A young colt, most of his coat a flesh tone, with only a white under belly, muzzle, and some soft black accents; stood alone on a large sand dune looking out to see. Oh yes, his family was still close they would never leave him on his own for to long .. but he needed this, a moment on his own to say goodbye.

He'd been born here, kept here for all of his time in his basket and now, his family was traveling inland for a while, he was devastated he didn't want to leave -her- the ocean. She was just like his mother, she'd always been there singing her soft song, the salty water running in his veins. His nostrils flared as he breathed in the salty air one more time nostrils flaring to take in as much of the scent as he could before he turned.

Johnathan eyed the expanse of green fields with the sparse scattering of trees, he frowned, crimson eyes narrowing. This wasn't where he belonged ... but this was where his parents wanted to be for now.

He walked slowly forward ears flicking back to listen to the sound of the waves as they slowly faded behind him.

She was still there though, in the back of his mind. A soft whisper of the waves in the recesses of his mind and ears.

Johanthan wondered along a a distance behind his parents and brothers. He was grumbling softly to himself, they'd been walking for days now and still his parents didn't seem ready to stop. He was tired, achy, and bored of all this. Why was mother so determined to live in this place? The mountains, trees, grass bah! It wasn't as pretty as the wide endless expanse of the ocean.

The colt stopped to angrily nibble at a blackberry bush, yanking the juicy berries off making the whole bush quiver. "Stupid parents.." he yanked another berry off the bush "can't they see how -horrible- this place is!" With lips stained blue from he berries the colt turned his head to look in the direction his parents and siblings had traveled. With a soft sigh, he hung his head and trudged after them a soft pout on his features.

He froze in mid stride when he thought he heard something, his ears flicking wildly he looked around deep crimson eyes scanning the foliage for who or what was here.

Trying to puff himself up, to seem bigger the colt squared himself up, head high. "come out!". He flicked his tail, pawed a little white hoof in the dirt, and waited,

Johnathan waited, for a moment nothing seemed to happen, even the wind seemed to have caught it's breath and not a hint blew past him. His little ears flicked wildly, straining for the slightest noise that would give away whatever was in that bush. Little muscles taunt under his pale coat he stood rocked back in the oddest manner, back legs buckled slightly forelegs stretched out rooted to the ground head thrown back. He appeared to be trying to pull away from some invisible post he was tethered to but was unable to snap the rope.

When the filly followed by her soft voice touched his senses, he relaxed mentally and visibly and a breath of wind ripped through his streaked mane in time with his own release of baited breath. He snapped himself up straight, white hooves nearly knocking together.

He blinked big crimson eyes at her, there seemed to be no other soquili around ... odd "a-are you alone?". He danced back and forth a moment, tail flicking against his rump.

Johnathan blinked his crimson eyes rapidly at the filly, she was alone? really? "well ... uhm ..." he pawed first with his left hoof, then with his right "do you want to travel with me and my fmaily for a while? i-I mean at least until we can find your family?" He blushed slightly, but luckily the thick streaks of black hid most of the red hugh.

He turned his head in the direction his family had walked, luckily he could still see their tracks in the soft dirt.

He looked back at the filly, whom had a horn like his father's, and almost in some ways resembled his own colorings.

He gave her a slight smile and turned to follow their tracks.

John flicked his tail as he followed the hoof prints, the two small sets of his brothers, and the larger sets of his parents.

He walked slightly slowly allowing her to catch up, his pearly white hooves barely making a sound on the earth bellow. Without warning he stuttered in his steps and paused, looking back over his shoulder crimson eyes scanning the horizon. Frowning, he turned his head and continued on.

It didn't take long for them to start to catch up .. well .. to his mother, whom had stayed behind to wait for her lagging son. John fearlessly approached the brown mare drinking from a babbling broke.
