For the past few days, no one had been able to ruin Nyx's good mood, not even the weekly meetings between herself, a few other scientists, Nadja, and Seth. Normally the goings on between the two elites would elicit horrible reactions from Nyx; Not too long ago she had smashed Allen's favorite coffee mug in an attempt to fool Miss Nadja into thinking something terrible had happened and away from the other elite.

No, Miss Nadja had gifted her with a wonderful responsibility, one in the form of a floating blue fetus-like pokemon, and he was proving to be a handful. The unfortunate thing, or the best thing depending on who you asked and on what day, was that clones were a blank slate. Newborn pokemon who had to be guided and trained and kept from killing themselves with naivety. Darwin, the aforementioned Mew, had taken a liking to licking windows and intense investigation of electrical sockets.

This evening Nyx was returning from one of the faux-mew's check-ups in the labs and was in the elevator when it stopped on the tech department's floor. Darwin stared with wide eyes as the doors slid open, and floated around in a circle before darting behind Nyx's hair and peeking out at the pokemon and human.

"Ah! Evening Faleen." Nyx smiled and stepped back into the corner of the elevator, making more room for the grunt and her pokemon. The blue critter turned upside down so that only it's bum and tail were visible in response to being stared at. It took the human a moment to notice that Faleen was staring. "Oh, yes. This is Darwin."

"Oh? He's a Mew." Nyx scooped the mew out from behind her head, it glided through the air, much like something would when being pushed through the water.
"Mww?" It squeaked as the hand touched it and remained upside down. He had yet to be socialized with very many people, and seemed unsure what to do.

"From what we know, they seem to remain this size. Which is fine with me. He's enough of a handful as it is, I don't want to know what trouble he could get into if he were larger." Nyx chuckled and looked up at the display that told them what floor they were on.

Darwin noticed something, while the humans were talking; There was something glowing on the wall. He floated over to a bit too quickly and bumped his head into a few of the buttons. "Mwff!" He backed up slightly and eyed the buttons with suspicion for half a second before he noticed that more than just the one was lit up now. "Mmmww mew!" The tiny blue thing let out a cry of glee before running his paws up and down every button, causing them all to glow.

"Well, the process of cloning is essentially the same as natural reproduction, save for all of the test tubes and such. Hayes' pokemon, and Darwin, are very young." Nyx nodded in a sagely way. "And yes, I am mostly in the cloning department.- Darwin, no. Stop that." She moved in and gently moved the pokemon away from the buttons, but not before they were set to make a stop on most every floor. "It doesn't help that mew are naturally curious pokemon."

Darwin did a lazy flip as he was pushed away and floated in the air with his head and tail sagging. "Mwwrrr... - Mew?" He looked at the other pokemon as it spoke to him and circled above it's head slowly. It was different from him. Maybe it would be less grumpy if he weren't. Darwin floated down onto the floor of the elevator and shimmered and glowed briefly before it's shape settled into that of a shiny Umbreon. "Breee~" The newly-transformed mew exclaimed with glee.

Darwin's ears lowered and he looked at the other Umbreon with large golden puppy-dog eyes. "Breeoon..." He whined and plopped onto his haunches. Darwin repeated, insisting that he was, in fact, like the other pokemon.

"I feel the same way, except that the technicalities of mechanics and computers escape me." Nyx looked away from Faleen and down at the two dark types, for transform truely did change the user's type to mimic the tranformee's type, and scratched her head. The transformation itself did not surprise her, but it seemed as if Darwin was not yet able to rid himself of his shiny coloring when transforming. She had no idea if he was able to mimic attacks yet, either. The pokemon still remained mostly a mystery.

Umbreon-Darwin was smaller than the real thing, being much younger than the other pokemon. "Brrr" He raised up on his hind legs and pounced on the much grumpier Umbreon. "Bree!" If being the same didn't work, playing would, it was a fool proof plan.

Nyx winced a little as her pokemon initiated game time; Faleen's Umbreon had always seemed like a no-nonsense type of pokemon, so Nyx kept her hand on the masterball attached to her belt, ready to recall Darwin if he got himself into too much trouble. "Ah-" Nyx smiled awkwardly as the doors opened and shut on a floor that she did not intend to exit on. "Just like a ditto. One of the reasons the real thing is so hard to locate."
