Dinner had been simple. It was a small Bistro in downtown Destiny, known for its fantastic food and atmosphere. Adira loved going there, and having company made it all the better. It wasn't pretentious, it was simple. It was fun. These were all the same reasons that she had invited Bo to go with her.
They'd made plans to patrol after dinner, but she wasn't so sure she wanted her night ruined by some ornery youma at this point. The moment the door opened from the restaurant a chill wind blew past, blowing open her coat and covering it with...snow? Shocked, a smile grew on her face as she stepped fully outside to turn in the snowfall. It had already started accumulating on the ground.
"Bo... its snowing!" She turned her head skyward, eyes locking on the senshi of summer's face as the snow started accumulating in her hair. Yup, they should definitely skip patrolling tonight! A wonderful dinner and snowfall filled night was just begging not to be ruined.

Bo was not the greatest boyfriend in the world, not in the traditional sense. He made Adira roses out of bank receipts and brought her polaroid photos of all the pretty things he had seen that day that reminded him of her. At the nice restaurant, though, he didn't have enough money to pay, and Adira had to pick up the tab. It wasn't something that Bo saw as an issue. But it was certainly not something that Miss Manners would have approved of. There was good and bad with Bo Hanley, but for whatever reason, Adira accepted his adorable factor and let the other parts slide -- at least, so far.
One arm slung lazily over Adira's shoulders, curling her close to his body. "It's so cold out," he said lowly. "I miss the sticky heat of summer." There wasn't sadness in his voice, but if Adira looked closely, she might have noticed a flicker of it in his eyes. It was true that Bo was not fully himself in this bitter season, even if he tried to make the best of it. He had always been that way, long before he even knew that it was his power sphere, or that he served a princess, or that cats could talk.
His other arm curled around her, drawing her into a hug. "Oh yes, this is much better," he whispered.

Warm hands wrapped around Bo, sealing the hug together as tightly as she could before breaking apart again. A bit giddily, Adira jumped up onto the nearby park bench, putting the couple on a much more even level. This time, it was Adira's arms that pulled him into a hug, wrapped around his shoulders as she lay a kiss on his rosy cheek.
"Winter is always better with a little summer." It was a private joke, shared between people with secrets. They both knew what it meant, and Adira smiled at the boy in front of her. She knew it wasn't his season, she could see it in his eyes. Bo was truly meant to live in some warm tropical paradise; perpetually summer. What fate had ended him up here in the throes of winter was beyond her.
Adira pulled him in for another tight hug, whispering in his ear. "I"ll keep you warm." This heavy snowflakes fell from the sky, landing on everything and anything that it could reach.

When Adira broke the hug, Bo tilted his head, confused. It wasn't until she hopped up onto the bench and reached for him again that his smile returned to its usual wattage, glowing brighter when she kissed his cheek. "Or a lot of summer," he chimed in, nuzzling his face into the crook of her neck. Adira had really wonderful hair. It always smelled nice, though he could never quite put his finger on the scent.
One gloved hand reached up to gentle touch a loose curl, fingers dragging down the length of it and then moving to brush her arm. Then Adira pulled him tighter, and Bo wrapped both arms around her, squeezing tightly and lifting her several inches off of the bench. "With you, it doesn't seem so cold," he whispered back.
He held her there for a moment and then swept one arm quickly under her legs and sat down, keeping her on his lap. He wasn't sure how long she'd stay there, but he laughed and grinned, clearly proud of himself.

Adira always loved the way that Bo twirled her around and picked her up. For some reason, it had always come across as adorable and not annoying like she had imagined it to be. It was bound to happen in the end; it didn't matter how high her heels were. The pair was never on eye level without the help of some third party object, and even then Bo was still usually taller. The girl let out a peal of laughter when he practically forced her to sit on his lap, snuggling into him as soon as he was settled.
A red tinged nose tucked into his neck, probably a little spot of cold against his vital signs. He had to be uncomfortable though, sitting on the cold bench. Adira pulled back a little bit to look up at him. "This bench must be freezing." Regardless of how uncomfortable it must have been, she did have to admit it must've been picturesque. "I know you don't like snow very much Bo, but I must say that being here with you right now is just about perfect." She nuzzled his cheek before leaning in for a kiss.

Bo liked picking up girls and spinning them, especially petite ones. Almost as much as he himself liked to spin around on merry-go-rounds or lean back at the highest pitch of a swing. It wasn't that Bo was terribly immature. He just didn't see the point in ever fully growing up. Peter Pan and Bo Hanley: BFFE.
He bristled against the cold touch of her nose. "Yikes," he said softly, but didn't back away. Words formed on his lips, but were smothered when Adira leaned in and kissed him. He kissed her back, placing one hand on the small of her back and dipping her dramatically so that her hair lightly brushed the layer of snow on the ground.
When he pulled her back up, Bo was grinning madly, his eyes searching hers for something he wasn't sure he was strong enough to handle. This was the part of a relationship he could handle: the laughter, the flirtation, the smiles. It was the other stuff, the darker stuff, that sent him running. So far, Adira and Bo had managed to avoid it.
"I'll sit on a hundred freezing benches -- even colder than this -- if it means a moment like this, eh?" he said finally, sweeping her sheet of hair past her shoulder. He leaned in as if to kiss her on the mouth, but instead placed it on her nose with a laugh.
Sitting there, staring at her like that, Bo was struck by a sudden idea. "Wait a sec," he said, scooping Adira off his lap and setting her on the bench. He hopped to his feet, digging in the pocket of his jacket for something. When his hand came back out, it was holding a small digital camera, the one he carried about when his other was too bulky. Bo jogged a few steps away and then dropped to both knees in the snow, angled the lens at Adira, and started to snap away.

After the first incidence of their relationship, Adira had realized that it just wasn't who Bo was to deal with things like that. It had been a moment of weakness on her part, letting the world get to her like that, and she'd be damned if it happened again. So her eyes held what Bo wanted to see, lightheartedness and happiness. Even if it was a bit of pretend on her part, it still felt good to have such a child-like release of tension.
The sweeping kiss made her blush a bit, only adding to the natural rosy color of her cheeks in the cold. And the kiss to the nose was just adorable in a way that made her giggle. "Bo, what are you up to?" She tilted her head at him, a bit confused. That was likely what the first picture he took would look like.
After she realized it was a camera, Adira had to laugh. "Bo! What are you doing?" She smiled at some of the pictures, but when it showed no signs of stopping the girl took matters into her own hands. Getting up from the bench, she launched herself carefully at Bo; intending to tackle in a way that wouldn't kill his camera.
After all, the snow was soft and the way he was kneeling like that put them on the same height level. It was almost like he was asking for it all along!

The last photo Bo got was of Adira's legs: both airborne and flying toward him. It was a shoe-in for his wall collage the second he got home. One arm flailed out to embrace her at the last second, but both still went hurtling gently into the snow. Bo chuckled, tugging at the sleeve of his jacket to dump out some excess ice. He had fingerless gloves on, not the best idea, and the tips of his fingers were bright red.
"You are unpredictable," he said, even if it wasn't entirely true. "I like it."
Grabbing a loose handful of snow, Bo drizzled it lightly into her hair. "I don't know if you know this," he began, wriggling closer to her, "but that was mistletoe snow. Just an FYI." Then he closed his eyes, puckered his lips comically, and waited.

Adira looked on in mock horror as the snow was drizzled on her hair. The only bad part of it was that her hair took forever and a day to dry out completely, but it was already wet from the falling snow to the point where it didn't really matter anymore. She was interested to see the pictures he'd gotten; Adira thought his collages and strange sense of art aesthetics was simplistic in a genius sort of way. She loved seeing them, and it was even more flattering to see herself in them.
"Mistletoe snow...hmmm." His comically puckered lips were certainly attention grabbing, but Adira chose a different route. Seizing the hand that had drizzled the snow, she laid a kiss on each red fingertip. "We should get you out of the snow soon, you'll freeze."
He wasn't really dressed properly for the weather, and it was apparent in his freezing cold hands. She thought for only a moment before offering it up. "Would you like to warm up at my place?" As of yet, Bo had never been in her apartment. They'd met up in other places, or she met him at the front of the building. Since she'd seen his own, she felt it was only right to share.

Bo waited with eyes closed and lips ready, but instead felt soft lips brushing his numb fingertips. Well, he sort of felt it. "You'll freeze," he said mockingly, though it wasn't really a joke. It sounded more like a child trying to argue with an adult. Not that Bo really argued. No, he was just a world class avoider.
When Adira offered her place, Bo sat upright comically. "Miss Perses," he said in mock seriousness, "are you trying to seduce me?" The voice was apparently supposed to be reminiscent of The Graduate, but he sounded more like d**k Tracey with a cold.
Bo climbed to his feet and then helped Adira to hers. "Because you really don't have to try." He leaned closer and whispered, "I mean, you really don't. I'm there." Two arms wrapped around her waist and pulled her tight.

Adira had to laugh at Bo's terrible rendition of the famous movie line, but then again he seemed to have a penchant for doing just that. It wasn't the first movie quote she'd heard done Bo-style. She accepted the taller boys help gratefully out of the snow, finding a whole half of her almost drenched.
When he whispered, Adira shivered. Clearly though, it had nothing to do with her attraction and everything to do with the cold weather. Clearly. The unexpected waist pull sent her all but flying into the embrace, tucked closely against the much larger boy. "It wasn't my intention to seduce you at all, just to keep you warm!" She blushed slightly and tucked her face into Bo's side to hide it.
"So... would you like to come over? I have hot chocolate too I think." She wasn't even sure that he liked hot chocolate, but it seemed like something more to offer than just seeing her place.

Bo curled her closer. "Oh, you can keep me warm," he said, grinning. "You can keep me as warm as you'd like." From another boy's lips, this might have come across unbelievably douche-y, but there was something about the cant of his head and the laughter in his voice that kept this vibe away.
Sliding Adira to his side, he draped one arm over her shoulder, gazing down at her from his full height with a light in his eyes. "Hot chocolate sounds delicious. I've always wondered what your room looks like. I figure... a mirror. Lots of photos, maybe? Something classy." His arm slid from her shoulder and instead dropped so that the pair could lace fingers.
"Lead the way, captain," he said, giving her a mock salute. "Where you go, I shall follow."

Bo always had Adira laughing, if nothing else, another giggle escaping her lips at his comments. Something about his demeanor and personality was so non-offensive that he could pretty much say anything without it being taken the wrong way. Adira chalked it down to a severe case of natural charm.
She smiled a bit wryly up at him, squeezing his hand and tugging him forward. "I guess you'll just have to see!" The walk wasn't very far, two or three blocks at best. The doorman let them in the front, and the elevator was devoid of music up to the top floor.
The key was turned and the door clicked open to show Adira's flat. It had recently been redecorated, in a swanky palette of blue, brown, white, and silver. It was warm and inviting for the most part, but a very stark contrast to Bo's own apartment. Floor to ceiling windows with a view of downtown DC covered the space in front of them, and the kitchen was directly to the left. A small fireplace in the living room. Adira slipped off her shoes and turned to face Bo.
"Well, this is my place...what do you think?" If he looked at the walls hard enough, he'd find a huge corkboard panel, filled with all of the things that he'd given her. Polaroids, pictures, drawings, even the little roses he made sometimes out of paper. All pinned up... they made her smile.

The more they walked, the heavier the snow fell. Even with his hood up, Bo felt utterly soaked. Their feet left twin wet paths through the lobby of her building and small puddles in the elevator. By the time they reached her apartment, Bo had started to warm up a bit, but he still shivered every so often, adjusting his jacket uncomfortably.
That discomfort was momentarily forgotten when he stepped inside Adira's flat. It was... awesome -- much better than his, not that that was much of a challenge. "You have a fireplace!" he said suddenly, crossing the room to it. He pulled at the protective cover. "Very romantic, aw haw haw." Apparently that was what Bo thought French people sounded like.
Working along the edge, Bo touched here and there at Adira's things, drinking it all in with a growing smile. "It's a classy place. You fit perfectly in it." He was distracted by a corkboard on the wall. Bo could recognize his own handiwork. A finger touched at one of the folded roses, but he didn't say anything. He just turned slowly and smiled at her with a warmth that seemed deeper than his normal flirtation.
In a flash, that mature glimmer was gone. "Race you to the bedroom!" he declared triumphantly. Wet sneakers thudded against her floors as he went room to room, finally throwing up the right door. There was a sound of heaving and then the bouncing of springs. "I WIN," he announced -- much louder than necessary.
It did not occur to him that lying on her bed in wet clothes might not be the smartest idea in the world.

Adira cringed a bit when she realized that while she had stopped to strip her shoes off at the door, Bo on the other hand had gone romping through her flat with incredibly wet sneakers. All of her visitors usually knew the unspoken shoes at door rule, but she brushed it off the best she could. At least he'd managed to avoid most of the carpeted areas and...
She closed her eyes and sighed and the sound of the squish of the carpet, an the unmistakable thud of a body hitting a bed.
A wet body. "Bo!" She charged up the stairs behind him, shaking her head at the sight of her warm, dry comforter already showing damp spots. It would take forever to dry the thing out and it looked like she'd have to go fishing in closets for enough blankets to keep warm tonight.
"Bo, my blankets are all wet!" She stood at the edge of the bed, looking down at the boy who just barely fit onto her over sized mattress. Stretching out a finger, Adira did the traditional 'come thither' motion with it, signaling him to get up off of her bed. "If you insist on flopping on things, we need to find a way to get you dry. Or find something else you can wear, at the least." The only issue was...what exactly did a 5'2" woman have to offer a 6'5" man in the way of clothing? She did have to smile down at him though. His enthusiasm for things was certainly endearing at the least.
