She repeated the process with the next rabbit, and the next. She was starting to get a bit cocky, and before long, it caused her to miss one of the rabbits. She cursed and then darted off after it, yelling back for Chane to man the hole. "I'll get him! He can't hop away!" 
When she did that Chane did swear. As fast as he could he filled in the hole he'd just made. One rabbit had already tried to escape there. A bad idea on the part of the rabbit. It now lay dead off to the side of the dirt pile.Chane limped over to beyhas' old spot and peared down the hole, hoping the rabbits hadn't all escaped while he was preoccupied.
She ran after the rabbit, paying no attention to what was going on behind her. She was certain that Chane would have no problem taking over the rabbit catching. She had to catch this one! She wasn't letting it get away.
Chane caught one more coming out of the hole. (Scared rabbits arn't to smart after all). But no more came out after that. Sighing again, Chane sat down to wait for his pet maniac to reappear, hopfully with the escaped rabbit. He sure as heck couldn't go after her right now...
The rabbit was fast, but Bayhas was faster. As she closed in, she leapt on it, pinning it to the ground. Ignoring its frightened cries, she tore into its neck, severing the arteries there. When it stopped struggling, she grinned and picked it up in her strong jaws, heading back to Chane with her head held high. "I got it!" she called when she saw him, her voice muffled from the rabbit still being in her mouth. She dropped it at his feet, ignoring the blood on her throat.
Chane congratulated her and got up, limping, to go collect up all the other rabbits.
"I think that's all we can catch today, but it's more then enough. I didn't really think we'd catch more then three. We'll have to remember this method, won't we!"
She nodded, grinning as she plopped down beside her kill. She gave it a happy nudge with her nose, and turned to look at Chane, seeming to notice he was limping for the first time. Her face fell.
"Nothing really. The tunnel collapsed and I just twisted it the wrong way. It's not a big deal..." He gave her his best, 'it's okay' smile then gestured at the rabbits.
"Lets eat our fill here and then carry the rest home," if there was any left.
She frowned and got up to move closer to him. "Are you sure? That's your bad paw!" she cried, leaning over to sniff at it. "You better not just be saying that! I want to know if you're not okay!"
"It hurts a bit but I'll be just fine by tomorrow morning, promise!" he murmured. "No need to be so worried about me, really..."
More then anything he was just hungry.
She still looked worried as she scooted closer to Chane. "Are you sure?" She nosed it gingerly, trying not to hurt him. "What if I kissed it better? That always worked when I was a cub!" She glanced up at him with wide earnest eyes.
Chane flushed, his eyes growing wide. Sure it was just a kiss on his paw... but that was more then he'd ever gotten from anyone let alone a pretty girl.
"Uh... Does it really? I've never had anyone... kiss it better before..." he stammered. "You could try it!"
"Yeah! My mama used to do it all the time when I hurt myself. Which was a lot." She grinned and then leaned over to gently kiss the injured paw better. When she had, she looked up at him, giving him a soft smile.
"There! Did that help?" she asked eagerly, really hoping it had.
Hurt herself alot? That he belived.
The kiss was warm and felt quite nice but when it was over his foot didn't feel the least bit better.
"That... That helped a lot, thank you," he hoped she wouldn't notice if he was still limping later.
Her smile widened and she cheered happily. "Yay! I'm glad it did!" She puffed her chest out proudly, then settled down again. "Okay, I'm hungry. Can we eat our rabbits? How many did we get? A lot?!"
Chane lay down, being careful not to agrivate his leg.
"I'm not sure, at least five. Six maybe? I lost count but it's more then enough!"
He smiled at her, "Maybe next time we can try this trick on another warren.
