed farm house. His publisher and found a good deal on the place for him and Templeton hurriedly snatched it up. The house is two stories with four bedrooms and three and a half bathroom. There's also a completely finished basement that he uses as his office and more often than not he can be found working away in his easy chair in front of the fire. For the most part, the second story bedrooms are only used for guests and storage...that is until Mio came along and was given full range of the top floor. Who knew an tiny owl needed so much space!
